LOGIN“Mate?” Olivia. An omega. Pack’s runt. Pushed and taunted. A small white wolf. Olivia had a mate, one she was so excited to meet, she was 18. Her mate, an alpha, rejected her, abused her for years. She had finally found an out, she finally escaped. Running from her past, she stumbled on rogues that were about to kill her, she accepted that she was going to die, until an alpha saved her. The unknown alpha turned out to be her second chance mate. Olivia wasn't ready for a mate, especially not an alpha mate. She didn't want him. Alphas always hurt omega, this one isn't any different. There was one problem. The mate bond. Olivia couldn't deny it much longer. Would she be able to fight it? Would she give in to it? Would she reject the alpha?

Running. I just kept running; I couldn't stop, not now, not ever. My white fur was padding the wet floor with a speed I didn't recognize. I was very tired, running out of breath, but I couldn't stop. “You can rest for a bit, Olivia." "My wolf," Liana said in my head. I could hear the fear in her voice. She was equally as scared as I was. As for my wolf side, she is my companion, my best friend; she always thought she had to be strong for both of us. As an omega, we were classified as the weakest in the pack, runts; we were useless to the pack. During wars, we were sent to hide. I sighed and replied to Liana, "What if they catch up to us?” Liana whimpered and retreated into my mind. I wish I could go into someone's mind and just hide. My body felt weak as I kept pushing myself to run. Looking ahead, I saw a river. I almost cried out of relief. I pushed myself faster to the small pond. Getting to the pond, I could see my reflection. I looked so scrawny; my white fur was pretty much brown already. I closed my eyes and lapped at the water. After drinking water to my fill, I decided to take Liana's advice to rest. I lay on my side, closed my eyes, and slept against my will. Before long,I saw myself back there. On the cold tiles of the cell I was in, I was chained in wolf bane. Silver bane is the worst thing to happen to a wolf; I couldn't shift, and my wolf couldn't heal my wounds. I just lay there, shivering. I smelt his scent before I saw him, a scent that was heaven to me now felt very horrible; the door of the cell creaked open as he announced his presence with his brown boots. I whimpered and curled into myself further. He scoffed, “You're weak; this is why I rejected you. You're useless!" He sneered as his boots slammed against my side. Groaning, I clutched my rib as tears ran down my face; the previous bruise there wasn't even healed. "Please," I whispered. “Oh baby, you'll be begging me more than this soon." My heart stopped because I knew what was coming; the tears wouldn't stop. "Please, don't..." I managed to get out; he ignored me. I figured talking won't help; I didn't have the strength. When it was over, he stepped away. I lay there, with tears in my eyes, legs trembling. Gasping, I woke up with fear, my heart beating fast. I needed to continue running; I couldn't let him catch up to me. I felt a bit better, as my joints felt relaxed; I was sure I had been running for 5 hours with no destination. My mind went to the reason I'm here. James. Alpha James. The alpha of the Blue Moon pack. My ex-mate. When I turned 18, I was excited to find my mate. I knew he was in the same pack I was; I could feel it. The day I found out James was my mate, I was ecstatic; James wasn't. He didn't like the idea of being mated to a weak omega. His eyes regarded me with distaste as I remembered the exact words he said when he rejected me: “I, James, alpha of Blue Moon pack, reject you as my mate and Luna." I remember falling to the floor as the pain held me in a chokehold. He didn't look like he was in any pain; if he was, he masked it well. As if rejecting me wasn't enough, he ordered his beta to seize me and take me to the dungeon in the pack house. He hated me so much. I was always beaten by him or his beta or both. He also forced himself on him as frequently as he could; he wouldn't let me go. My wolf was dying from all the wolfbane. Last night, I finally found a way to escape after months of planning; I had been running since then. I knew he was looking for me. If he finds me, he'll kill me. Pulling myself out of my thoughts, I slowed down as I realized I was in a forest; it was dark; it looked like midnight. I jumped when I heard a stick break. Looking around, I didn't see anything. "Run," Liana said. I didn't need to be told twice; I ran. I heard a growl, no, growls. I didn't look back; I just ran. They were catching up to me; I could feel it. They smelt like rogues; they probably smelt that I was Omega. One of them jumped and landed on my back. I let out a shriek as I was pinned to the floor by the wolf with red eyes. I looked around and saw 4 others; they looked crazy and hungry. I whispered as they stalked closer to me with slow, precise steps. I couldn't fight them off; they knew that. Realizing that this was going to be the way I died, I closed my eyes. "I love you, Liana; I'm sorry I couldn't protect us," I whispered to her. “It's not your fault; I didn't protect us. I'm so sorry!" I didn't reply to her; there was no need to. The wolf that had me pinned snarled, raised his paw, and let it hit my face, his fangs scratching my fur. The other rogue wolves stalked closer, and they all preyed on me together. I closed my eyes again, expecting the strike. I felt fangs scratch my stomach; I was drifting already; I was so tired. As my eyes closed for good, I saw a black wolf with fur that shone. His power radiated even from afar; he stood taller than the other two he was standing with. “Please, save me," I thought, as my eyes finally gave up and I drifted off.LUCIAN’S POV: I couldn’t sleep. I looked at Olivia that was tucked safely beneath me, her breathing slow and even. I placed a kiss on her forehead, standing up to the balcony. I needed fresh air. It’s been 4 days since the attack on Olivia, she came home on the second day, she didn’t let me dote over her like a baby, she wanted me to forget about everything that happened. Unfortunately, I couldn’t forget about it. Seeing her on that floor still replayed in my head like a broken record. I still felt guilty that I couldn’t protect my mate. I sighed. Alex woke up on the second day of the whole thing, I immediately went to question him. ***The day Lucian questioned Alex***“Alpha”, Lena called quietly from where I was holding Olivia’s hand, she was sleeping. I gently let her hand rest at her side before standing up to meet Lena. “Alex is awake”, She said. My gaze went down the hall, “Which room is he in?”, I asked, my hand fisting up into a ball as I tried to contain my anger. “T-
OLIVIA’S POV: My eyes slowly opened. For a few seconds, I couldn’t remember where I was. The ceiling above me was unfamiliar, the smell of medicine filled my nose, and there was a strange heaviness in my body. Then the pain came, sharp and sudden, making me gasp as my hand instinctively moved toward my stomach. “Easy.”, I turned my head and saw Lena sitting beside me, “You’re at the pack clinic.” Judging by the things attached to me, she wasn’t wrong. I blinked slowly, and then the memories came rushing back. The door. The man. The knife. The blood. I gasped. “Lucian…” My voice was barely audible. “He’s coming,” Lena assured me. I closed my eyes, trying to breathe through the pain. I could feel him through the mate bond. He was close, very close, and I could sense the turmoil in him. Anger, fear, guilt. All of it was tangled together. “I was almost killed”, I said suddenly, my lips wobbly. Lena’s gaze turned sympathetic, “Yes, I know”, she said, her hand covering mine. I m
LUCIAN’S POV: “Where is he?” I asked. My voice was calm. Too calm. Jimmy looked at me for a moment before answering. “I’m not sure, Alpha. He was assigned to the eastern side of the territory earlier today.” “By who?”The whole hall was silent now. “Beta Tyler” My eyes narrowed, Tyler wasn’t here, he was at the patrol ground, making rounds, I didn’t call him because I didn’t think he was needed, but apparently not. “Get me Tyler”, I say to no one in particular. One of the warriors immediately took off. I looked around the meeting ground, watching as everyone remained unusually quiet. Nobody dared speak after seeing the look on my face. My eyes went back to Jimmy. “You said you’ve seen Alex use this handkerchief before?” “Yes, Alpha.” He said I could sense his fear. “How often?” “Almost every day after training. He usually keeps it in his back pocket.” I nodded slowly. “Does he use anything else?” Jimmy thought for a moment before shaking his head. “No. Just that.” I nod
LUCIAN’S POV: My eyes snapped open, Max was whining in my head, he could feel it, I could too; something was terribly wrong. A weight weighed on the mate bond in an uncomfortable way. Olivia! In a swift moment, I slammed her room door open. “Olivia!”, Nothing. I went downstairs, I could smell vanilla in the air and…. blood! My nose flared as I followed the scent, it didn’t take long before I found my mate on the floor, laying down in a pool of her own blood, her beautiful eyes closed. “No,no!”My heart raced as I shakily went to her, carrying her in my arms. I didn’t need to wonder why she did heal herself , the wound was very deep and wide, it only brought me to one question, who did this?As much as I would have liked to keep her away from the outside world and never let her out of my sight, I had to take her to Lena’s, I needed to pull myself together. I immediately applied pressure on the wound, I opened the door, balancing her in my arms, I ran to the pack clinic. I got looks
Lucian's POV:“This is your fault, you scared mate away”. Max said, accusingly."I didn't know! I just wanted to help” I shouted in my head as I remembered how my mate looked so scared of me. The fear in her eyes haunted me. I didn't know why she was so scared, I didn't want to hurt her. Max rest
Olivia's POV:Lights. It was too bright. It made me feel woozy, I lifted my hand to touch my head, I noticed a drip, looking around the memory came rushing in. I remembered that a strange man said he was my mate, Liana confirmed it too; I was sure there was some sort of mistake somewhere, I needed
Lucian's POV: Mate? I looked at the wolf again, touching her felt electrical, I felt sparks. But how was this possible? Second chance mates were close to non-existent. I felt max in my mind again, “Max?" I tried again. I wasn't expecting a reply, “learn to put some fate in me kid" I heard him grun
Lucian's POV:I hated waking up in the mornings. I sighed as my alarm rang and rang. I groaned as I willed it off. I heard my room door open, I knew who came in, my sister, she was the only one who entered my room at will. “Lucian?!!" she screamed my name. Groaning, “I'm right here, why are you scr
