Maleficent's P.O.V:
"Mel! Hurry up, honey! Aunt Stella and Uncle Edi are here!" Mom shouted from downstairs. My heart thumped with excitement.
I gave my dress one last look as I twirled in front of my full mirror. It was a simple half-white dress with small floral patterns on it. It reached my mid-thigh, hugging my figure. The fabric felt soft and smooth against my thighs as I twirled once in front of the mirror.
It was a gift from dad for today. I would finally turn 18th today and I could barely hold my excitement. Why excited you ask? I could finally find my mate now. It was something that I had always fantasized about while growing up as I listened to my parents' love story. Dad would always tell me how Mom is his love of the life, his mate, and how they made it together through hard times.
It always made me wonder how it would feel to have someone who exclusively made for you and only for you? Who is supposed to love you al

**A group of teenage boys was walking down the road. There were six of them. Each having had great fun from the party they just presented to their dear friend, Kane, on his eighteenth birthday that night. They were all returning home after having spent a marvelous time together. Their friendship was something special. They were best friends, more like brothers. But no one knew what was going to happen in the next moment. It was about midnight and the route back to their home was quiet and deserted. However, they had nothing to worry about as long as they were together. They were laughing and cracking stupid jokes at each other when a man in a black hood suddenly appeared in front of them. They were startled by the sudden appearance of the stranger. The boys glanced at each other, a sense of fear gnawing at their hearts. "Hey, man! Do you need any help?" After much hesitation, Sandy, the eldest one of the boys stepped towards
Sya's P.O.V:"Hey! Get up you dumbass!"I felt someone poking the side of my head while shaking my shoulder violently.I don't want to wake up. I slept just a few hours ago. Maybe I slept for three hours? When the shaking didn't stop, I waved my hand in annoyance."Go away!" I said, irritated from the constant disturbance but boy was I wrong? The disturbance only turned into a thunderstorm."Sya Summers, what the fuck did you just say?!" On hearing my full name, I bolted up on my bed and the sheets fell on the floor. There stood my aunt Helena. She was glaring at me with her furious blue eyes as I squirmed uncomfortably under her gaze. She had blonde hair, which was above her shoulders, a lean figure, and beautiful features if she would stop ducking her face in the cake.Note the sarcasm, please.A fierce frown was apparent on her face. "S-sorry aunt Helena! I-I was-- I didn't realize I w
Kane's POV:I was standing in my room, watching the colorful horizon from where the sun was rising. I isolated myself a long time ago or more precisely since the night I rejected my mate. Nothing interested me anymore and neither did I let anything near enough to cause attraction.I walked, stumbling into Stella's house, which was a small cottage in the middle ofthe forest."Stella, I-I need-your help!" I choked out, sobbing from the immense pain that was piercing my heart. Itwas unbearable now. I had clutched the spotwhere my heart was supposed to be, looking like a total mess. When she appeared from a room, I tried to walk towards her. Keyword; tried. When I took a step forward, the last shred of my strength collapsed and I fell to the floor. She ran towards me with a worried expression and kneeled in front of me."Wh-What happened, Kane? Why are you like this? What happened?!" She asked, worried at my miserable state.
Sya's POV:Luckily, Hannah and I had all classes together, except for the third one which was before lunch. But it's okay. I think I could handle at least one class alone. We entered our first class on time as it was getting filled with students. Hannah and I took a seat near the window, while the students were gathering in the room. The room was getting filled with noises that were increasing with every passing second. It was then, the boy who I'd bumped into earlier in the morning entered the classroom and the noises lowered as all attention snapped towards him in, like, a millisecond. It was like he was some kind of celebrity or a Greek model. All the girls were now looking at him as if he was some piece of meat. This made me annoyed for some reason. He took in his surroundings when the chatters got louder with a new topic or especially a boy to talk about. Suddenly, his gaze fell on me and our eyes met again for the second time in the day wh
data-p-id=5008f35a51da6108ff83083fb93ef273,Kane's POV:"Man she's so beautiful, I can't even tell you in words! She has dark brown wavy hair and chocolate brown eyes! She's just so perfect." Bryson was blabbering about how beautiful his mate was and I couldn't stop rolling my eyes. The guy was already so obsessed with this girl. He went on and on about how pretty she was, how the shape of her eyes, ears, nose, lips everything was perfect.I wasn't even paying attention to him at this point because my mind kept wandering back to those intense black eyes belonging to a certain girl named Sya. But what Bryson said next snapped my attention back to him."Oh God, even her name is so perfect, 'Hannah Adrian'!" He said her name dreamily but that got on my nerves.Hannah Adrian?! Well, well if this isn’t a typical film scene then I don't know what is. Bryson's mate just had to be my ‘suppo
Sya's POV:Hannahseemed to be really impressed by that boy named Bryson. Hewas with us at lunch the whole time and he brought with him the one and only boy, whose presence was the last thing I wanted at the time.Hey! But why blame someone else when you're the one who has a shit fate! I don't understand what his problem is? It seems like he desperately wants to ignore my existence yet he can't help but lure me into his unfairly gorgeous eyes. After college Hannah's father called her and said that he was coming to visit her. The girl already missed her father so much, soshe left a little early. She kept saying how disappointed she was she couldn't spend more time with me but I told her to go anyway. I couldn't keep her from her father. Not when I really envied her for this blessing sometimes. Maybe because I also missed my mom and dad so much.Anyways, here I was, alone, again. I walked t
Sya's POV:It'd been a week and everything was going according to what I'd expected. I asked Helena if I could work at the cafe and guess what? She said yes! A bloody yes! I would have been surprised if I didn't already know what she and her dick of a son are planning to do to me.Anyways, at least I could spend a good time before dying.Honestly! I don't want to live either. I have nothing to cherish in my life. I have no family and who would be stupid enough to accept a weirdo like me. I'm broken, with so much emotional baggage. So, I'll pretend to be a little optimistic. I'm pretty good at being pretentious, anyways.I had beenworking at the cafe after college. Helena said I could work there but I had to be back home before John came back sincetelling him was definitely not a great idea. It was doingway better than I’d thought. Maybe, they're letting me enjoy a
Sya's POV:I quietly opened the door to prevent it from making any noise. You know, in case I got lucky and John didn't realize I wasn't in the house all this time and went straight to his room. I silently closed the door behind me and looked around. The house was bathed in darkness and that gave my heart a strong negative vibe. Why is it so dark and unusually quiet?I took another hesitant step forward and was now in the living room. Suddenly, as if on cue, all the lights flickered on. And there was John, sitting on the couch with an evil smirk plastered on his hideous face. I felt fear grip me. Grip me so tightly and in place. I hated it. Hated standing in front of him like I was the criminal. Like I was punishable for merely existing."Looks like someone is late!" He sang in a low voice, the evil smirk still pasted to his face. He slowly pushed himself out of the couch and stood up, walking towards me. data-p-id=f3331a8898b9f5
