Helena lets Ingrid rummage on her newly bought clothes, which fascinates Ingrid because it is the most luxurious brand existing in Emerald Ville, and she cannot believe that Helena doesn’t have just one but a lot of it.

She was too jealous, but she tried to keep it to herself as she wore one of them and thought who could wear it better?

Helena could really see how Ingrid wanted to impress Louis so badly that she was making an effort to dress so well that she even styled her hair and made sure that she would look presentable. Yes, she is pretty, but for some reason, there is something about Helena’s beauty that kept someone’s eyes on hook on her.

“Tell me how I look,” Ingrid asked as she made a turn. “Do I look great?”

“Yes, you do,” she said in the most angelic way to make Ingrid feel good about herself.

And it was so funny to Helena because she’s been in her position once because during the time she would choose something to wear for her date with Darren, she would always ask for Ingrid’s choices. And now it was already reversed.

After changing, Ingrid and Helena went down. They were already on the grand staircase when they saw Louis standing in the living room and taking off his suit.

“Good evening!” Ingrid greeted cheerfully to get his attention.

Louis then glanced at them, looking at Helena first, until his eyes looked at the dress Ingrid was wearing. Ingrid felt overwhelmed when he looked at her dress, and she felt like he found her gorgeous because of the way he looked at her intensely.

“So you have a visitor,” Louis said and arched his brow.

“Oh yes! I kind of miss my sister; that’s why I decided to come here and visit her. We are quite close; that’s why we are both used to each other’s presence.” Ingrid answered instead while she was smiling seductively as soon as they went down.

But Louis didn’t show any impressive expression from the way Ingrid conversed with him. He remained serious, and now he looked three times more strict and snobby because of the way his brows knitted.

Helena could see his annoyance, and it was so satisfying that she could see from Louis that he wasn’t like Darren, who was immediately seduced in just a second.

“You let her borrow the dress I gave you?” Louis pointed out of nowhere, which Helena and Ingrid didn’t expect.

But Helena has an idea about it since Anna said that what Louis hated the most were people who were using his things without his consent. Although the dresses he bought for her were already hers, she didn’t expect he was still territorial about it.

“Oh…” Ingrid didn’t expect it as well and looked at Helena. “She said it is okay, and… she let me borrow it.”

Helena nodded to show sympathy, but she knew that it would not be enough to calm Louis down.

“I bought it for you,” he initiated. “Next time, if you don’t like them, just keep it. I don’t like seeing the things I give to you to someone else.”

The humor in Ingrid’s smile was now vanishing, and it was turning into a flat smile. Helena looked at her apologetically, trying to pull a fake expression while Ingrid could not smile anymore out of embarrassment.

“The dinner is already prepared, Alpha Louis,” the housemaid said.

“Just eat here before coming home. The driver will get you home later,” Louis said as he walked to the living room.

Helena smiled, trying to cheer up Ingrid despite how she desperately wanted to laugh at her. Ingrid was somehow cheered up that Louis invited her for dinner and the driver would take her home. As much as she wanted to suggest that if it was okay, Louis could take her home, she didn’t voice it out yet since she was afraid he would say something rude again.

Ingrid was amused that even at the dining table, it showed how Louis’ status was three times higher than theirs because of the food served. It was like eating in a luxurious restaurant when there was an occasion, and yet it was served normally at Louis’ table.

“Is it okay to visit my sister Helena from time to time?” Ingrid tried to fire another smooth conversation with Louis again since she saw that they seemed not to be talking on the table.

“Go ahead, as long as your fiance knows about it. I don’t want any drama,” he uttered while his attention was just on his own food.

Helena wanted to roll her eyes and make a comment that it wasn’t really her whom she wanted to see but Louis, but of course, she held back and just let the time tell the truth.

“Oh, actually, he doesn’t mind since we both know that everything is our family’s agreement as well. It’s not that serious. If he would date someone, I would not even care, cuz for sure, he would also let me date someone else. We…don’t really like each other that romantically,” Ingrid shared as she even tried to make a weak smile.

If only Helena could bark a laugh at Ingrid’s lies. She just sounded so desperate for Louis’ attention that she was willing to make some stupid lies when, in fact, she was so in love and obsessed with Darren that she became her own best friend’s killer.

But of course, as planned, Helena showed support to her own sister, smiling at her encouragingly.

If there was something that got Louis’ attention, it would probably be Darren since he is getting his attention for being invested in the land that has nothing to do with expanding their territory.

“The Adams, right? Darren Adams?” he corrected.

Ingrid smiled while Helena suddenly didn’t feel good when his name was mentioned that she needed to drink water just to calm her senses down.

“Oh, yes. You probably know him too. The Adams are quite powerful, but not powerful enough compared to your bloodline,” Ingrid chuckled, feeling proud.

Helena’s mind was now spinning, and she didn’t really feel good that he was being the topic again. Louis noticed Helena’s weird movement, and his attention went to her.

“Are you okay, Helena?” he asked.

Helena nodded and tried to smile about it when, in her mind, she could remember the remnants of her memories again, herself running into the woods helplessly, praying someone would save her, but no one came until a gunshot just made her twitch a bit, shutting her eyes as if she were trying to dodge it.

“Oh my god, Helena? Are you okay?” Ingrid asked and stood up when she noticed that she was already trembling in fear, and when Ingrid attempted to hold her, she immediately slapped her hand away from her like an instinct to shelter her from danger.

Helena was now so clouded by the past that she could not control the memories flashing through her mind as she was now twitching, covering her ears, and wanting to hug herself. Louis stood up and called the housemaid to get some of her medicines to calm her down.

“Her memories might be coming back. She was asleep for a long time, right?” Louis confirmed as Ingrid nodded.

It scared Ingrid for a second. Her expression turned into horror and she wanted to stop her sister from remembering things because she didn’t like it that her heart was banging out of nervousness.

As soon as Anna handed them the medicine, Louis immediately grabbed the glass of water and called Helena, expecting she would calm down at least on him.

“Helena,” he called as gently as possible.

And Helena, who was panting in a panic, raised her head as if it were a hope. In the middle of the darkness, she found that she was searching for it until she found Louis’ eyes on her. Louis’ eyes widened to see her eyes with some tears.

“Drink your medicine,” he reminded and handed the glass of water, including the tablet.

Helena’s hand was trembling when she reached for it, put it in her mouth, and tried to get the glass of water as well, but Louis made her drink it instead. Ingrid, who is watching the movement of Louis, makes her blood boil, wanting to just completely push Helena for being too dramatic, but she only turns her hand into a fist.

“Helena, are you okay?” Ingrid asked in her fake worried voice.

Helena just shut her eyes as she was calming herself down and her heart racing so fast. She gritted her teeth, and she felt so disappointed that she was now suffering from her traumatic experience because of the woman who was just by her side.

If she opened her eyes, she might have taken the table knife off the table and just stabbed it at Ingrid, but she held back her desperation so that her tears flowed to the sides as she cried out of her anger. She is in such pure rage that she cannot do something about it yet because she feels powerless.

“Oh, she’s crying. Don’t worry, sis, I am here. Don’t be afraid,” Ingrid said, and she didn’t attempt to hug her anymore because she didn’t want Louis to see how Helena might push her since she was not yet used to it.

Louis stared at Helena, and he saw that she wasn’t just scared; she was also furious as she cried. It wasn’t the first time that it happened, and it made him curious even more about why Helena seemed traumatized.

“Go home now. Your sister needs to rest. Just visit her some other time,” Louis stated.

“But she might need someone to comfort her,” Ingrid insisted.

“And I think she doesn’t want it coming from you,” Louis cut her off.
