Ouch! It Hurts

A chubby young man with glasses, walked into the busy office where people were either answering calls or typing away on their computer. He was the manager of the busy company and he had a very special announcement to make.

"Gather around everyone for a very special announcement!" His voice rang out.

Ariana and the rest of the workers all gathered around to hear the important information that made the manager relieve them of working during working hours. It looks like it was indeed a very serious matter.

"The new CEO, who would be addressed as president, will be here after lunch break. So everyone should make sure to be in the office five minutes before the end of lunch break" Manager Sam said.

They were all silent at his announcement. Although they wanted to protest, they couldn't. No one was ready to lose their jobs.

"And not just that. The most important information is to the ladies, please. There is a strict instruction that any of you shouldn't be an inch close to the president. I repeat, keep your distance away! If you don't want to lose your job!" Manager Sam warned.

" Manager, isn't that outrageous? What sort of rule is that?" One of the ladies said, frowning.

" Were you planning on seducing the CEO? Why would you find the rule outrageous?" One of the male workers asked.

" Shut up, Greg!"

Ariana had no time to listen to their argument as she went back to her seat so she could finish her work on time. She wasn't planning on going for lunch break because she had to wrap up her work early so she could go to the hospital for a check up.

After working for several hours, it was finally time for lunch break.

"Won't you be going for lunch, Ari?" One of the girls asked.

"No, Lisa. I just want to wrap up something" Ariana said.

"Alright. I will buy you some takeout instead, is that alright?" Lisa offered." I notice you are a little sick and skinny. You don't have to overwork yourself"

" I am fine, Lisa. You don't have to bother yourself" Ariana said, smiling gratefully.

" I owe you one, Ariana. I won't have been retained if you didn't help me out. I will just buy it as a thank you," Lisa said, turning around to leave.

Ariana wanted to stop her but she was already gone. She just shook her head and continued her work. There are so many things she needed to fix before taking a day off. She has something important to do.

Meanwhile, In an underground car park, there was silence as the man's piercing gaze landed on a smartly dressed middle aged man. The middle aged man was sweating profusely in the car even though the air-conditioning was working.

"Mr. Brittany, the contract was supposed to be sent to me five minutes ago. Why are you still in my car?" The man's icy voice made even the driver shiver.

"Vincenzo, I… there was a delay in the acquisition…"

" It's Mr. Vincenzo. You know I hate mixing business and personal matters together. And what additional fund is this?" Vincenzo asked, glancing at the document in his hands.

" It's… it's for extra funds. I told you…"

" Mr. Brittany, what makes you think I will sign this?"

" Vince, I am still your Uncle and you have to respect me! You just have to add your signature for the extra amount and I will submit the documents"

" Are you threatening me? Do I look like I care if you are my fucking uncle or not? This is my business, Mr. Brittany, not some family charity organization. If you need extra money, work for it!" Vincenzo snapped.

" This is still our family business!" Mr. Brittany snapped.

" Our..? Did you say… our? Where the fuck were you when the company collapsed due to your silly mistake and grandpa almost died? Were you the one who worked all night to resurrect the dead Hopkins Company?" Vincenzo's icy voice cut through the car.

" Vince…"

"I hate excuses. I need some peace" Vincenzo said, getting pissed off.

He was supposed to go to the newly acquired company this morning but this incompetent Uncle of his was making him late.

" I… I promise to fix the acquisition. Just sign the extra fund. I…I need the money" Mr. Brittany stuttered.

It wasn't like the acquisition wasn't going to be successful but he needed time to sort out some issues so he can get his own share too.

"Not interested in acquiring that company. I already acquired a better one so just tell them that the deal is off," Vincenzo said, gazing at the man who was beginning to sweat even more.

Did he actually think he could hide things from him? Vincenzo already knew the game his uncle was playing. He wants to know how he was going to explain to those old geezers who gave him money!

"I need to be somewhere else, Mr. Brittany. Could you please leave my car?" Vincenzo said, biting back his anger.

Swallowing hard, Mr. Brittany had no choice but to get out of the car. He watched as the car zoomed off while he clenched his fist tightly. It wasn't like Vincenzo didn't have the money but he was just holding it tightly for no reason.

He needed the money or else those people were going to kill him!

In anger, Mr. Vincenzo got out of the car. His driver immediately got off to open the door while two hefty men that looked like bouncers came out of another car that parked behind.

He was already late for the meeting because of his uncle. It was lunch break and many of the workers would be out. It wasn't a bad thing because he would be able to avoid their gazes… and touch.

Just as he wanted to enter the office, a fragile body bumped into him and to avoid her falling to the ground, he held her waist and drew her tightly to his body.

"Ouch! It hurts!" She cried out.
