Chapter 4

Scarlett POV 

My heart was pounding with fear as breathing became difficult for me. 

" Please let me go." I pleaded with tears rolling down my cheek.

"I was told not to marry you, but I still went ahead. And that's to punish you for trapping me in your web of deceit, " He said clenching harder. 

I felt something slowly dripping from the side of my neck which felt like my blood.

Rage filled Carlos' eyes, as he roared out and tossed me hard against the wall. 

My head bumped the wall hard, sending me to the floor.

"WHY?!" I heard Carlos roaring, smashing things around. 

Fear engulfed me, sending my body trembling at his wrath.

His eyes fell on me, as he ordered coldly, "Get out of my room before I kill you!"

I struggled to stand up and left the room with my body trembling in fear. 

Some of the maids who were eavesdropping ran away immediately they saw me coming out of Alpha Carlos's room. 

I shouted for help and Leah came running to me. 

She helped me up and took me to a room beside the Alpha's room. 

She brought out the first aid box and tended to my wood. 

I slept off after taking the pain relief she gave me. 

.... 

I woke up feeling pain all over my body. 

The wound in my neck were still fresh. 

I winced in pain as I dressed after taking my bath. 

"I know Carlos would have calmed down by now. I have to see him, maybe he will give me a listening ear." I thought to myself before leaving the room to find him. 

I asked a maid in the hallway of Carlos where about and she told me he was in his throne room. 

I made my way there and was about to enter when I heard voices. 

"This is not allowed, Alpha, you can't allow such an abominable woman here in our pack."

" We can't accept such a woman as our Luna." 

"You have to send her away." 

" I even heard she sleeps with different men which is why she's not able to identify the man that impregnated her." 

These were the hurtful words the council members were saying about me. 

A painful tug arose in my chest. My heart ached in pain as I tried to hold back the tears that threatened to come out of my eyes. 

I couldn't continue to listen to their hurtful words and I decided to leave when I heard something that made me halt on my track. 

"Do you all realize that you are talking about my Luna here? How dare you all speak ill of her? She's my Luna and will remain the Luna of this pack and that is final!” Alpha Carlos defended me using his Alpha tone on them as the whole place became silent at once. 

Emotions welled up within me, He just defended me. 

" He still has feelings for me," I said, to myself, wiping the tears from my eyes. 

I decided to prepare breakfast for him, maybe this will make him happy. 

I made my way to the kitchen to prepare the meal with the help of some maids. 

Carlos stepped into the dining area with Philip and I immediately served him. 

I stood up to watch him eat his meal with the other maids who stood up in a row bowing their heads. 

"Why are you here?" He asked me, coldly. 

"I prepared this meal for you, Your Highness," I answered, softly. 

He looked up and glared at me, "And who said you could touch my food with those filthy hands of yours?" He asked, furiously. 

His words stung a little as  I held back the tears that were threatening to come out of my eyes. 

I mustered a weak smile on my face as I didn't want to appear weak in the presence of the maid, " I.. Emm. I just want to... " I couldn't finish the sentence when Carlos angrily poured hot soup on me, everyone gasped with shock. 

He looked at me irritably without a word and stormed out of the dining room with his guards. 

Philip gazed at me with an apologetic look before leaving. 

I stayed rooted to the ground feeling sad and embarrassed, “What sort of life is this? Why can't I be happy like every other person?” I asked myself as I couldn't contain my tears anymore. 

I went back to my room and changed with the help of Leah. 

Carlos continued darting at me and always found a little excuse to lash at me. I endured everything until the day he came back with two omegas. 

They mocked and called me names without him saying anything. 

One of them told me to prepare a meal for them which I refused but Carlos commanded me to oblige to their request. 

I went into the kitchen to prepare the meal and served them but one of them poured the food on me, mocking me and calling me a slut. I couldn't do anything in order not to incur Carlos's wrath. 

I got fed up with the humiliation and I finally decided to go back to my father's house. 

"I know father will never reject me," I said to myself.

I sneaked out of the palace and went to my father's house. On getting there I saw Jane outside with her maids, "Look who we have here? The almighty pregnant Luna. Have you finally known the father of the bastard you are carrying?" she mocked and laughed out with her maids. 

"Don't you dare call my child a bastard?" I warned her and went inside to see my father. 

"Father!" I exclaimed with tears on seeing him. 

He embraced me tightly and pleaded with me for not being able to fight for me. 

I narrated everything I went through in the hands of Carlos and he promised to take me in. 

A few minutes later, the guards informed Father that the council members wanted to see him. 

They told my father that I was no longer part of the pack.

My heart raced in fear after hearing what they were saying. 

"She must be banished from this pack." 

"Alpha, This is an abomination." 

"She's carrying an abominable child, she must be banished." 

They lamented and threatened to impeach 

my father if he didn't banish me. 

Father was put in a tight corner.

I shivered at their order, “What am I going to do? Will he banish me?”
