Chapter 7: A Hungry Puppy

Erica stood behind the closed door with the vase up in the air and waited for the person to come in. She inched closer to the door and put her ear near to the door, as she heard footsteps approaching her, she quickly straightened up and she tightened her grip on the vase. The person opened the door and came inside, Erica without wasting any second lounged forward and with every ounce of force and energy in her body, she hit the person with the vase. The Vase broke into several pieces but the person was unaffected. He was still standing straight and he didn’t even budge.

Erica looked at the person and inhaled sharply, she was surely dead now. The person turned around and Erica was shocked to her core. Her kidnapper had sharp pointy teeth, he had many hairs on his face with the exception of the beard, and his ears were long and pointy. He was very tall; Erica hardly reached up to his chest. He had long nails or they were more like claws, he had hair on his hands and fingers. His feet and legs were covered in shoes and pants though. She looked at his face again and he was legit smirking at her. He was not even a human.

“Are you done checking me out?” He asked her and she felt like puking. “I was not checking you out, rather I was taking in your inhumane detail-“ she was cut off when he grabbed her by placing his hand on her neck and shutting her up she grabbed his hand with both of her hands trying to loosen his grip. “What did you said? Do you want to repeat that again?” he said through gritted teeth and Erica struggled to breath. As her lips started turning blue he let go of her neck, she fell to the ground and coughed and breathed deeply trying to push as much air as she could in to her lungs. When she had enough air in her body and lungs, she stood up by taking aid with the wall, “You are crazy,” she said to him in raspy voice whilst rubbing her neck.

He stepped closer to her and held her by her small back, he pulled her closer and whispered in her ear, “Oh sweet heart, you haven’t seen crazy yet,” he said and let her go and went out of the room locking her in again. She looked at the closed door with tears in her eyes, “What the hell have I gotten myself into? Why didn’t I listen to my mother’s warning,” she was frustrated, angry, sad, and most importantly, she was now hungry. But her ego was now injured and bruised.

She sat back in the bed, and waited for those two ladies to come back again anytime sooner. She waited till night for them to come back but no one came, she was very hungry and she wanted to eat something, anything. She heard footsteps approaching and quickly went to the door, it opened and those two ladies again came back in the room again. “I am hungry, please; give me something to eat,” she said to them and they nodded, “Please, come with me my lady,” One of them said and she nodded and quickly went behind them. Erica looked around but it was night time and the place was very dark, she could not see anything properly. The ladies had candles in their hands, and Erica was following them like a puppy, a hungry puppy actually.

They all arrived in a hall, which was lit as if it was day time, in the centre of that big hall was a very long table filled with every kind of food and dishes that Erica had never even possibly heard of.  At the two ends of table were two chairs at either end of the table. Her kidnapper was sitting already at one side of the table, ‘great, now I will have to sit with him,’ she thought and rolls her eyes at him. She was too hungry right now to even acknowledge his presence. She went to the other side of table and sat down. The maids bowed again and went out of the hall. Erica didn’t wait for any signal or command from her attacker, nor did she wait for him to start eating first. She picked up a bowl of some dish that was made out of chicken or some bird meat and put it in her plate, she took a spoon and tasted some, she then ate some more dishes and soon she was full. She got up and poured some water in a glass, she gulped it down and made her way back to her room out of the hall. One of her many talents that her father had taught her and her instincts were always spot on, she would always remember the path that she had once crossed in her life, if only she was conscious the time she came here. She would have known the way all the way back to where she had come from.

Without acknowledging the presence of the other person, she went back to her room and closed the door from inside. She then climbed into the bed and lies there staring at the canopy thinking about what to do in the morning. She didn’t knew what to do next, but she did knew that she will try to escape tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, and the day coming after tomorrow’s tomorrow. ‘I promise father, I will try escaping this place every day, I will come back to you one day. I will not leave you alone; I will find a way back to you, I promise, please don’t be sad or depressed because of me, I just wish I could send my message to you somehow in anyway,’ Erica closed her eyes and a few tears escaped her eyes before she drifted off to sleep.
