MasukReina's POV
I stood silently in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection. The woman looking back at me felt like a stranger. Wrapped in an elegant wedding dress adorned with shimmering diamonds, I looked nothing like the fragile girl who had grown up in the servants’ quarters. And yet, beneath the expensive fabric and delicate lace, I was still the same broken Reina. A bitter smile curved my lips. Once, I had imagined myself wearing a wedding dress for Zayne. I had pictured him standing at the altar, smiling at me the way he used to. I had believed that one day, I would become his Luna, walking beside him as his rightful mate. Even before his betrayal… I had believed in that dream. My chest tightened painfully. A tear slipped down from the corner of my eye, tracing a slow path along my cheek. I quickly wiped it away before it could fall any further. I couldn’t afford to cry anymore for a man who fooled me for a year. Suddenly, the door burst open with a loud bang. “I heard you’re getting married!” Mariana’s sharp voice echoed through the room as she stormed inside without knocking. Her eyes immediately landed on me, then dropped to my dress. “Fuck,” she muttered in disbelief. “Are those real diamonds? Did you even meet Damon before? Why would he marry trash like you?” Her words burned, but I remained silent. Before I could respond, Britany entered behind her, holding an elegant necklace box in her hands. “Lower your voice,” Britany snapped. “If Damon hears you, all of us will be dead.” Mariana scoffed. “Mom, are you serious?” she protested. “Damon can’t possibly become Reina’s husband. This is ridiculous.” I could see the jealousy blazing in her eyes. She couldn’t stand it. She couldn’t accept that Damon had chosen me instead of her. “For your information,” I finally said, meeting her gaze, “Damon claimed that I am his mate.” The room went silent. Mariana froze for a second before bursting into laughter. “What?” she snickered, stepping closer to me. “You must be joking.” Before she could say anything else, Britany interrupted sharply. “Go outside and stay with your father,” she ordered. “Everything is happening too fast. Make sure Damon doesn’t get angry.” She opened the necklace box as she spoke. A soft gasp escaped her lips. Curious, I turned my head. Inside lay a breathtaking necklace set crafted with rare crimson diamonds. The stones glowed softly under the light, radiating elegance and wealth. I had never seen anything like it before. My eyes widened in shock. “No way…” Mariana whispered in disbelief. “Damon gave that to her?” Her voice trembled with envy. I glanced at her and noticed her fists clenched tightly at her sides, her nails digging into her palms. “Give it to me,” she demanded suddenly. “Shut up,” Britany scolded harshly. Grabbing Mariana’s wrist, she dragged her toward the door without another word. Before leaving, she turned back to me. “Put it on,” she ordered. The door closed behind them. The room fell silent once more. With trembling fingers, I picked up the necklace and carefully fastened it around my neck. The cool diamonds rested against my skin, heavy and unfamiliar. I stared at my reflection again, barely recognizing myself. Why would Damon spend so much on me? Why would he be so generous to someone he barely knew? The questions haunted me, but no answers came. I finished putting on the last earring when a soft knock sounded at the door. “Miss, if you’re ready, we need to hurry,” a maid said gently. “Yes,” I replied. “I’m ready.” I lifted my veil and adjusted it over my head before picking up the bouquet resting on the table. As I took a deep breath, I realized that the sharp pain in my heart had dulled slightly. But it hadn’t disappeared fully. And it wouldn't. “Miss,” the maid said softly as she helped adjust my veil, “I truly hope you find happiness with Alpha Damon. You have suffered so much in this house. I’ve seen everything. I think the Moon Goddess has finally blessed you with a mate who will protect you and cherish you the way you deserve.” Her gentle words reached deep into my heart. They were the kindest words I had heard all day. Perhaps… the Kindest I had heard in years. For a moment, I couldn’t speak. My throat tightened, and my vision blurred as tears shimmered in my eyes. I hadn’t realized how badly I needed someone to acknowledge my pain, how desperately I needed someone to see me, to understand what I had been through. Someone finally had. “Thank you,” I whispered sincerely. I didn’t know whether happiness was truly waiting for me in this marriage. I didn’t know if love would ever bloom between Damon and me. My heart was still wounded, and trust felt like a distant dream. But one thing, I knew with certainty. This family, this house, and this pack were the reason for my suffering. And today, as I walked toward a new life, I silently promised myself that I would never allow them to hurt me again.Damon's POV Oliver left with Jax to explain the logistics of the plan to him while I pulled out my phone to call Angus, wanting to know exactly where he was.The moment the call connected, he answered. "I'm in the palace, coming to the barracks," Angus replied from the other side, his voice strained."That's not needed. I'm coming to your chamber. I'll tell you everything there," I said. I turned down the corridor, lowering the phone the moment Angus ended the call, and headed toward his quarters to debrief him on the threat to the gala. Upon reaching his chambers, I saw Angus removing his jacket."Everyone is dismissed," he said to the servants waiting in the room. The moment the doors were closed, Angus turned to me before lowering himself into a chair. "Why did you change the plan suddenly?" Angus questioned me. "You knew the risks involved. I am not letting you get hurt because of me.""When have I ever gotten hurt? You think I'll allow an Alpha Prince to walk directly into dang
Reina's POVMy tears wouldn't stop streaming down, hot and heavy against my cheeks. The cruel weight of my father’s words pressed down on my chest until it was hard to breathe. I pulled my knees tight against my torso, curling inward as I sat on the low edge of the mattress, trying to hold myself together."How is it my fault to be born?" I whispered to the empty room, my voice trembling. "How could he even expect me to help them? Not once did he ask how I was doing, or how betrayed I felt when Mariana turned her back on me."The memories I had buried for so long began to resurface, each one a sharp sting from a childhood defined by neglect. From the age of four, I had started understanding the harsh reality of my position in that house. While Mariana was given a room fit for a princess, I was tucked away in a small room meant for the staff, with nothing but a single, narrow window that barely let in the light. When sickness hit me, the room became an isolation ward; no one ever s
Reina's POVI lowered my phone for the tenth time, staring at the blank screen. There was still no reply from Damon. A heavy knot of anxiety twisted in my stomach as I prayed that he and Oliver were safe out in that rogue town. The sudden, sharp knock on the door made me jump, breaking the silence of the room."Miss, your father is here," the maid informed me, her voice tentative."My father?" I repeated, my brow furrowing.A cold dread washed over me. I immediately shut down the laptop, grabbed my phone, and headed downstairs. Seeing him was the last thing I wanted to do, but I knew ignoring him wouldn't make him leave. If I didn't face him now, he would only keep coming back. When I reached the landing, I spotted Fredrick sitting on the sofa in the main living area. He looked disheveled, and a stark white bandage was taped over a fresh wound on his forehead. I turned to the servants and the house butler, giving them a firm nod to dismiss them and give us privacy. By the time I turne
Damon's POV The moment we arrived at the palace, I checked my phone. The real-time tracking data from Reina showed Alfwin’s location was pinging near the warrior barracks."Oliver, stay here," I commanded, not wanting to draw attention.I rushed toward the barracks on foot. When I reached the training grounds, the courtyard was bustling; the pack warriors were focused on training with the new, advanced equipment that had recently been commissioned. My eyes scanned the crowd, cutting through the movement until they locked onto a figure with a bowed head walking toward the equipment storage room.Using my wolf's speed, I bridged the distance in a fraction of a second, appearing directly in front of him to block his path."Alfwin," I stated. His eyes widened, and he instantly took a step back, his muscles tensing as he prepared to bolt. Before he could turn, I lunged forward, grabbing his wrist. With a swift twist of his arm, I forced him forward and pinned him flat against the neares
Reina's POVThe moment Damon’s message flashed on my screen, I shifted into work mode. It had been over a month since I’d touched my laptop. I began by installing a custom recognition software I’d developed, needing its specific algorithms to bypass the standard filters. Once the installation bar hit 100%, I fed the image of the man with the burn scar into the system and let it search through the national databases.Lines of code blurred past as the software cross-referenced the image against millions of public and private records. Minutes felt like hours until a match was found.I leaned in, clicking on the profile that had been flagged. The file was heavily encrypted and buried under layers of digital "red tape." As I bypassed the final security wall, the truth became clear. This man had officially been declared deceased three years ago, but the digital trail told a different story."He didn't just disappear," I whispered to the empty room, my fingers flying across the keys to tr
Third Person's POV "Angus, what are we doing in this empty building?" Damon asked, his eyes scanning the incomplete structure of the floor. The Alpha Prince didn't answer immediately. Instead, he picked up a pair of binoculars and gestured for Damon to look through them. "The rogue land is completely visible from this vantage point. Kayden and Oliver will stay here to provide overwatch and keep an eye on our surroundings. You and I will move into the rogue town on foot," Angus explained the plan. Damon lifted the binoculars to his eyes. Through the high-powered lenses, the lawless sprawl of the rogue lands came into sharp focus, the dilapidated structures and narrow, winding alleys of the town lay exposed."Your Highness, let's change the plan," Damon stated, lowering the binoculars and meeting Angus's gaze. "Oliver and I will go into the town. The Alpha King will have my head if another attack happens on your watch. You need to listen to me on this, Angus. You're too high-profile
Damon’s POVI left Reina to settle into the bedroom, closing the doors softly behind me. The moment I was out of her sight, the composed, patient facade I had maintained for her benefit crumbled. My blood was boiling.I marched downstairs, feeling agitated. I found my Beta, Oliver, in the living roo

Reina’s POVI rubbed my eyes as the morning sun flooded the bedroom. Memories of last night came rushing back, making me wince. "I took my anger out on Damon instead of the person who actually earned it," I whispered, pulling my knees to my chest. I remembered Damon’s promise to confront his nephew
Damon’s POVI watched her for a moment, my heart tightening at the sight of her small, trembling form. My gaze dropped to her feet. She had run out here barefoot. The thought of her skin being cut or bruised by the gravel path made my protective instincts flare."Give me a chance to prove my loyalty
