Minsi

I was in a dream. This could never be my reality.

Last night, I was saved by the Alpha of the Mistwood pack. The biggest rivals of the Maplewood pack and where I was born. How did you end up in the enemy's territory, Minsi? And then I found out that he was my mate. The Alpha of Mistwood, this gorgeous and powerful man was my fucking mate! I don’t know what the Moon Goddess had in store for me and my future, but this kind of second chance was too good to be true.

I was the luna of the Maplewood pack, and Duke dicthed me because I wasn’t his type. And now I was Ace’s mate. A Luna of Mistwood. What the hell was going on? His words from last night still rang in my ears.

'I won’t reject you, sweetheart. Because I see you, the real you. And you have no idea how long I had to wait for you. I’ll be damned if you think I’m giving you up.'

'You are mine. My long-awaited mate and my only Luna,'

He said he saw the real me. I hoped not. Because the real me was nothing but an empty shell with so much pain and nothing to look up to. Just disappointments.

As we're speaking, the man carried me bridal style and was taking me to have breakfast. Duke never even spared a minute of his gaze on me, let alone thinking of carrying me. This man, on the other hand, carried me as if I weighed nothing and looked at me as if I were his entire world. What kind of dream was this?

I tightened my hold around his neck, scared that he might drop me once reality hits that I was heavy. I couldn’t help but shut my eyes at the enchanting smell of his perfume. He smelled intensely sweet. Like the smell of jasmine with a hint of musk, if that even made sense. I noticed his brown hair was a little bit long, and it fell just above his shoulders. And his skin was olive, as if he were tanned.

Ace climbed downstairs with me and then took a left turn once we reached the wide, luxurious living room. I couldn’t stop my jaw from dropping once we entered his dining room. This man was not only strong but rich, too. This place screamed money, and nothing like the place I used to live.

On the table were different types of food; you’d think it wasn’t a breakfast for two but a feast for the whole household instead. He pulled a chair and placed me down, and then pushed it forward. I came face-to-face with several dishes that my mouth began to water.

“Oh my God! Are we the only ones eating?” I asked as he pulled the head chair while I was on his right. “Yeah. Do you need more, sweetheart?” He said, smiling. “What? Are you crazy? As much as I love to eat, there was no way I would finish even a small quarter of this table.” Was he out of his mind?

“Well, good thing I love to eat too, so it shouldn’t be a problem.” He placed a napkin on his thighs and urged me to do the same. Still in shock, I did as he did.

“Minsi,”

“Hm?” I loved the sound of my name coming from his mouth.

“Can you do something for me, sweetheart?”

“What?”

“I need you to eat your fill. Don’t feel shy. Your doctor said you need to eat. Do you think you can do that for me?”

How could I possibly recover from that? “Okay,” I nodded.

“Good.” He uttered and took a plate, he filled it with different dishes and filled it to the brim, and then placed it before me. I blinked at the amount. “Eat, sweetheart.” He then went ahead and filled his plate.

And my oh my, he wasn’t lying when he said he loved to eat. His plate was twice size bigger than mine. We ate in silence. And for the first time in my life, I didn’t need to hide the fact that I liked to eat more because I feared getting embarrassed and mocked about my size. I almost choked on my tears at the realization. I felt comfortable being myself for the first time in many freaking years.

After breakfast, he gave me a tour of his house. Actually, it was a mansion. Big and luxurious everywhere I set my eyes. Because the man refused to let me walk on my own feet and carried me throughout the house. Proving to me just how strong he was and how not so heavy I was for him, like he said. I was happy I could fill an entire ocean.

The house had six bedrooms. Three up on the second floor and three on the first, each one of them was a master bedroom. Two living rooms, down and upstairs. One massive kitchen and a dining room next to it. His office on the second floor and another room that he said he used for when official visitors came.

Outside was a big garden and a swimming pool. A garage with his car collection and a basement. The whole property covered a wide area and was surrounded by a tall wall and big gates. I was awed when he was done. The house was so beautiful and I couldn’t believe that my life was going to be here from now on.

He placed me in the living room and went to get us drinks. He then came to sit on the same couch as me and handed me a glass. “So, tell me about you, Minsi.” He started, taking a sip of his red wine. “What—what do you want to know?” He moved closer, brushed a strand of my hair behind my ear, and left his hand lingering there. Then his golden eyes connected with mine, “Everything. Don’t leave anything out, sweetheart.”

My heart slammed in my chest. Oh no! Nothing was appealing about my life. What if he rejected me after knowing my story? No. Tears started to fill my eyes as I stared back at him.
