Olivia's POV

The ride to the war college was a quiet one. I saw the many questions written expressly on my son's face but he asked nothing, he knew the answers already and I knew that he feared that if I said them out loud it would make it all real.

There was one thing however that I wanted to clarify, one thing that I needed to know. And that was if Jeremy had heard the part about his biological father. But I could not ask him directly, I had to find a way around it.

“You keep looking at my wrist,” I said, I had been watching him throughout the ride so far and he had not taken his eyes off my wrist. I knew the question on his mind was if Simeon had really hurt me or if Simeon had been right and it had just been a mistake.

“Are you in a lot of pain, mum?” he asked me, my heart broke at the pity he felt for me in his voice.

“No, sweetheart, not at all,” I said with a smile that I hoped reached my eyes.

“Did dad do it?” he asked quietly.

I was at a crossroads. I could tell him th

Olivia’s POV“Mum, let’s go.” I said as I came out of the cottage. I saw Mum pacing the corridor, she still had a worried look on her face. She turned to me and sighed, “How are you, Olivia.”I rolled my eyes and grunted, she tried to reach for my arm, but I shifted out of her reach and faced her. “Mum, it’s fine. Let’s go.” She nodded and turned to pick a basket from the floor, beside the bench she sat. It was a fruit-filled basket. I didn’t notice that she had brought that before. “I’d brought this for you but I guess you didn’t have time to take it,” She said. I went up to her and took it from her. “Thanks, I have taken it now.” I said, faking a grin. She raised a brow. “How are you, Olivia? You don’t have to act strong in front of me.” I grinned. “Mum, I said I am fine. Why are you still pestering me about this stuff?” I rolled my eyes. On one hand there was so much to worry about. Thinking of Jeremy and Damien had my mind fuzzy right now, and Mum was still trying to add hers

Damien’s POVDamn it. I cussed as I hit my hand against the steel handle of the wheel chair. “Why doesn’t she understand?” I growled. “I was only doing his for her own good.”I shook my head, and pushed the chair down to the window. From this angle, I could see the hills up ahead very clearly, and I could also see Olivia’s Mum, pacing. I bit my bottom lip as I stared at her. She had many similarities with Olivia, the only difference now was that Olivia was still in her youthful age. Her Mum was a bit chubbier now. But she paced the corridor with her face wearing a frown. I could see deep worry in her eyes for Olivia.I was also worried about her. But she–I bit my bottom lip and sighed. “Olivia was so stubborn that she would never listen to me when I told her this was for her own good.”A knock on the door made me turn and I stared at it for a while, thinking if it was her. “Would it? She had stormed out of my presence.” I clicked my tongue. “The Olivia I know would never come back f

Simeon’s POVMy chest heaved in satisfaction as I saw the message from Austin. “Selene had taken Jeremy with him from the hills, where the pack healer’s cottage is. From my observation, she headed north. That was all I know,” I read out his message.I smiled and nodded. “This was enough information, Dear Austin.” I jumped out of my bed and entered my bathroom to have my bath. After that, I came out, moisturized and went into my closet. As I approached the cabinet where I kept my armor and gears, I smiled. “It’s been a while– baby.” I said, opening it, and I beheld my silver plate and leather woven armor, shining back at me. I carried it out with the steel hanger I used in keeping it and I dropped it on the bed. A knock on the door made me turn, I had worn my underpants and was about to brush my wet hair, so I would blow it dry. “Who’s there?” I asked. “It’s Gwen.” The small voice came from behind the door. “Gwen? What does she want now?” I muttered, picked my towel and wrapped it

Olivia’s POV“Damien thought he would toy with me? But no. I would take the chess board now and I would play this game with him.” I heaved a deep breath, rushed into the bathroom and I saw my face in the mirror. My eyes were red and puffy. “How can I go out to meet Mum, looking like that? Damien had already made me look so pathetic and pitiful by telling Mum what happened. It would hurt her more to see me this way.” I rolled my eyes as I thought of what Damien had did. “I shouldn’t think about him anymore. It just hurts so much. He had done what he thought was right, it was my turn now.” I splashed some water on my face and then dried it with a towel. On my way back into the room, I ran my hand through my hair several times as I arranged it, then I applied my powder. I look better now. I smiled at the mirror in my room and then I picked my bag, heading out of the room.No one would see the weak side of me anymore, not even Damien. No one. I reached the corridor and I headed off t

Olivia’s POV“You didn’t do anything stupid, did you?” I asked, my heart racing. My thoughts flew back to when I saw Austin grinning like that. “Wait, was that why you went to Austin’s room?” Damien nodded. I gulped, and continued questioning him, “So, tell me. What was the end of the bargain?” I asked him. He stared at me as he grounded his teeth, speechlessly, turned and looked away, avoiding my eyes. But why? Why did he have nothing to say? Has he done something stupid now? “Damien, speak with me,” I growled as I grabbed his shirt, shaking him. He turned, faced me and smiled. “I love you, Olivia. I loved Jeremy and I want the betterment of the pack too. I don’t want to do whatever would make you stay unhappy all your life.” I blinked at him. “What do you mean by that?” I asked. He nodded and licked his lips. “I had to make the deal and whatever decision I had made, for your own well being, and I am not changing it. Olivia.” My ears rang as his words. How cold and strict they

Olivia’s POVSpeak up!!” I yelled, pushing him harder. He gritted his teeth and grabbed my hand and shoved it off him. “Get your hand off me, Olivia. I did nothing to him, what can I do to him?” He asked, sneering as he stared at Damien and I.“Hey, don’t you dare touch her,” Damien growled, pointing a finger at him. Austin raised his hand up. “I wasn’t planning to touch her. But she had almost choked me. I had to help myself, you see?” He heaved a sigh and ran his hand through his air. “What is wrong with you, Olivia?” He asked, facing me.I blinked at him, then went back to Damien. “Hey. What were you doing with him?” I asked. “Why were you in his room to begin with?” Damien gritted his teeth, looking away from me. I was sure that he wasn’t bewitched. If he was he would never have tried to save me with Austin shoved me off like that. I took his hand. “We need to talk. About a lot.” I said to him. He nodded and replied. “IU have a lot to tell you about as well, my love, come.”He
