I let out a sigh of relief after I was done with the last patient.

“You look exhausted,” Millie, one of the nurses said.

I could barely manage out a nod as I lowered myself into the chair next to me.

The pack hospital was busier than usual today. The snow poured heavily this morning, catching people off guard. We didn’t get more than a few inches on a good day, but today, people were walking ankle deep in snow.

There were so many accidents and cases of young kids who hadn’t gotten their wolf yet, catching the flu.

“Here,” Millie handed me a bottle of water.

“Thank you,” I mumbled, draining the entire bottle in one gulp. “You should head home, Millie. I hear the snow will only get worse tonight.”

She grabbed her coat and pulled it over her shoulders. “You should too.”

“I will, I’m just waiting for my husband,”

I glanced over at the clock.

Alexander knew what time I got off work. He should’ve been here by now, but once again, he’d shown that I wasn’t a priority and was late.
