Chapter 72

“Hands where we can see them!” One of the policemen said loudly and with authority.

My heart was racing and my eyes darted almost everywhere. Then Jade tried to calm me. “Hey, hey, calm down.”

“They’re about to arrest us, Jade! How do you expect me to calm down? They could literally take us back to the rogue town and who knows what Sam would do to us.” I was panicking.

When the policemen closed the distance between us and them, one female patted me down and searched me while a male officer did the same to Jade. When they realized that we had nothing on us that could be a threat to them, they took their hands off us and took a few steps back.

“What’s going on here?” Jade asked confidently but got no response. A black sleek car then pulled over in seconds and the door was opened by one of the officers. From in the car came down a beautiful dark-skinned lady with curly hair.
