Back in her Body

The night air felt heavy with tension. The Northwood pack remained quiet, but everyone was on edge and watchful, especially after Nyra’s father's enigmatical appearance.

Deep in the cursed woods of the shadowed Nightbounds, an altar made of burnt bones stood beneath a blood-red moon. A dreaded mist swept through the trees as Nyra’s father, shrouded in darkness, faced the still body of his precious daughter.

It looked pale and lifeless, yet somehow it was cautiously preserved, as if they had been waiting for this moment all along.

Around him, the Night-Bound Assassins murmured ancient chants, stamping their feet on the ground causing an enormous stampede. They were numerous in their numbers. The ground trembles and the trees swirl at the gush of the wind.

“Bring her,” he commanded, his voice low and harsh.

From the shadows, two of his men dragged in Gladys. She was barely awake, her body bruised and shaking. Even though May and the others had tried to weaken Nyra’s hold, and held pa

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   More than just a treat

The ritual chamber felt much colder than the rest of Northwoods. The stone walls felt alive, due to the presence breeding in this particular chamber. Serene yet unreal. Torches flickered along the circular walls, their flames trembling in the air, as if aware of the upcoming storm or uncanny possibility.Aether was the first to step inside, his broad shoulders obstructing the entrance until I managed to slip past him. Aria was already making her way to the center dais, her cloak trailing behind her magnificently. Right in the middle of the dais I saw the bottle, it looked well sealed with Shadowed force—Elira’s force. Which if bridged can get the bottle broken, stolen, or misplaced. The presence of the bottle was heavy, almost like it had its own heartbeat. “Elira’s spirit is under siege,” Aria began, as she got close to the ancient bottle, her voice sharp and urgent. “We need to protect her before Nyra’s father breaks her will.”I swallowed hard and stepped closer. “What do you nee

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   In between the Lines

I couldn’t sleep at all that night as I walked back to my room. My fingers kept twisting the edge of my bedsheet, and my mind wouldn’t settle down. What was Andrew thinking after seeing that? Honestly, I didn’t know what was worse—Castillo’s kiss or the guilt that crept up my spine since Andrew caught us. I mean, I didn’t even like Castillo like that anymore. But the kiss… the timing… His lips felt so soft and alluring for a man with such a build, I won’t let him try such with me again. He is my past. And Andrew, he didn't even give me a chance to explain, he just ran off like he had seen a time bomb ticking to explode. It had been two days since we last spoke.I told myself it was okay. He wasn’t mine. There were no labels between us, no promises. But still, I cared—a lot. I cared about what he thought, how he felt. I kept replaying that look in his eyes when he saw Castillo lips on mine—the pain, the confusion, the silence. It stuck with me.Then, two days later, a cool breeze r

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   Can you please not tell him?

I turned away from May’s cold dismissal, my jaw tight, fists clenched. The air around me thickened, the afternoon breeze blew solemnly and the mountains were peaceful. Since it has gotten to this, my good now seems like reproach before May, it’s best I let her be. Nyra should do whatever she likes, I muttered. Before I could take another step, I heard her voice. Turning around, there she was—Nyra, in her full twisted beauty. Her long black dress fluttered as if caught in a storm only she could summon. Beside her stood two shadowed figures, horrible and reeking of death.“We had a deal but you went ahead to blurt everything out to May, now do you see how stupid you look?” She continued, her voice purring from the distance.“We had no deal! All you did was threaten me and I told you clearly that I don’t succumb to threats!” I yelled. “Your mouth is sharper than your sword, let me see how far you can go dear Alpha,” she uttered laughing loudlyMy eyes raged furiously, as one of the a

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   A deal with the devil

I paced back and forth on the empty training field, the wind pulling at my hair as my mind raced. The sting of betrayal from Ceryn still burned deep within me. But nothing could have prepared me for what Nelson just told me, for what emerged from the shadows.Nyra.She appeared like a cluster of smoke, her presence dark as always, yet she looked oddly calm. Dressed in a jet black gown that hugged her curves, her faintly glowing violet eyes caught the moonlight. Unlike the last time I saw her, she looked incredibly beautiful, and her skin was flawless. Something must have happened to her body; it must have been properly preserved. She didn’t come with fury or does it look like she came to fight, instead, she came with a proposition.“Castillo,” she purred, arms crossed akimbo as she called out with delight to me like an old acquaintance. “I’m not here to fight. Not yet, anyway.”I tensed up. “Then why’d you come? You didn’t come to fight but you killed two of my scouts?”“Oh they trie

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   A hint of Regret

CASTILLO’s POV*The cold wind whipping outside my chamber did nothing to cool the fire raging inside me. I stared into the dark sky, my fists clenched tight at my sides. Every word Maybel had said earlier echoed in my mind. “Ceryn was behind it all.”I should’ve seen it coming. I did see it, but once again I decided to trust her. Since I selected her for myself, since I chose her over May, just maybe I can still stick with her hoping that she’s truly changed. But I was mistaken, I was fooled, I was betrayed again and again. I let my heart drown out my instincts. Now I can’t even look Aether in the eye cause he mocked me about letting her in again, I can’t get close to May— she warned me about her. “Dear Moon Goddess, why let me suffer this way!” I cried out. “It was only one bad decision, just one! Why does it have to hunt me over and over again?”Rejecting May was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I’m sure my late mum in her grave would be restless, because of how senseless

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   Knowing the truth

I walked outside, blood still dripping from the blades in my hand as I stood beside Elira, our breaths ragged from the fight. The bodies of the guards lay scattered, their weapons clustered all over the dungeon floor. The cold air was thick with smoke and the smell of blood. Then, the echo of hurried footsteps filled the silence.Aether and Andrew and behind them Castillo, Laziel, and Nelson followed suit with other warrior wolves, fifty in number. They stormed into the dungeon like a force of nature, their wolves trailing behind with snarls in their throats and rage in their eyes.“Maybel!” Aether called, his eyes scanning me for wounds. “Oh my baby, I hope you aren’t injured. How did you manage to escape? Did you do this all by yourself?” he asked curiously, his eyes filled with worry. Elira and I did it. She came just in time to assist me, I said, gesturing at Elira, who stood at the side panting heavily.Laziel and three warriors walked towards the inner dungeon only to see Cery
