Sydney's POV
"Where the hell have you been?" Jeffrey yelled when I came into view."I'm so so sorry. I couldn't get a cab so I had to get here-""I don't want to hear it, Sydney," he fumed."Let me just get to work on that dining table now. I'm very sorry," I apologized again. He snapped his fingers. "No, someone's already working on that." He took a tray containing a cup and bottle of champagne and handed it to me. "Serve the man this. He's in room 206. Since Cheryl is also running late, you'll be his personal server today instead of her."Noting everything important, I went in the direction of the room. But still heard him mutter, "What is wrong with these women?"I so wanted to break all the glass in this tray on his head. Unfortunately, I was too far already and it would be suspicious that I heard him from that distance. The city where the Moon Rise pack settled was also heavily populated with humans. If it weren't that way, the humans would get nosey. One of the many things I hated about this job apart from the low pay was Jeffrey. I used to think my aunt was a stuck-up bitch till I met this guy. If only I could find a better job and leave this place."You're a very fast waitress, Sydney. Good job," Jeffrey once said. "But no raises for you."I comforted myself with thoughts of killing him one day. Hopefully, I would live to do that. As I needed the room of the VIP guest, I changed my thoughts to positive ones. I didn't want to be angry when I met him or it would affect my service."Room service!" I said after knocking with my toes. Once I got the go-ahead to enter, I opened the door with my elbow and went in.The scent of fresh rain hit me as I closed the door. Rain was relaxing to me and I particularly loved the scent of it. My coworkers thought I was nuts whenever I showed up to work drenched in the rainy season. The most magnificent emerald green eyes roamed my face as I stared at his physique. For the first time in six years, I was attracted to a man. I wondered how that beautiful pale skin would feel. I was staring at a male version of Snow White. His muscles almost looked edible as I studied him till I got to the towel. Oh my goodness, he was fresh out the shower! I averted my eyes quickly before I could register his V-line."You can serve the alcohol now," he said, pointing at the table in the middle of the suite."Sure," I muttered. After pouring his champagne into the glass, I said, "You can call on me whenever you need something. For now, I'll let you get dressed." It took all I could not to ogle at him again."Oh, I'll need you to stay," he replied as if it was previously agreed. The smoothness of his voice washed over me but I raised an eyebrow. Still, I stood at the door, leaning on it.'Mate!' my wolf screamed.'You have got to be kidding me. This guy is way out of my league please.'By the time I blinked, he was inches away from me. 'Did my legs move without my knowledge or did he walk over to me?'Two heartbeats pounded in my ears, almost driving me mad. I was consumed by his gaze. When he arched his back, I stepped back last minute but he caught me by the waist. Parting his lips, he took mine.Suddenly, the pounding hearts were like a sweet melody to my ears. I enjoyed the taste of his cherry-flavored mouth as my hands traveled up his chest. I was becoming lightheaded when he stopped suddenly."Mate," his beautiful mouth whispered."Mate," I whispered back, smiling no doubt stupidly.Taking me with him to the bed, he sat me down on his lap. "What's your name?"I battled within myself before saying, "Sydney Leonard.""Alexander Grayson."I felt like a specimen in a petri dish as he studied me. But it was more of a warm gaze like he had been waiting for me his whole life.Almost an hour later, I got to know that he was the Alpha of a neighboring pack who came to officially sign a deal to be allied with the Moon Rise pack. He was very funny and I almost laughed myself to embarrassment while we talked. Alexander carried me the whole time while I subtly touched his alluring skin to get the feel of it. I just hoped I wasn't giving off the vibes of a creep."Shouldn't you get ready for your meeting? You shouldn't be late," I said worriedly. He raised an eyebrow. "I want to know you better. They can wait a bit."My stomach flipped and I hung my head to hide what I was sure was an obvious tinge of red on my cheeks. My face was burning at this point. "Yeah. But you shouldn't keep them waiting, plus I have to work a bit. And you can't come all the way here and leave without achieving anything."My words fell on dead ears because he just grinned some more and drew me closer as if we weren't close enough already. "But I found you. That's more than an achievement."I cleared my suddenly dry throat. One thing I discovered in such a short period was that Alexander was a big flirt. He did it so smoothly, I almost orgasmed. As I waited for him to dress, I smiled to myself. Maybe there's a light to this life of mine. It felt like I had known him forever. The way he held me seemed so familiar. If only he could get to know me in other places too.My hands flew to my mouth when he stepped out of the bathroom. He was in a navy blue suit that fit him so well he looked like a sex god. "Wow," was all I could say. Whatever cologne he had on smelled like whiskey. I loved whiskey."Up," came his deep voice with his hand outstretched.I finally concentrated enough to realize he wanted us to walk out together. "No, we can't," I protested, disengaging myself from him. "I should figure this out better first. And don't forget about the humans."He nodded. His head dipped and he sucked my lips in, kissing me passionately before he opened the door and stepped out while I followed with the tray in hand.As his designated waitress, I served him mostly at the table and he made me stay close in case he needed anything but those were just opportunities to graze my skin with his fingers. Cheryl almost killed me with her stares. The moment I had a break, she asked, "Why are you so interested in him? You should know better than this, Sydney. And before you deny it, I caught you trying to catch his eye."This woman had been against me since my first day here and I really wasn't having it. Today, she'd crossed a line. "We both know you're the only one here who's trying to catch his eye. Leave me out of your rubbish, Cheryl. I'm not the reason he's failed to notice you."She opened her mouth to speak but Jeff came. "You!" he pointed at me. "Mr. Grayson is ready to leave the dining hall and he's looking for you. Why did you leave your duty post in the first place?" Knowing Jeffrey, I didn't wait for him to continue yelling. Poor Cheryl.Alexander was indeed ready to leave and he stood up as soon as he sighted me. It still baffled me that the Moon goddess would gift me such a beautiful man. I had given up on mating a long time ago.As soon as I closed the door, he attacked my lips. Biting, sucking, and grazing the walls of my mouth with his tongue. I loved the way he gripped my thigh. He sunk his teeth between my neck and shoulder abruptly but I was ready. Was this how it felt to be marked? I felt a little burning sensation and really couldn't wait to admire it later. I unbuttoned his shirt. The moment a gazed at his chest and belly, all the warmth I felt disappeared. He had tattoos. Maybe it's a lesson from the goddess to help me overcome my phobia of tattoos?"What's wrong?"I shook my head. "I'm fine. Just a little too tired and distracted." I smiled at him."You should rest here then," he suggested as he brushed my short hair from my face.My eyes widened. My kids! How could I have forgotten that my shift was over and it was time to go home and feed them?"Sorry, I can't. I need to go home and feed my kids," I said hurriedly. He appeared confused. "You have kids?""Yeah.""I can't accept that," he said, suddenly angry."What are you talking about?""Sydney Leonard, I'm rejecting you as my mate."Tears filled my eyes. Maybe it was a repeated dream. I felt my body hit something cold before my eyelids glued together.AlexanderMy hair was locked in a harsh and firm grip as she pulled my head down, neck snapping in hurt. "What's the meaning of this?" I chuckled. This woman always bullied me."Don't try to act oblivious! You're spending time with her!" she squealed. Fanning herself with her palm, her grin widened. "I'm so happy.""That your matchmaking worked, Mother?""Yeah," she drawled. Her hands clapped like those of an excited little girl. "I'm the best you can find out there." Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, but she winked in a suggestive manner but either way, I ignored it. This conversation was odd enough.Walking around me to the kettle and putting some water to boil, she turned to face me again but kept staring. "You're such a good boy," she sniffed.I remembered the first time she said that."You're such a good boy, sweetheart," Mother praised me after I helped her do something in the kitchen. She held me close to her chest before giving me some chocolate. A few hours after that, h
Sydney My body is forced from inertia and I almost had a heart attack, my eyes scanned my environment rapidly and I found myself in the hotel room and Alexander was sleeping snuggly beside me. My eyes flew to the window and my body followed, I opened it to let the cool wind hit me and then I realized I needed to get my night dress. After I putting it on, I returned to the window to admire the stars but my heart was troubled, it was another nightmare.'Sydney, I need you to calm down.' I heard Reika speak, her calm voice was dipped in worry. If she worried then I had the right to go into full panic mode."Did you see that?!" Tears were forced out of my being, "I can't do this anymore." 'Calm down I said, we do not know what it means.' "Alexander was dead! What do you mean we don't know what it means?! Reika please," I sniffed loudly as I watched the busy streets, cars were still zooming and the nightlife had an euphoric effect on me, eventually relaxing me.'You trust your mate right
Sydney "Are you done with your food?" His eyes never left the crazy ass couple and he can't be blamed, they attracted a lot of attraction, especially the woman who acted like a bitch. Sometimes I wonder where the word empathy journeyed to, but in the end, it was none of my business.I looked at my plate and took one last bite at the chicken and smiled heartily at my date, "yes I am done, do you want to eat me next?" My corny joke forced a dirty smile out of him and I instantly started regretting, "Alexander no." I got to my feet in a haste and moved as fast as my legs to carry me but he grabbed by arm just as I passed him and pulled me to sit on his thighs, "pervert."His smile only widened and signalled to the waiter that we were done, he gave the polite man his black card and this hinted the waiter not to delay, "I'm glad you enjoyed dinner…""I'll enjoy anything as long as I'm with you." I placed a lofty kiss on his lips and pulled away before he started asking for more. The bill w
Alexander She giggled and came over to me. "It's time I show you how my tongue works." She said with her hands placed on my hard dipstick. "It's long and hard." She smiled and touched it, she rubbed it and stared at me. Her eyes widened at its size and length. I chuckled. She wouldn't be the first to be surprised at the length and width. It's the same face that they all have. She placed her hands on my dipstick and I moaned. Her hands were as soft as anything. I loved how she stroked on it, with her eyes on mine. That was a bonus. The eyes contact. I smiled hard as she worked her way. I gulped in anticipation. I wanted her to suck it. But all she did was kiss it and smile.I chuckled, I knew what she was doing and she knew too. My eyes were on her like a hawk, my breath increased and I had already begged her like ten times in my head for her to suck it. The precum already came out. She stroked it hard. She laughed and said, "fine, let's see who is better at this." I knew she would
Alexander My hands were on her shoulders still, I stared into her eyes and I placed my hands on her neck as though I wanted to kiss her. I saw how fast she blinked and how her breathing was. I loved how she acted, teasing her won't be a problem. It would be fun. "Whatever, it's fine." She replied to me and I knew I wasn't going to let this slide, her boobs called out to me and I knew something had to be done."I saw a lint on your hair and I needed a clear view." I said as a joke and I saw how her eyes widened in disbelief."Oh." The low tone she said in showed she wanted more and longed for more. It was funny and I dared not laugh. I removed my hands from her neck, her lips were tempting and they looked absolutely soft. I wanted them in mine, but I wanted to take things slow. I wanted her on a roller coaster of feelings. Sdyney tried to move away, I pulled her in and kissed her. I didn't know when my hands moved up to support her neck, her hands were wrapped around my neck. Her li
Sydney. We got home very late, it was past nine pm. The horror of the silent yet sweet car ride was over and a part of me wanted it to continue still. I saw the boys footwear as we walked in, I knew they would already be home but the relief that I had when I saw the footwear was needed. I remembered how happy and excited the twins were. I exhaled for relief, things did turn around for the better."We are home in one piece." Alexander said and I nodded, I wanted to say the words believe me but nothing, I mean nothing came out."Yes, we are." I gulped as I replied. I gave a faint smile, I avoided eye contact for a while but I could feel his stares on me."It seems like everyone is asleep, I will check the- the kitchen for whatever dinner that was prepared and I will set the table." I said to him as I adjusted my bag strap, I tried to ignore the dress I had on but I loved how he looked at me."Yes, I noticed that too, I would appreciate that." He replied as he nodded, his eyes were on me
Alexander. The silence we shared wasn't something so bad. It was just right. I wouldn't have preferred it any other way."Wow- wow- wow Hey, where are you taking them too?" I asked my mum as she walked with Asher and Nick, those are my best friends and she was taking them to only God knows where.'Time flies, doesn't it?' Lyall teased and I ignored him, I rolled my eyes, I maintained my straight face.'I thought you would be excited, you are beginning to get fond of these kids. It will be a quiet afternoon and you can finally talk to Sydney and have a spicy time.' Lyall added and I knew he wanted nothing but a troublemaker. I just smiled to ignore him."I need time to let off steam." She replied and I shook my head. "I am taking them out, an afternoon date." She shrugged as she spoke, she sounded so happy, relieved too. I got jealous, very actually. She gets to spend time with them. Her eyebrows went higher and she waved goodbye."Have fun!" Sdyney added as she laid back. "Bye mummy!"
Sydney's POV I stood apart as I looked at Alex and Mrs Grayson, Alex and I had our argument again, It drained me whenever we had our fights. It always tore me apart and I didn't like it one bit. The things we argued about were never supposed to be, but they did. Most days I didn't know if we loved each other. It was always a tug of war. I didn't like how we were. I was beginning to enjoy being here with his mother. We love each other but arguments like that was always a whirlwind.Alex?! Alex?! Come here this minute!" Mrs Grayson called out to Alex. I knew someone would come and take charge or at least change the situation. It was getting too much, the fights and arguments that never seemed to end and to be honest, it drained me. I sighed and I watched."I want to talk to you for a while okay?" She added as she stood by the door and watched. She was angry and tired. She hated how we acted especially in front of the kids. She saw how Nick was, she saw that we had upset her grandchild.
Sydney's POVHe didn't put me down. Instead, the man kissed my collarbone and gave it a light lick. "What's wrong?" he asked.I almost caved in but I managed to stand my ground. Or at least hug my ground in this case. "I don't want to proceed."The frown that creased his forehead would have changed my mind in a matter of seconds but the scene replaying in my mind was against that. Kicking at his waist, I wished he'd let me go already. I didn't wish to cry in front of him and my eyelids could barely keep the tears back."Tell me what's wrong, Sydney." Sounded more like an order."You rejected me. The last time we were this close to something, you rejected me. Remember?" I blurted out.Sighing, he let me go. Gathering my clothes — both the torn and whole — I ran as fast as I could as tear droplets let loose on my face.I ran into my room like a child running from a monster. I just couldn't do it. No matter how much I wanted him, I didn't believe he would want me that way. After all, he d
