It’s been ten years. Ten fucking torturous years of agonizing wait, and then last… the Moon Goddess decided to bless me with a mate. Fucking finally. He thought to himself. His happiness could not be measured by any weight scale in the whole universe. He had waited for her and yearned for her when he didn’t even know she existed or what she looked like.
Minsi lay unconscious on the bed while a female doctor was examining her. “What do you think is wrong with her? It’s been hours already, Steph.” Ace told the doctor examining Minsi as he paced the room in panic. Minsi hasn’t opened her eyes since he got her from the forest last night. Ace held her in his arms all the way back to Mistwood when he didn’t even know her name. He could only imagine how many more years he’d have to wait for another mate if he were late to save her from those stupid rogues.
“She will,” Stephanie replied curtly, checking her pulse, and her eyes, then her mouth. “Is something seriously wrong with her? Should I get another doctor, Steph?” Ace’s voice was filled with worry. Stephanie sighed, taking off her eyeglasses and tucking them in her coat. “I’m here, aren’t I? And will you please stop pacing around and sit down?” He was starting to frustrate her.
“I can’t,” Ace shook his head, rubbing his hands together. “Ace,” Stephanie uttered, gritting her teeth. “Okay,” He pulled a chair and sat beside his mate. Stephanie got up, “She is fine. Nothing is wrong with her. Well, apart from that.” She pointed at her bruised soles. Ace wondered how long she had been running in the forest and who she was running from. Whoever it was, he only had one wish: to kill him.
“She would regain her consciousness anytime soon. I’ll ask them to prepare her something to eat for when she wakes up.” Stephanie pressed his shoulder. “Thank you, Steph.” He smiled at her. Stephanie was his beta’s wife. The best doctor they had in the Mistwood pack. His pack. “Anytime. But right now, you need a hot bath. You stink, Alpha. Unless you want her to reject you for that.” Stephanie said, narrowing her eyes.
Ace’s panicking eyes flew to the unconscious woman on the bed. Her black silk hair was sprawled on the pillow like a curtain. She looked peaceful and beautiful. “Take care of her for me. I’ll be right back in a minute.”
Stephanie chuckled and uttered amusingly, “Take your time, Ace.”
Ace quickly rushed out of the room. He hadn’t left her since they returned last night. That's why he couldn’t get a chance to clean himself. He only asked his maids to clean her up. The last thing he wanted was to get rejected by her for anything in particular. He waited for her long enough to be that stupid. He wanted to be presentable when she woke up.
He returned to the room right after a minute. Not wasting even a second away from her. He found her sitting on the bed, looking outside the window. Her hair covered her whole side, so he couldn’t get to see her face. She looked like the epitome of peace in that position. And he couldn't wait to experience it with her. He took a deep, silent breath. He was never one to go shy before women, but today, Minsi made him very nervous and shy at the same time. He knew this woman was going to be the end of him. He knocked on the door to get her attention.
“Hi,” He uttered while walking inside because he didn’t know what to say to her. “Hi,” she said back, watching him warily. Ace sat on the chair beside her bed. “How do you feel?” He asked, curiosity and worry eating him up. Minsi lowered her gaze to her feet. “Good. Thank you for saving me.” The man smiled at her. Even her voice was beautiful to his ears. “No need to thank me. I’ll do it over and over again if it means I get you, sweetheart.” He said, and she lifted her head to stare at him in disbelief. As if he said something sinful.
~19~It’s been three days since their union was made. Three days of utter bliss in the company of the love of her life. Minsi never thought it was ever going to happen. And sometimes she thought it was too quick. Because she is already immensely in love with her mate. So much so that even the thought of spending a day without her made her heart ache. When he left for work, she was left daydreaming about him. She saw him everywhere, which made her laugh at herself. Accepting that Ace has finally turned her into a madwoman. She was losing her mind, and she wasn’t even complaining. His sweet and encouraging words. His care for her. The undivided attention that he gives to her. No matter how busy he was, he would put down everything and listen to her. While at work, he would call every passing hour to ask how she was doing or if there was anything she needed. A deliveryman was sending her a bouquet of roses every day as per her husband’s order. And even when she knew how to cook, thanks
~18~“Come on now. Don’t be upset, sweetheart.” He coaxed her by pulling her closer to himself, even when she was resisting him. “Leave me alone,” she pouted, as if she wasn’t enjoying being spooned by him. “I’ll make it up to you.” He announced. This piqued her attention, so she flipped around to face him again, “How?” Ace held the back of his head, holding eye contact with her, “Like this,” he then leaned closer and captured her lips. Slow strokes of their lips filled the room, sucking upper and lower in turn. It made her mind stop, and her stomach filled with butterflies. Forgetting why she was upset with him in the first place. She couldn’t even remember her own name if you asked her at that moment. Her body moved, and she sat on top of him, straddling him in the middle, lips still locked. He brushed her hair off her face while she lowered herself down and deepened their kiss, sucking his tongue as if it was the sweetest thing she’d ever tasted. Her hands were tracing his chest w
~17~Minsi’s eyes slowly cracked open, adjusting to the morning light—a ghost of a smile formed on her lips. The room was exactly how she imagined a room for a man like him would be. Dark grey walls, white ceilings and curtains, with only a subtle amount of modern furniture and decor. There was a glass door that she was sure led to his closet. Another door to the bathroom, and another, which was a double door, revealed a balcony. Clean, classic, and masculine, or in simple language…Ace. When she felt a heavy hand surrounding her waist, her smile stretched further on her lips. And then the heat started to rise on her cheeks. She was a little bit sore from their continuous activities. Last night was the best night of her life. She couldn’t believe that this was her fate now. But then she was also claiming it. Because without any doubt, this was her life now. The two of them had the wildest night. The man had such high stamina, and she was sex deprived for a while. So both of them quenc
~16~“I won’t. But I need you to understand something, sweetheart. I don’t do it sweetly. I’m–uh–a little bit rough.” He rubbed the back of his head, his ear turning red. Minsi raised her brow with a grin on her lips, “Just a little, you said?” He shook his head, “Actually, very rough.” She laughed, burying her face in his chest at his blunt confession. “So?” He asked, rubbing her collarbone. She looked up at him, mischief glinting in her eyes, “Take me, Ace. Roughly.” A shudder rumbled on his chest, “Fuck. You looked so sexy saying that.” He said, pushing himself away from her, and started to shed his clothes slowly and drop them on the floor. Meanwhile, she leaned back on the wall, waiting, ogling, biting her lip, eyes never leaving him. She was getting impatient by the second, but she was glad he wasn’t rushing it. The sight before her was worth it. Broad shoulders with a toned chest, defined abs that made her fingers itch to trace them. His slim waist and Oh. A silent gasp left h
~15~Ace gathered her up in the same position, opened the car door, and kicked it shut once he was standing outside. He strode inside while her lips were busy on his neck. Sucking, biting, kissing. His entire body was on fire. A fire that needed to be put out. And she was the only one with the power to. He took three stairs at a time, pressing her ass all the way. Instead of taking her to her room, he kicked the door of his room. Minsi was placed on her feet. She didn’t even get the chance to admire the room when her body was pressed against the wall. Leaving her back to him. Ace lifted her hands and pinned them above her head. She let out a shudder when his hands traced the curves of her body. “You have no idea how bewitching this body is, baby.” He grabbed her ass and squeezed it, “How amazing and right it feels in my hands.” Minsi let out a moan. “Then show me how.” She couldn’t wait anymore. She wanted him. All of him. Buried deep inside her. His skin pressed with hers. Ace presse
~14~Right after the union formalities ended, a ceremony followed. It was then that Minsi was introduced to almost everyone in the hall. There were a lot of people. Ace told her the attendees were only half of the people of the Mistwood pack and that she should prepare to meet with more people in the near future. For what’s worth, Minsi wasn’t nervous or scared anymore. It’s like something has switched for good inside her the moment she got united with Ace. She could feel a strong confidence swirling deep inside her. It’s like magic how things have suddenly switched for her. And she loved every second of it. This was her home, her people, and her family. And she would do whatever it takes to keep it that way till the day she dies. “Now, I understand why he is so whipped. Look at how glued he is to her. Minsi, you are one beautiful woman.” Wade spoke, sipping his wine, while holding Stephanie's hair with his free hand, so that it wouldn’t interfere with her. “Thank you,” Minsi said, h
