“You don't know what you are talking about. You said you loved me, Ethan. What's the meaning of this?”

Gabrielle said, pointing at the woman that hugged the arm of her husband.

Ethan frowned, “Behave yourself, Gabrielle. I already said our marriage was nothing in the first place. Merely a transaction. Being the Beta of the pack, meant I had to marry the dead Alpha's wife.”

“What?” Gabrielle gasped, “Didn't you marry me to honour your Alpha?” She was bewildered, completely unsure of who was standing in front of her, even after knowing him for three years.

Ethan was about to say when the woman beside him stepped forward. Yvenna was her name. She had been a lone wolf brought in by the pack.

As Gabrielle stared at Yvenna, she regretted when she had felt pity for such a backstabber.

“Gabrielle. It's not Ethan's fault that your husband died. He already did his best by surviving this long in a loveless marriage, and now he wants someone who he can actually love.” She said, her hips swaying as she walked to stand in front of Ethan.

“No one in the pack respects you as Luna. So why don't you do us all good and leave?”

“Yvenna.” Ethan moved forward, holding her hand.

Gabrielle narrowed her eyes, “I can't believe this. Even in front of me, she's the first person you'd reach out to?”

Yvenna scoffed, “Yes of course. After all, I am with his child. Something you can never do, and that is why the Alpha died barren!”

Blood flowed to Gabrielle's head and she raised her hand, but Ethan was faster.

“Don't you dare touch her. Do you want to kill her out of jealousy? She's just a kid, Gabrielle. Damn it!” He lashed out, causing Gabrielle to flinch.

“She just disrespected our Alpha, Ethan. Is this what you'd say—”

“Our Alpha is dead! Can you stop talking about him?” Ethan snapped, “If you miss him so much, then go to hell with him. This marriage is annulled, and I want you out.”

Tears pooled in Gabrielle's eyes, “Ethan.”

“No Gabrielle. You made Yvenna cry and tried to hurt her in front of me. If you had the chance, you'd kill my child and I'm not going to let that happen!”

Gabrielle couldn't believe her eyes, and she opened her mouth.

She wanted to say she was pregnant too!

That she was carrying two of his children but somehow, she couldn't find her voice.

“Ethan.”

“Forget it. I don't need any of your apology, the divorce documents would be here in the afternoon, and I want you to sign it.” Ethan said, turning around.

He didn't want to admit it but he couldn't bear seeing her like that, and no matter how he tried to pretend that nothing was going on, it didn't work.

Gabrielle sighed, and she swallowed her words.

If that was what he wanted to do, then he wouldn't stop her.

“What about the pack?”

Yvenna stepped forward with a sneer, “They can do without you. The only thing you have been doing so far is wrapping everyone around your slimy fingers.”

A chuckle left Gabrielle’s lips, “Just like how you have Ethan wrapped around yours?” She said, lifting a brow. The audacity of this young wolf amazed her.

“I'm better than you Gabrielle, and even Ethan knows that, because that's why he gave me a child.” Yvenna said.

But Gabrielle had already turned away, “Enjoy your pregnancy.” She muttered back, going up the stairs and into her room.

There was no place for her here, and she wasn't going to beg for any of their pity.

Looking around, she shook her head.

“Cassian. If only you didn't leave me in this rotten place. Your subjects have no regard for me, and I'm sure they never had one for you as well.” Gabrielle said, her eyes falling on a picture atop her dresser.

There she was, in the arms of my mate as they smiled at each other, until the moon goddess took her love away.

Giving her this heart full of stone.

She looked down at her stomach. “I'd raise these children to remember you as their father, Cassian. Even if it's the last thing I do.” She said, a soft smile appearing on her lips.

“Children?” A voice resounded behind her, causing Gabrielle to whip her head back, maintaining a cool gaze.

“What are you talking about, Yvenna? Why are you here?” Gabrielle narrowed her gaze.

Yvenna chuckled, sashaying, her hips moving with each step, “Did I just hear you say children? You have got to be kidding me. Did you cheat on Ethan?”

The question was enough to cause a vein to pop in Gabrielle’s head.

“Unlike your lover, I am very much loyal.” Gabrielle said, her voice harsh while she returned back to packing her luggage.

“So you are carrying Ethan's child. That's a joke. There's no way he would sleep with you, I made sure of that.” Yvenna’s frown went deep as she clenched her fists.

This time, Gabrielle raised her head, “You made sure of what?”

“Shut up! You can't have a child, and you better get rid of it. There's no way you are taking Ethan away from me.” Yvenna lashed out, and with a wave of her hand, a vase crashed to the ground.

She walked out, leaving the aftermath of her crash out behind.

Gabrielle placed her hand on her chest, letting out a sigh. She had been afraid, and maybe this was a sign to leave.

She didn't want Ethan to know of her pregnancy. Knowing the kind of man he was, he would force her to stay.

Gabrielle picked up her phone. “Enzo, remember the divorce documents I signed a month ago, along with the pictures of Ethan sleeping with Yvenna, please mail them to Ethan's office. I'm leaving this place now.”

At the other end of the phone, Enzo let out a sigh of relief.

She was going to be his

The next day; Gabrielle went down on one knee, kissing the forehead of her son. “Cassian, I'd be back. Mummy wants to go for a work trip. I want you to be a good boy. Uncle Enzo is in charge so don't trouble him, is that fine?” Tears pooled in the little boy's eyes. “When would you be back, Mum?” Cassian said, rubbing his teary eyes. “In two weeks. You know I can't live very long without you.” She smiled at him. Cassian nodded, and Gabrielle wiped his eyes, before giving him another kiss. She rose to her feet, and looked at Enzo, before pulling him into a hug. “Take care of him for me, Enzo.” Enzo didn't respond for a moment, “Do you think you should be seeing someone like him? After everything he had done to you?” The question made Gabrielle think and she shook her head. “Leaving my duty as Alpha is only because I am first a doctor and I cannot bear to know that innocent people are in pain.”She answered. At the other side, the werewolf from Mooncrest widened his eyes. H

Five years later. “Dr. Gabrielle, the patient's blood pressure is dropping!” Gabrielle looked up from the medical report in her hands, her expression instantly becoming serious as she walked into the emergency room, her white coat moving behind her with every hurried step. “What's his condition?” The nurse walked quickly by her side, “Severe internal bleeding, and we can't find the source.” They reached the room, where other nurses gathered around the patient, “Move aside.” Gabrielle said as soon as she stepped closer. The nurses immediately made room for her, and Gabrielle leaned over the unconscious man, quickly examining his injuries before pointing toward the monitor. “His left side is filled with blood, which means the damage is deeper than we thought, so prepare him for emergency surgery and get two units of blood ready.” “Yes, Doctor.” She turned toward the nurse beside her. “And call the surgical team. I want everyone in the theatre within five minutes.” The room i

It was a cold night, and Gabrielle stirred on the ground. She rose to her feet and her eyes were blank, matching the calmness in her face. She was still in the warehouse, but this time, there was no one around. For a moment, the facade she put up cracked, and she crumbled to her knees, hitting the floor. Her mind flooded with memories. An injection to kill her baby, and one to get rid of her memories. If she had lost both, it would have been an easier life. But she remembered. She remembered all of it, and she was going to make them pay, she was going to make Yvenna and the Wolfcrest pack pay horribly for what they did to her. Rising to her feet, she found a phone booth and dialed in a number. The line connected instantly. “Enzo—” “For moon goddess's sake, Gabrielle, where have you been? I have sent you fifty missed calls,” Enzo called out, his voice leaking with worry. If Gabrielle hadn't moved the phone away, he would have bursted her ear drums. “I'm fine. Can you come pi

“Have you told him about the pregnancy?” Enzo spoke through this phone, the question an attempt to calm himself. Gabrielle paused, looking down at her stomach, “He doesn't need to know. I don't want any more troubles from them, just my peace and quiet.” She answered. Her bag was packed—just one, containing the clothes she got with her money and her travel documents. Enzo nodded on the other end of the phone. “There’s no problem. I have booked your flight two hours ago, a private jet would be there to take you.” Gabrielle shook her head, “You didn't have to do that, Enzo—” “I have been your friend for five years, Gabrielle. You don't have to tell me what I need to do. Just hurry up and get here and then we can find a place for you.” “Thank you.” Gabrielle smiled, and she carried her bag. Getting a taxi in this city wasn't a hurdle, and she couldn't help but think of Ethan's reaction when he'd see those divorce papers. “Please take me to the airport.” She said, her attention on
