Olivia's POV:

Running. I just kept running; I couldn't stop, not now, not ever. My white fur was padding the wet floor with a speed I didn't recognize. I was very tired, running out of breath, but I couldn't stop.

“You can rest for a bit, Olivia." "My wolf," Liana said in my head. I could hear the fear in her voice. She was equally as scared as I was. As for my wolf side, she is my companion, my best friend; she always thought she had to be strong for both of us.

As an omega, we were classified as the weakest in the pack, runts; we were useless to the pack. During wars, we were sent to hide.

I sighed and replied to Liana, "What if they catch up to us?” Liana whimpered and retreated into my mind. I wish I could go into someone's mind and just hide. My body felt weak as I kept pushing myself to run. Looking ahead, I saw a river. I almost cried out of relief. I pushed myself faster to the small pond. Getting to the pond, I could see my reflection. I looked so scrawny; my white fur was pretty much brown already. I closed my eyes and lapped at the water.

After drinking water to my fill, I decided to take Liana's advice to rest. I lay on my side, closed my eyes, and slept against my will. Before long,I saw myself back there.

On the cold tiles of the cell I was in, I was chained in wolf bane. Silver bane is the worst thing to happen to a wolf; I couldn't shift, and my wolf couldn't heal my wounds. I just lay there, shivering. I smelt his scent before I saw him, a scent that was heaven to me now felt very horrible; the door of the cell creaked open as he announced his presence with his brown boots. I whimpered and curled into myself further. He scoffed, “You're weak; this is why I rejected you. You're useless!" He sneered as his boots slammed against my side. Groaning, I clutched my rib as tears ran down my face; the previous bruise there wasn't even healed. "Please," I whispered. “Oh baby, you'll be begging me more than this soon." My heart stopped because I knew what was coming; the tears wouldn't stop. "Please, don't..." I managed to get out; he ignored me. I figured talking won't help; I didn't have the strength. When it was over, he stepped away. I lay there, with tears in my eyes, legs trembling.

Gasping, I woke up with fear, my heart beating fast. I needed to continue running; I couldn't let him catch up to me. I felt a bit better, as my joints felt relaxed; I was sure I had been running for 5 hours with no destination. My mind went to the reason I'm here.

James. Alpha James. The alpha of the Blue Moon pack. My ex-mate. When I turned 18, I was excited to find my mate. I knew he was in the same pack I was; I could feel it. The day I found out James was my mate, I was ecstatic; James wasn't. He didn't like the idea of being mated to a weak omega. His eyes regarded me with distaste as I remembered the exact words he said when he rejected me: “I, James, alpha of Blue Moon pack, reject you as my mate and Luna." I remember falling to the floor as the pain held me in a chokehold. He didn't look like he was in any pain; if he was, he masked it well. As if rejecting me wasn't enough, he ordered his beta to seize me and take me to the dungeon in the pack house. He hated me so much. I was always beaten by him or his beta or both. He also forced himself on him as frequently as he could; he wouldn't let me go. My wolf was dying from all the wolfbane. Last night, I finally found a way to escape after months of planning; I had been running since then. I knew he was looking for me. If he finds me, he'll kill me.

Pulling myself out of my thoughts, I slowed down as I realized I was in a forest; it was dark; it looked like midnight. I jumped when I heard a stick break. Looking around, I didn't see anything. "Run," Liana said. I didn't need to be told twice; I ran. I heard a growl, no, growls. I didn't look back; I just ran. They were catching up to me; I could feel it. They smelt like rogues; they probably smelt that I was Omega.

One of them jumped and landed on my back. I let out a shriek as I was pinned to the floor by the wolf with red eyes. I looked around and saw 4 others; they looked crazy and hungry. I whispered as they stalked closer to me with slow, precise steps. I couldn't fight them off; they knew that.

Realizing that this was going to be the way I died, I closed my eyes. "I love you, Liana; I'm sorry I couldn't protect us," I whispered to her. “It's not your fault; I didn't protect us. I'm so sorry!" I didn't reply to her; there was no need to.

The wolf that had me pinned snarled, raised his paw, and let it hit my face, his fangs scratching my fur. The other rogue wolves stalked closer, and they all preyed on me together. I closed my eyes again, expecting the strike. I felt fangs scratch my stomach; I was drifting already; I was so tired. As my eyes closed for good, I saw a black wolf with fur that shone. His power radiated even from afar; he stood taller than the other two he was standing with.

“Please, save me," I thought, as my eyes finally gave up and I drifted off.

LUCIAN’S POV:The moment the doors opened, the sound of thousands of conversations hit us. Then almost instantly, there was silence. Every head had turned towards us. I felt Olivia’s breath shake. Her fingers quivering, I squeezed her hand softly in an attempt to make her feel better. It worked because she stopped breathing heavily. Now, as I glanced at her, she looked nervous, but she faced the crowd, her shoulders were straight, her chin slightly raised. I smiled in relief and proudness to myself. She was doing so much better than she anticipated. I watched my pack, each and everyone one of them, as we stepped into the meeting ground. It was so packed, I could barely see space in the room. I puffed my chest out proudly at the sight of how far my pack had come. The older elders were seated closest to the platform. Everyone had eyes on my mate. There were murmurs.“Who’s she?”“She’s an omega?”“She’s the one?”I could feel Olivia tensing up again. I squeezed her hand gently again,

OLIVIA’S POV: “You have such soft hair”, Valerie said. She was currently helping me style my hair. It was almost time, Lucian had announced earlier that the pack meeting would be by 8pm. “Thank you”, I whispered. I was having jitters over my body. I can’t believe this is my life. I’m about to get introduced to the pack! Who could have thought? I suddenly wondered why James didn’t do all of this. Why did he make me suffer like a slave? Tears welled up my eyes at the thought. “I promise you, he’s an asshole that’s no longer in our lives”, Liana said. “He’s out for us, Liana”, I muttered. “Pfft, Lucian would do anything to keep us safe, you should know this more than anyone”, She softly said. I nodded mentally. She was right. I didn’t give a fuck about James or whatever, he wasn’t in my life. He didn’t have a say over me. “Tada!”Valerie's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked at her, she was sporting a wide smile that was suspicious. I quickly knew why, she had a full mak

OLIVIA’S POV:I was freaking out like crazy. For a minute, I was on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Warm sunlight peaking through the curtains. My heart was beating so fast. The pack introduction. I groaned, pulling the blanket over my face, as if it’ll somehow make the day disappear. Oh, I wish. My stomach was already twisting, and I hadn’t even gone out of bed. “You’re being dramatic”, Liana said lazily in my head. I scoffed, “Easy for you to say, you’re not the one facing a thousand people”“See? Dramatic. You’re just scared, Olivia”, she said softly. She was right. I didn’t know these people and they didn’t know me. Yet, the thought of their opinions was enough to make me shake. I finally pushed the blanket I was hiding beneath away. Today, I was going to stand beside Lucian, not as a random Omega, but as a random omega that was his mate. I’m so freaking out. I climbed out of the bed and walked to the mirror. The woman staring at me didn’t look particularly intimidating, m

  • Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by Another    Chapter 52

LUCIAN’S POV: I stood there for a while after Martins left, staring at the closed door. Something about watching him walk away bothered me, I couldn’t explain it. And I didn’t even know him like that.Maybe it was because he was returning to James’s pack. Maybe it was because I knew exactly what James was capable of, and sending Martins back there felt like sending someone into a den of wolves and hoping they didn’t bite. Or maybe I was just paranoid, I don’t exactly know which one it is. After everything that happened, I couldn’t stop getting paranoid or apprehensive. I felt Olivia’s presence behind me before I heard her footsteps. “What are you thinking about?”She asked, wrapping her arms around my back. I turned around, placing my hands on her waist, she had a knowing smile on her face, like she knew what was going on in my head. “I’m allowed to think, no?”I had a smile on my face, it was hard getting rid of my smiles, she just brings that side out of me. She tutted, “Not lik

  • Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by Another    Chapter 51

OLIVIA’S POV:I woke up feeling peaceful and warm. I was cuddled next to Lucian, his arm around me. He was still sleeping, he looked so calm like this, like he had less worries. I carefully lifted his arms off me, standing up to pee. I blushed deeply when the sheet came off me, revealing my naked self. Immediately after we were done, I was dead to the world. Which made me kind of ashamed, I mean we haven’t even done the real thing yet, what happens when we do? I could feel my ears. burning at my thought. We’ve been through so much in the past month, I decided to make something for us for breakfast. Maybe serve him in bed? “You’ve turned into a complete romantic for this man”, Liana teased.“Oh please, we both know how much of a romantic you are too”“So, what do you think about Martins?”, She asked. “I don’t know, I think he’s sincere. He seems like he wants to break out of that place. Plus, he’s been looking for his mate forever, he’s not going to ruin it because of James”, I said

  • Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by Another    Chapter 50

LUCIAN’S POV:“I’m not following”, I said after a beat of silence. I didn’t understand what he was driving at, Martins? Helping us? He cleared his throat, “I want to help you. You see, James has ruined that pack, he terrorizes us so much, I am a beta but I am pretty much nonexistent to him. I want to take him down. Now, I know that nothing I do or say will ever change the fact that I was a coward with Olivia, but Valerie is my mate, and I'll do anything, I mean everything to make it right.”It was silent again for a minute after his speech, I watched as Valerie intertwined her hand in his, as if to comfort him. I realized then and there that there was no way I could hate Valerie’s mate. She’s my sister, other than that fact,Martins seemed really sincere. It doesn’t change the fact that I’m still very weary of him and the moment he hurts my sister, I’ll break his arm. “I don’t trust you, you come from that pack, trying to make amends. It seems too good to be true”, I said, I still di
