Chapter 19

The lights flickered and flashed intermittently. She tried to stand up but couldn't. Something was stopping her. She looked around the room in a panic. The room was empty except for her and the phone. But then, out of nowhere, it appeared in front of her. She reached out with her hands and touched it; it was hot, warm, and burning hot. She screamed as the burning sensation seared her hand, making it bleed profusely, as she pulled away. Then, it hit her that her clothes were covered in blood and she knew immediately who it belonged to. It was Dennis’s blood and the image burned itself in her mind.

Her knees gave way and she collapsed onto the floor. Everything was a blur as she began to sob uncontrollably. She felt weak, weak, and dizzy but she pushed her fear aside and crawled over to Dennis’s phone which was lying next to the sofa where he had fallen asleep.
