Chapter 21

"I want an annulment because I want a do-over," Ambrose whispered.

Matthew's head snapped toward him in confusion.

"What do you mean a do-over?" he asked warily.

"Show me if it's worth it to marry you a second time," Ambrose said. "Fuck, Matthew. I'm supposed to be mad at you," he chuckled. "I guess it's because I know Alana wouldn't be happy if I was and I'm too old and tired to hold so much anger."

"You're in your late thirties. That's not old Ambrose," Matthew chuckled.

The two settled into a comfortable silence once again. Ambrose moved a bit to the side of his bed, leaving enough space for Matthew to sit beside him. Matthew didn't hesitate to take the space and Ambrose almost immediately pulled him into a kiss. It took Matthew by surprise but he didn't fight it. The two kissed until Ambrose needed to pull away to catch his breath.

"Can you come back tomorrow? I have physical therapy and I want you there," Ambrose asked while his arms are still wrapped around Matthew's neck.
