INICIAR SESIÓNChapter 3
ALPHA KLEIN'S POV I step back, unarmed by her demand. My phone rings from the table behind, and Aurelia rolls her eyes, exiting into the bedroom. I don't go after her now. I return for my phone instead, swallowing the lump in my throat as the call connects. ‘‘Saxon.’’ My beta. “Alpha, we just caught one of Héctor's spy in the woods.’’ He reports. ‘‘He won't say much though, he claims to be visiting his grandmother here.’’ I scoff. “Bloody punk. Bring him back and throw him in a cell. Days of starvation will force the truth out of him.’’ “Sure.’’ The call disconnects, and I squeeze the phone. That little prick, Héctor! Until when will he learn that challenging me is a death game? I don't have his time yet, father is on a deathbed and his life matters more to me currently. Speaking of which, I should go to see him soon. All he ever does is talk about my mate which is so tiring. How I must find her and when I do, I shouldn't let her slip away. Or the pack will equally slip from my fingers. With a Luna like Aurelia with strong wolf blood and an agile wolf, a disabled omega is just an extra pussy for my release. Or better still, a treat for Xaia not to oppose my union with the woman my heart wants. Aurelia is having a bath when I walk past the bedroom. It's been a while since I summoned that omega for sex, and that explains Xaia's nonstop disturbance. Aurelia's frustration too. Xaia won't let me touch her. He threatens to hurt her each time we make out in the past five days so I'm always forced to pull away. But Aurelia is oblivious of this and I definitely can't tell her. I'm just about to send a guard to get the maids instructor when I notice my mother coming from a suspicious route. Her eyes sparks with something like fear when they find me, but she quickly masks it with anger. ‘‘What are you doing out here?’’ She asks as she approaches. But I'm not answering that, not with my omega's scent oozing all over her. “Where is she?’’ I ask back, clenching my fist as Xaia resumes skidding restlessly. “Where's who?’’ “You know who I'm talking about!’’ I don't mean to growl, but Xaia is taking half of my emotions already. My mother recoils, hesitating as she speaks. “You can't go to her. Your Luna is in your bedroom but you're busy searching for another woman?’’ “What have you done to her?’’ I snarl. No not me but Xaia. He's raging, sensing danger. “Tell me where she is right now!’’ “I ordered guards to lock her at the storeroom, but you know it's for your own good, Klein.’’ She laments, and I understand her. But I don't care right now. I try to leave but she holds me back, her eyes misty as she pleads. “You can't be involved with that omega. Remember who her father was. The entire pack will turn against you if they discover the slightest of your action.’’ I have a lot to say concerning her first statement, but Xaia is too impatient. So I leave it for another day, taking my hand from her and hurrying to the storeroom. *** Azalea's Pov There's a knotting pain around my waist, not as painful as earlier but quite noticeable. Yet that doesn't register in my head like the overwhelming scent of deliciousness in my nostrils. My everything. My mate. He's here. Somewhere close to me. I force my eyes open. There's the smell of antiseptic, and my heart sinks for a moment when I see Madam Leah talking with my mate. She notices I'm awake and signals him before leaving. My heart picks, thudding against my chest as he advances towards me. Those ocean blue eyes I'd kill to stare into all day were finally directed at me, and even though there's no softness in them I want to keep staring at them as long as possible. “M-mate.’’ I whisper, and his eyes darkens. ‘‘How dare you put on a show like this?’’ He's raging as he speak. “Did you mention something to my mother tonight?” “What…no.’’ I shake my head, desperately hoping not to anger him. All I wish for is to have his warmth over me. To sink in his scent all night long and share warm moments that will never happen between us. But he seems angered long before now. He grabs my neck in a firm but lose grip, and a tiny moan escapes my lips. I shouldn't moan right now. My body shouldn't be reacting negatively to his intended effect. But it's been days since I've had him this close. Every organ in my body aches for his touch. “How then do you explain why she threw you in a basement?’’ He smirks, hideously, tightening his grip on my windpipe. “I-I was waiting at our roost when she bumped in. I had… something important to tell…’’ “Silly.’’ He cut me, releasing my neck to brush a hand through his hair. “You don't get to decide when we meet at the roost. I decide that.’’ “I know, but it was urgent…’’ I say with shaky voice. “Listen, wolfless.’’ He glares. “I don't care about whatever you have going on. I'll never accept a wolfless traitor like you as my mate.’’ My heart rips, twisting in irreversible pain as tears prick my eyes. “I'm not a traitor.’’ “Your bloody father betrayed the pack, that makes you a traitor with his blood running in your veins.’’ Alpha Klein flares, irritated by my refusal to accept the evil title they keep pinning on me. Who will believe my father used to be the beta of the pack? He was framed and killed for treason, while I was subdued to work as a slave for the Alpha family. “Now you will return to that basement and be a good little girl. My matrimonial ceremony with Aurelia is in two days and I can't have words get out that I'm involved with the traitor omega.’’ He says, finally having enough of my pathetic company. That rips my heart completely. He's really going to claim Aurelia. To make her his chosen Luna. It's all clear now. I'm just the daughter of a traitor to him so keeping me as his mate feels like a curse. He never dreamed of a future with me, wolf or no wolf. Why then is he still keeping me? Why does he make sweet love to me over night only to coldy rebuke me the next day? “I won't have my mate court another woman under my nose.’’ I summon the courage to say as he turns to leave. I don't know where the courage came from, but it disappeared as soon as he turns to me with darkened eyes, radiating strong Alpha demeanor. “What's that you said?’’ I press my lips together, carefully averting my eyes from meeting his gaze. “I thought as much.’’ He resumes walking away, but I find my voice again before he leaves. “Reject me if you're going to keep her. Why do you still keep me if you crave another woman so badly? I'll accept your rejection and disappear from your life like I never existed.’’ Each word feels like a blade in my throat, but as painful as they are, they hold my redemption. I refuse to be kept as a second option. I refuse to be an unwanted secret mistress for the rest of my life. I will build a life with my pub somewhere faraway, and give him or her the best I can. My so-called mate obviously won't accept my pregnancy anyway. All he sees is his childhood crush, my pregnancy will only be an obstacle in their path to live happily ever after. Alpha Klein stops dead on his track. I can't tell if he's just shocked, or angered by my demand. Until he turns back to me with darkness in his gaze, striding towards my bed.°° KLEIN °°It was her. Gracefully alighting from the black escalade.“A.. Azalea.’’ The word rolls off my lips in a shaky whisper, and my legs acts on their own, pushing me up from my seat. In the last four years… despite how hard I tried to convince myself she was alive, somewhere at the back of my mind still believed she was dead. That I'd lost her forever, and was now on the journey of losing my own self. Seeing her right now— with her hair flowing gracefully over her shoulders, dressed in an elegant magenta blouse, embroidered to perfection, hanging over her belly, to reveal just enough skin around her waist. Paired with baggy magenta pants, pure silk material that complimented the blouse brilliantly— a wave of genuine hope hit me. I hadn't noticed Héctor holding the door out for her, until he shuts it behind her and offers his hand. My heart skips beats as Azalea places her hand over his, smiling like he was the most amazing thing in her life. He walks her into the ceremon
°° KLEIN °°By the time we crossed into Black Fur Pack, the celebration was already underway.Late. Prolly half way gone by now maybe? But it was never my thing to arrive early at these meetings. I always ruled the place, gracing the gathering with my presence. And I backed that by arriving last after every other guest should have arrived. Anyone who comes in after me then becomes the object of lateness. It is an outdoor marquee ceremony at the square of the pack. Just enough space to contain the nuisance. The beta notices me first, and he immediately rushes over to welcome us, unable to hide his surprise. He leads us to the Alphas seating, a separated section from the multitude with rounded tables. Each for two Alphas and their mates; that's a total of four persons a table. I don't miss the stares from the other Alphas as we walked through. No hard feelings but I had my nerves strung tight, observing for the worst. I can barely meet their gazes or try to socialize, and I just kn
°° KLEIN °°I close the tenth document and place it on the pile of nine others, dipping my hand into the basket of unattended files for the next one. But the floor of the basket scraps my fingers. I pull the basket down to confirm with my eyes, and truly it's empty. There are no other files left for me to attend to, meaning my work at the office was done. Good news? Not exactly. I rest back in my chair, resting my gaze on the ceiling carvings that have become too familiar and predictable after days of routine staring.I guess I have to return to my bedroom now. Aurelia must be asleep already, I should just quietly sneak in so she doesn't wake up. That has been the routine since as long as I can remember, and I doubt it'd be changing any time soon. Just as I stand up, Saxon bursts into the office looking upset and stressed. The stressed part I understand, since he has to shoulder most of my duties outside the pack. But the upset part? “A letter came in for you.’’ He says, slapp
°° HÉCTOR °°I partially expected things to fall through like this, so it's not a complete surprise. I only hoped there might be even the slightest bit of change to prove my doubts wrong.I reach forth to squeeze Xendaya's shoulder, and she turns to me with guilt and disappointment etched in her pretty eyes. I smile. “Eat up. You've barely had any dinner in your belly yet.” Patting her back twice, I walk out of the dining room, ignoring Cassie's angry glare burning the side of my face. I head straight to the underground cellar. My mother already stood by the counter, helping herself with a glass of wine. Oh, not just any wine. The white Grincely wine I got her yesterday. I join her by the counter, taking the bottle from her to help her with unwrapping the foil. “You're not mad right? He's just a pub.’’ “I never asked for your help.’’ She snaps, ignoring my question.“C'mon now. I got it for you so I might as well do the unveiling.’’ ‘‘That painting was you, wasn't it?’’ She asks
°° AZALEA °°The kind of silence that filled that room was enough to allow the sound of a pin drop on the floor. I don't miss Cassie's eyes, watching me with mockery and smug satisfaction. Everyone probably guessed that I've lost confidence about my gift now that Cassie has presented such valuable and thoughtful items after Emily blatantly called me thoughtless last year for gifting her a hot water flask. But that wasn't even the case now. And last year's incident had been out of my haste to get something at all for her since I'd forgotten about her birthday and couldn't prepare in advance. I let out a shaky breath and open my mouth to speak, but Héctor's voice breaks the silence first before me. “Xendaya has prepared a nice gift for you today.” He turns to me, one seat away from me which is Nick's. “Come on, Xen. Let's show her what you prepared.’’ ‘‘H–huh?’’ I stutter, dumbfounded. But the next second Héctor was up from his seat and approached me, taking my hand. “Gus.’’ He c
°° AZALEA °°I care about him.Goddess, I really do! But I just can't seem to love him the way he wants. The way I'm supposed to. The way I actually want to. I keep having intimate dreams about a faceless man—dreams so vivid they leave my body aching long after I wake.I keep having these intimate dreams about a faceless man man. And what is even more unnerving is how vivid they alway feel and leave my body aching long after I wake up.They feel more like memories than mere dreams. And that man definitely isn't Héctor. I know this because the mood in the dream atmosphere is nothing close to the atmosphere between myself and Héctor. That man seems really dominating, while myself on the other hand is so stupidly timid and even nearly afraid of him. What I totally do not understand is why I let him have me like a filthy plaything, begging for his touch and enjoying every bit of it. Perhaps there is something about my past that I'm missing out on? I badly want to ask Héctor about it
Chapter 6ALPHA KLEIN'S POVOne great lesson love has taught me is patience, especially with someone as fragile as Aurelia. Finally getting her back to shape, we settle quietly in the car and I drive back home with millions of thoughts running in my head. How do I discard Aurelia now before going
Chapter 5ALPHA KLEIN'S POV‘‘Are you even listening to me, Klein?’’ Aurelia snaps at me with visible irritation on her face, jolting me back to present. “I-I'm sorry.” I let out a raspy breath, once again trying to focus on the ongoing ceremony before me. “What is wrong with you? You’ve been zon
Chapter 4Azalea's PovI slip out of the bed, surprising not only Alpha Klein but even myself at my strange readiness to defend his unprecedented attack. He tugs my arm angrily. “You won't speak of rejection to my face.’’ “Why not?’’ I fire back, yanking my hand from him. But his grip is too firm.
Chapter 2Azalea's Pov My knees are aching badly. My toes are probably red too. But I can't stop pacing from end to end of my secret roost with Alpha Klein, waiting anxiously for him, hoping he'll honour my note. Not only did he support Aurelia when she said she was becoming Luna, he also ordered
