Chapter 27 - Combine

Two weeks later

“Come here. I missed you.” Kane says picking me up. I giggle as my legs wrap around his waist. He walks into his house, closing the door behind us. “Two weeks is too long to go without seeing each other. We need to fix that.” He says putting me down in the living room.

“Sometimes life happens.” I say and he frowns at my words. I guess he doesn’t agree.

“We have to make time for the important stuff and you’re important to me. The two of you are very important to me.” He says placing his hand on my belly.

“I guess so.” I say and he leans down to give me a kiss. “Work has been keeping me busy. But I get what you mean. We need to make a conscious effort to see each other.” I say when we break the kiss. He nods and guides me to the sofa.
