Amaya shut her eyes and inhaled. Her breath came out in shudders. The drink was gradually leaving her head. She could feel the bar man's ravenous eyes on her. He'd already undressed her with his eyes. The polite smile on his face that once offered her a drink was gone and all she saw was a demon watching his prey and waiting to attack. She was seconds away from being molested and no one was coming to save her. Lyra was probably having the fun of her life somewhere. She reached out to her wolf. She had to help them. This was the most important time she needed her strength, she needed her… she clenched her teeth; she wanted to fight back but it was as though the more she tried to fight, the more her body grew weak. Helpless, she broke into a sad laugh. Her predator did not take her laughing lightly as teeth gnashed. “You are laughing?” he scoffed, advancing towards her. He tried to rip her dress apart but she reached for the sheets and grabbed, pulling them over her and with the wh
AMAYA'S POV I ran out of my room, down the stairs and towards Damian's room.“And where do you think you are going after causing trouble?” Nelly gritted, blocking me. “I'm sorry and I will apologize again if you want me to but right now I'm in a hurry–”“Damian isn't in his room,” she said, unmoving. “Where's he?” I asked, panting. “Why do you want to know so bad? And besides, you don’t have the time to ask for him when you need to serve your punishment–”“I’m sorry and I will accept my punishment whatever it is but I'm in a bit of a hurry right now.” I turned and dashed out. First, I checked the meeting hall building but Damian wasn't there. I didn't know where he was but I would find him. I would find him and I would ask him why… why he bought me despite having to lose in the deal…why he always saved me…why his closeness made my heart flutter… why he was there last night…how he found me in the club…I could hear the racing of my heart. There were so many things I wanted to ask
EARLIER ON…“You will be addressing the guards in five minutes, Oliver, Are you ready?” Raze asked Oliver who it was and it had always been his duty to speak to the guards. “I will do it,” Damian interjected, sauntering into the training room. “You will do it?” Raze and Oliver asked, surprised. “You sure you don't want us doing it?”“He wants to impress his lady guest,” Raze whispered. Oliver frowned. “Impress her? But she won't be there.”Damian heard them and shot them a silencing look. “This is a serious issue. I must speak to them myself,” he added, swiping off a strand of hair that tried to come into his eyes. “Have you thought about Balus' offer?” Raze asked. As a matter of fact it was because of that that he was going to address the guards. Lucius was a cunny man. By now Damian was hundred percent certain he'd received news of Balus coming to him for help. He was expecting Lucius to send a spy to his house but he will make sure to not give him a chance to do that. With
As the days grew, Amaya felt her wolf gradually slipping into extinction. Before, she at least communicated with her even if she didn't shift but now she rarely spoke back. And with every passing day, she feared that one day her secret would be out in the open for the world to laugh at her and mock her. The stigma that someone wolfless was associated with was painful. Especially for someone like her. She had heard how much Damian detested wolfless people. He said they were weak and did not deserve to live. The realisation that he would look at her with hate and disgust made her stomach twist. She sighed and plopped her head deeper on the pillow. Her mind drifted to earlier in the day. Her conversation with Damian had quickly tensed up. She had crossed a line she knew she wasn't supposed to cross and Damian hadn't taken it lightly. And again he had brandished the killer instinct in him. Damian was cussed and it didn't matter who it was, once he was in that fury, he could kill anyone.
Amaya couldn't tell how long she had run as she only stopped when she felt her whole body exhausted. Panting, she sat down on a nearby pavement. It was then she looked and saw she was at the park. She inhaled slowly, the words of the girls jabbing her all over again. Tears welled up in her eyes and she blinked, forcing them back. She could not cry now. At least not yet. She imagined the news travelling round the Pack, the uncomfortable and judgemental stares that would be coming her way. She wondered if Damian had heard it by now. He would hate her. “Amaya…”She noticed a figure standing before her and looked up through her hazy eyes. Her mouth parted. “Alpha Lucius…How did you find–”“Shhhh. I only need you to say the words and I take you home”“And why will you take her home?” a voice thundered behind them. “Alpha Damian?” Amaya gasped, scrambling to her legs. She had imagined her life getting worse but never did she imagine this scenario. Damian glared at Lucius. “You sent you
AMAYA'S POV “Wait here,” Amaya said, helping Lucius to the pavement of an abandoned house. She started to leave and he tried to stop her, eyes clouded with uncertainty. “I won't be long,” she assured him. Some minutes later, she returned with some herbs. Squeezing them in between her palms, she made a mixture with it and began to apply it on his injuries. She could feel him watching her keenly as she silently tended to his wounds. He softly grasped her hand. “Don't stress yourself. They'll heal.”“Still you should at least apply something.”“Amaya…” he ventured gently. “I'm sorry…I shouldn't have acted that way in your presence.”She sighed, the last glimpse of Damian's face she saw before walking off with Lucius flashing her head. She wondered what he was thinking at that moment, if he hated her more than he already did, if he would… She shook her head pushing the thoughts away. “Why did you provoke him? You know he can't hold back.”“Come with me, let's go home,” Lucius said sof
Suddenly the glass left Damian's grasp and shattered on the floor. Damian tumbled sideways and before Amaya would react, he collapsed to the floor with a dull thud. Amaya pulled him to lie on the sofa in the room. His body was burning up. She got a wet rag and pressed on his forehead sighing as she did. For a split second it crossed her mind she had been sighing the entire day. How much could she endure before the day ended? Damian moaned in his sleep. A painful moan and he incoherently mumbled names of his dead mate and father. “Father…father…father…” He grunted in his sleep, gripping onto Amaya's hand. At a point, his moans turned into low grunt and then screams. Amaya called his name and shook him awake.“Are you alright?” She asked, gently. Not seeking answers, just wanting to ensure he was alright. Damian glanced around, panting. On the realisation, a cold emptiness settled in his chest. It had only been in his nightmare. The warmth of his father he had felt was only in his
AMAYA'S POV The surface of the stream glistened as sunlight filtered above it. Its gentle flow seemed to whisper unspoken words. By the edge, Amaya sat. She could barely see the flow but she knew it was flowing. At least that's what her science teacher told her. Whoever thought to include the stream or to let it be while the house was built did a great deed. It was like a storm inside her and she had taken a sudden yet much needed walk and stumbled upon the stream. If she knew there was such a place in the mansion she would have taken this walk a long time. She reached towards a small pebble beside her and threw into the stream. The stream protested with delicate splashes eliciting ripples that extended outward. She stared at the ripples with somber stillness, her expression pensive as though the ripples mirrored the turmoil within her. A strand of her hair fell and she tucked it back behind her ear and inhaled. She had never felt so many contrasting feelings in one day. What was
AMAYA'S POV Lucius got Westwood back as Damian promised him. A few days after that, he came to see me. “I know I'm a coward for saying this now…but actually I had used your friend to fool you.”“I know.”He was surprised at first but smiled a sad smile. “It would be weird if you didn't know, right?”“I'm sorry, Amaya. I was foolish and a coward. I should never have treated you the way I did. What sort of a bastard sold his mate to save his head?” He sighed painfully. “Do you know? I hated you way before I found out you were my mate…but I was willing to make things work for that simple fact.”He sighed and bent his head. “But you don't have to feel bad about anything now. I'm in a much better place now and it's all thanks to you.”Before he left, we broke our mate bond and rejected each other. A wave of freedom rushed through me at that point. I wondered if this was what it meant for two mates to reject themselves and not the rejection being one sided. I wished him well. He was a m
Tommy fled. Behind the market. To the place he'd told the men he borrowed from Alpha Kael and Alpha Blackridge to wait for him. “Warriors! Position, now!” He roared. No man showed. He roared again. And again. Still no man showed. He looked around to be met with silence and desolation. The weapons were lying around with no man to claim them. He ran to the shed. Their belongings were gone. To his shocking discovery, he realized the men had disappeared. He cussed and his body clenched. “You must be looking for the men you borrowed, huh?” Damian spoke. They were behind Tommy. Some meters away. Tommy looked behind him, the people that wanted him dead had caught up with him. Then to his right, towards the uncompleted building where Lyra, Alpha Kael and Alpha Blackridge were tied. To flee or to take his revenge? If he lost Lyra, he would never get Damian again and he needed to kill Kael and Blackridge for deceiving him. But he was not sure of making it out alive. Fleeing would cost his
Tommy laughed. “I knew it. A bitch like you can't be trusted.”“Neither a monster like you.” Nelo retorted as she aimed the shining dagger at him. She'd specially sharpened the edges. She wanted every pierce of it to be nothing but torture to him. “Do you think you will survive? Look around. There are hundreds of people here but no one is watching.” Tommy gestured as he took a glance around. “I don't need their help. You are dying by my hands today.” Nelo clenched. Tommy stopped, his face hardening. He would not be blamed. He gave her a lot of chances but she blew it. He did not have any intention of harming her. He admitted she was helpful not just as a spy but in giving him pleasure. She was the best he had. And for that, he would not let her die by his hands. But she was getting on his last nerves now and he didn't have that time to be patient. Damian would be arriving soon and his trap was only halfway done. “Drop the dagger and we will talk,” he warned. “I am done talking to
>>>“Nelo.” Nelo heard her name and froze. It was not Tommy's voice and she knew. Before she could turn, a thick black bag covered her face with a part of it shoved into her mouth. Two hands dragged her away. For seconds she struggled to free herself.“Damn you Tommy!” She muffled. After a while, she quit struggling and rode with the stride. Whatever happened, she was determined to end everything today. She felt her cloth and seeing that what she kept there was intact, she tightened her resolve. She heard a door creak open. Her blindfold was taken off and she saw herself inside a shop. A pretty much empty shop with a few fabrics hanging around. Her eyes danced as her mind swirled with thoughts. Why would Tommy bring her into a shop? All the memories of when he'd made her go to a secluded place just so he'd have his way with her flashed her head. For a moment images blurred and her head dizzied. Until she heard the voice of her captor. “Bitch.”He
D-DAYNelo waited to get eyes off her. She'd noticed Nelly was shooting fierce looks like her. But that was normal. She was just an obsessed psycho who hadn't gotten a touch of her real self yet. But that was not it. Amaya had been acting strange too. Which was worrisome. She decided she'd trash it out with her, whatever it was, as soon as returned from seeing Tommy. Tommy asked to meet up. Of course no one in her shoes would have agreed to meet a man that was in the hunting book of Damian. A man that was a horror to her But as he'd always done, Tommy had threatened her. He'd sworn to never let her be free. How much longer would he use her?Reporting Damian’s movement wasn't enough and now he wanted to meet her. Her body stiffened as the memories flooded in. His hands on her, the feel of him inside her. She hated that he used her as much as he pleased and hated herself for offering herself to him. She was disgusted every time he touched her, every single time he spun her and rammed
“You won't be going.”Damian was startled by a voice as he dropped the call. Without turning, his senses provided him the answer. “I have to save her and stop that bastard from hurting more people,” he said as he finally turned around. Nelly flared up. “No. You won't. Why would you save someone like her? She betrayed you!”“You don't know for sure. Those words came from Nello. She is not the most innocent person. She could be lying.”“What would she gain from that?”“What did she gain by betraying her friend?” He made to walk past but Nelly blocked him. “Still, you shouldn't go…” her voice was pleading. “I–I can't bear to see you get hurt. I would go crazy. It would kill me.”Damian observed her. Then he sighed. He was thinking Nelly had gotten over her crush on him but it seemed she hadn't. He held her shoulders. “Look Nelly, I cannot allow Tommy to be roaming around my Pack before people get hurt. I must catch him.”“I never said he should be allowed to live. I want him dead more t
Tommy tied up Alpha Kael and Blackridge after making them surrender. To save their lives, they'd agreed to let him use some of their men as he demanded. “You have lost, Tommy. You will never win,” Kael gritted as he sat with his back tied together with Blackridge:s back. Tommy laughed at him. “No Kael. I have not lost and I will not lose. I will make sure of that.”Blackridge suddenly burst into laughter eliciting a deep frown from Tommy. After some time, he stopped. “You are still delusional. You will never win Damian. You are a fuvking loser!”“Is that what you hope?” Tommy asked with a chuckle. Well, he could understand. They were helpless at the moment and their only hope would be hoping that Damian saved their arse. “What did you do to Balus?” Kael asked. Tommy's lips looped as he briefly recalled how it happened. “He was a senseless fool with a lot of pride. Friendly advice. Try not to end up like him.”“You are a bastard! You are a fucking monster!”Tommy ignored their rant
AMAYA’S POV “Make sure to take her back safely,” Damain ordered the guard and darted off. “Wait! What's going on?” I yelled. How could he just leave me here and dash off without saying anything? I was going after him when I stumbled on a stone I hadn't seen and plummeted to the ground. My eyes became heavy and hazy. Things grew blurry and all of a sudden, several voices echoed in my head at once. I shut my eyes and a serious headache attacked me. Different kinds of memories bombarded me, it made my head ached. I could see the guard before me. His head had grown double and his mouth was moving. He was saying things but I only heard muffles. I passed out. I woke up an hour later and found myself in my room. Surrounded by faces I recognized. I panicked. “You are awake,” the doctor said. She was the same doctor that treated me before. “Are you okay?” she asked. “Yes…yes.” I tried to get up but realized the spot I knocked my foot against the rock was wounded. I groaned receiving hel
“No… Uncle…don't say anything please…”“Damian, I killed your father.”Damian felt his throat dry up immediately. For a moment, his ribs neither took in any air nor expelled any. Silent turmoil over took him. He'd already suspected this was what his uncle was going to confess. He'd dreaded it and tried to avoid hearing it. But in the end he couldn’t stop the truth from being the truth. He looked away as a stray tear slipped down his face. “I won't ask for your forgiveness… I don't deserve it…”“Why? Why did you do it?” his voice was raw and his amber eyes had darkened. A surge of anger made him shake inside. “I wanted him to approve a new law. I killed someone but it was all by mistake, I swear it. It was never intentional. Before that night, the news was already set to break out in the Pack. All I wanted was for your father to protect me as his brother.”“You wanted him to hide you!” His emotions went loose. Uncle Griffin closed his eyes and silently cried. “Yes, you are right. I w
