Chapter 1

"Do you, Matthew Hunt, take Ambrose Donovan, to be your lawfully wedded husband," The Officiant said.

"I do," Matthew said.

"Do you, Ambrose Donavan, take Matthew Hunt, to be your lawfully wedded husband," he said.

"I do," Ambrose said.

"You may now kiss."

Cheers erupted from the audience as the two slowly leaned in toward each other. For the first time, their lips touched one another. Neither of them felt any spark or joy, but they had to keep up the act. They pulled away from each other as the people around them applauded. Matthew grabbed Ambrose's hand before walking him down the aisle as people threw petals and confetti at them.

They both waved at their friends and families as they exit the venue. Matthew opened the car door for Ambrose before going to the driver's side. They both waved goodbye before finally driving off. Once the venue was out of view, the two let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank god, that was over," Ambrose said as he slumped down from his seat.

"I know. At least we get an excuse to get away from work," Matthew replied. "Your lips are really soft by the way," Matthew teased.

Ambrose rolled his eyes and smacked Matthew on the chest. "Yours felt like sandpaper."

Matthew feigned offense. "Excuse me? I put on a lip mask before the ceremony. That stuff was expensive," he muttered.

"You know we can't date anyone else anymore," Ambrose said as he crossed his arms.

"You never dated anyone beforehand anyway," Matthew shrugged.

"That's true," Ambrose chuckled. "You better keep using that lip mask. We'd have to kiss more often or people will fucking talk more than they usually do."

"Don't worry, I'm a good kisser," he said, winking at Ambrose.

Ambrose chuckled as he looked away, attempting to hide the blush that crept onto his face. Matthew was his first kiss, but he didn't have the heart to tell him.

"You should take a nap. We still have a few more hours before we reach the beach house," Matthew said.

"Sure. Just wake me up when you need to switch," Ambrose said before getting comfortable.

He closed his eyes and let the wind graze his face until he finally fell asleep. Ambrose woke up on a soft bed. He bolted up from the bed when Matthew came in.

"Oh, hey. I carried you inside. You were dead asleep and felt bad waking you up so I just let you sleep," Matthew said as he sat on the bed.

Matthew was topless and wearing board shorts. Ambrose stretched for a bit before standing up from the bed. He removed his button-up shirt before taking off his pants along with his underwear and socks. They've seen each other naked multiple times ever since they were young, it doesn't bother them anymore. Ambrose grabbed his board shorts from the luggage and put them on.

He tapped Matthew's shoulder who was tapping away on his phone and motioned for him to follow. Matthew held up a finger, telling Ambrose to wait. Ambrose just rolled his eyes and left Matthew behind. He walked out of the house and let the sunshine wash over him. Ambrose let out a sigh of relief as he finally found time to relax. He walked up to the shore and let the waves touch his feet.

Arms suddenly wrapped around his waist and he looked up and saw Matthew behind him. He rolled his eyes and turned to face him. Suddenly, Matthew leaned down and placed his lips against Ambrose. Ambrose almost panicked, but then he saw the glint of the camera from behind the bushes so he closed his eyes and kissed Matthew back, wrapping his arms around his neck. After a while, they both pulled away and Ambrose let out a sigh of relief when he no longer spotted the paparazzi.

"I thought they would leave us alone after the fucking wedding," Ambrose muttered.

"Who?" Matthew asked.

Ambrose looked at him confused. "The paparazzi. They're still hungry for pictures to sell to the tabloids," Ambrose said angrily.

Matthew quickly composed himself and removed his arms around Ambrose's waist. "Yeah. Sorry for kissing you so suddenly. I forgot to give you a warning," Matthew chuckled.

"It's okay. Let's just enjoy the rest of the day," he said before going into the water.

Matthew followed behind him and they both swam around the sea, doing laps and splashing water against each other. It suddenly felt like they were teenagers again. When they would sneak out of school and go straight to the beach. Even when Matthew was already in college, he would still bust Ambrose out of the school and go on adventures.

At one point, their parents decided to send them to boarding schools on either end of the country but that didn't stop them either so they just gave up. Their grades were high, they were active in extracurricular activities, and they got into great universities so their shenanigans continued.

"Race to the shore," Matthew said before getting a jump start.

"Asshole!" Ambrose screamed before racing to swim to the shore.

Matthew cheered as he reached the shore first. Ambrose rolled his eyes as he walk next to Matthew after he got out of the sea. Matthew suddenly grabbed Ambrose by the waist and flung him over his shoulder before running inside. Ambrose screamed for Matthew to let him down as he punched Matthew's back.

Matthew didn't care as he ran inside the house and straight to the back door. He suddenly threw Ambrose in the air and he landed in the pool. Ambrose rose from the water and flipped Matthew off who was doubling over from laughter. He swam over to the edge and grabbed Matthew's leg and pulled him under the water. It was now Ambrose's turn to laugh as Matthew rose from the water.

Matthew swam over to Ambrose and pulled him into a hug. Ambrose smiled and hugged him back. They've already spent almost their whole lives together and now they have to spend the rest of their lives together. Both of them got out of the pool and dried off before entering the house.

Matthew cooked dinner while Ambrose showered. Ambrose walked over to his luggage after getting out of the bathroom and grabbed a long nightgown and a pair of underwear. He walked into the kitchen after getting dressed just as Matthew finished cooking dinner. Ambrose helped Matthew set up the table as he plated their food.

"I made your favorite, sinigang and white rice," Matthew said as they both sat down.

"Thank you. You always make it better than I do," Ambrose said.

"Well, you wouldn't shut up about how no one can cook sinigang like the one you had when we went to the Philippines so I had to do something," he said and they both chuckled.

They ate in comfortable silence as the sky outside darkened. Ambrose cleaned up the table after they ate before going outside. Ambrose wrapped his arms around himself as the wind blew. Matthew went up behind him and wrapped an arm around his shoulder.

"It's been a while since I've had this much peace and quiet," Ambrose said.

"Me too," Matthew said.

"So we're married now, huh," Ambrose said as he played with the rings on his finger.

They had to set up an engagement as well to sell the whole thing. Matthew grabbed his hand and intertwined their fingers.

"Yeah, we are. Either us or some spoiled brat who knows nothing but spend their daddy's money," Matthew chuckled.

"That's true. Dad almost had me marry Henderson's son. His lips looked like they were about to burst at any moment from all the fillers. I've been so tempted to poke his lips with a needle so many times," Ambrose said.

"Oh god, you were offered the worst child," Matthew said. "His siblings are somewhat better, but they're all awful. I was almost married to Leon's daughter. She was nice and beautiful. Perfect trophy wife, but dear god she was so dumb. You can never hold an intelligent conversation with her. Talking to a wall is better."

Ambrose chuckled. "Who knew we would end up getting married to each other?"

"Apparently everyone else," he said and Ambrose nodded.

"No one was shocked when we announced it. They were even happy. I wondered why didn't they just suggest that in the first place," Ambrose said.

Matthew didn't respond as he watched the stars in the sky. Now the two of them have to spend the rest of their lives married to each other and hope that no one can see through their facade.
