Mag-log inChapter 2
Azalea's Pov My knees are aching badly. My toes are probably red too. But I can't stop pacing from end to end of my secret roost with Alpha Klein, waiting anxiously for him, hoping he'll honour my note. Not only did he support Aurelia when she said she was becoming Luna, he also ordered that the news be spread throughout the pack. He looked me in the eyes and announced that he will be choosing a mate, since the moon goddess hasn't blessed him with one. Tears spill from my eyes as I remember the coldness in his eyes when he said that. I may be wolfless, but I still exist. I'm not dead or nowhere. I'm the mate the moon goddess has blessed him with…. Or maybe just a curse he's refusing to accept. After what feels like forever, I finally hear footsteps approching the door from outside. But something about it feels strange. Like Alpha Klein is bringing along escorts. I don't get the chance to think over it before the door bursts open. To my greatest shock, Luna Emily is standing by the door, glaring at me like an insufferable pest. How is she here? Where's Alpha Klein? As if hearing my thoughts, she shows me my note, guiding another round of cruel shock through my body. “Why did you want to see my son?’’ She demands, taking slow steps towards me. It doesn't need telling that I'm retreating back as well, dreading her anger. “What does a dirty traitor like you have to do with the Alpha!” She yells, and I instinctively guide my stomach with a hand. That catches her attention. One of the qualities of Luna is thoroughness, and Luna Emily has never failed with that. Her eyes darkens with an emotion I can't quite place, but it disappears as quickly as it came. ‘‘What is this? Not what I'm thinking right?’’ She says then smirks. “You wouldn't dare be pregnant for my son. And even if you are, I'll destroy that bastard before anyone even hears of him.’’ “No…’’ “Guards!!’’ She fires, and two hefty looking men rushes into the room at once. “Deal with this rag. And lock her in the store basement.’’ “No, please my Luna’’ I struggle as the men grab me. Luna Emily doesn't spare another glance back and walks out, leaving me for the guards to devour. They weren't gentle as they drag me against the floor to the storeroom, far from the main house where anybody can hear my screams. They fling me down the stairs to the basement, and I land hard on my waist. A painful scream leaves my lips, and I feel warm liquid spill between my inner thighs. What I fear will be blood. I don't mind the guards coming predatory at me, smirking like devils ready to attack after permission from the almighty. I push a hand under my dress, and when I pull it out there's crimson stain. “She's bleeding.’’ One of the guards says with fear crossing his eyes. “Just imagine it's a virgin while fucking her then.’’ The second guard shrug. By now I can feel consciousness slipping rapidly from my face. “Don't be silly. We weren't ordered to kill her yet.” “She's still going to die anyway. Does it matter when?’’ The second guard’s strong opposition is the last thing I note before darkness swallows me. *** ALPHA KLEIN'S POV I'm trying to listen to Aurelia telling me stories of every picture as we look through a photo album, but it's impossible with Xaia flipping restlessly in my head, thinking about that omega. “This.’’ Aurelia points at a picture, her beautiful blue eyes growing soft and nearly misty. “You remember this?’’ How can I ever forget? It's a picture of us under the meteor shower three years ago. The moment before I left to get more wine for us, only to find my mate packing out the wine in batches. A wretched traitor blood who has served in my packhouse for as long as I can remember. Choosing to ignore Aurelia, I flip over the page, hoping we won't have to talk about that miserable memory. But Aurelia stops my hand, with a sad smile crossing her face. ‘‘Do you love her?’’ She asks the most ridiculous question I expect to hear from her. “Are you serious right now?’’ I frown, expressing my displeasure and disappointment in her. She knows she's the one I love. She used to be my crush as children, and as we grew older I realised she possessed all I want in a mate. Slender, not too busty, very beautiful and fragile, yet quite brave. She's my dream woman. “I'm sorry for leaving the way I did.’’ Aurelia says, pinching her perfect nails with so much sadness in her eyes that my heart breaks. “I was just too heartbroken when you told me she was your mate.’’ I know that. She doesn't have to apologise for the moon goddess’ own mistake. I pull her into my chest, ignoring Xaia's rigid opposition inside me. “I should be the one sorry. I broke our promise of being together, but I'm just about to fix that now.’’ Aurelia pulls away to look at me, and I'm shocked to see a pool of tears in her pretty eyes. “Why’re you crying?’’ I try to hold her but she flinches back, glaring at me. “Why didn't you reject her immediately? You claim not to want her, yet you marked her that same night.’’ I'm speechless now, with a painful lump blocking my throat. It wasn't me that night, it was all Xaia. He's such a stubborn wolf that sometimes I can't control him. He couldn't resist the omega after six years of hoping for our fated without success, even though we'd agreed to choose Aurelia. Aurelia smiles bitterly at me and stands up, heading back towards the bedroom. I rush after her, calling her back even if she won't listen. “Aurelia please.’’ I finally get a hold of her arm, but she yanks my grip away, her eyes red with rage now. “You don't truly want me, or you won't still be keeping her in the packhouse!’’ “I want you, Aurelia. And I don't care about that fucking omega.’’ I'm frustrated by her accusations. “Then reject her, Klein.’’ She fires. “Reject her tonight and make love to me.’’Chapter 8AZALEA'S POV Xendaya? That was my name? And I'm fucking pregnant with a pub right now? Not just a pub but ‘his’ pub?“Helene reported that you suffered from amnesia after the accident, which means you don't even recognize me right now.’’ He smirks sadly, trailing gentle lines in my hair which didn't just feel about right to me. What in the moon goddess’ name is he talking about? What I lost is my memories not my senses. Just yesterday, he'd spoken to me like a total stranger, without even the slightest recognition in his eyes, and now.. this?I ease away from him stylishly, trying to hide my discomfort. “Uh.. I think you have the wrong person…’’“I understand. I'll give you time to process things.’’ He nearly cut me, and even though I relax a bit now that he keeps his hands to himself, I still don't appreciate the idea of him willing to give me time to process his sudden declaration. But I choose to stay quiet, growing uncomfortable by even his presence now. “I'm just gl
Chapter 7AZALEA'S POVA strong familiar smell is thick in the air, but I can't clearly think about what it is with the thickness clawing on my brain. Throbbing pain spins through my head and the rest of my body is a mess with hotness burning under my skin. A groan squeezes out of my lips as I try to grab my head, but something holds my hand back before I can even lift it. I force my eyes open. There's a blurry view before me and peppery pain in my nose pipes. Right then, a brooding shadow appears in front of me, closing out the brightness of light from what I suppose is a window. That forces my sight to clear out immediately to see a huge man standing before me. He's dressed in a long and nearly terrifying black robe. Striking obsidian eyes stare back at me as if to strip me bare of skin on the spot. His neat blonde hair is styled in a pretty ponytail. Nothing about him feels gentle or safe. Who the hell is he?I crouch out a cough, looking away from him to find iron chains on my
Chapter 6ALPHA KLEIN'S POVOne great lesson love has taught me is patience, especially with someone as fragile as Aurelia. Finally getting her back to shape, we settle quietly in the car and I drive back home with millions of thoughts running in my head. How do I discard Aurelia now before going on about my business with my mate?I should probably get a place outside the packhouse for the omega. With Aurelia now living in the packhouse, meeting secretly with her will be quite stringent. I definitely don't want Aurelia to find out about my sextual obsession with her Not now, not soon. Picking up my phone, I text Saxon to open the mindlink and let us have a talk. Only he and Aurelia knew about my mate bond with the omega. No one else can find out about it, especially the fact that I've been sextuallly involved with her for three long years, or I'd be doomed. ‘Alpha.’ Saxon cracks through the mindlink. ‘I need you to get that omega out of the packhouse. Prepare a place for me to me
Chapter 5ALPHA KLEIN'S POV‘‘Are you even listening to me, Klein?’’ Aurelia snaps at me with visible irritation on her face, jolting me back to present. “I-I'm sorry.” I let out a raspy breath, once again trying to focus on the ongoing ceremony before me. “What is wrong with you? You’ve been zoning out since the beginning of the ceremony, you couldn't even hear the vows.’’ She complained. All she's done since today is complain about this and that. But as annoying as it feels, her complaints were unfortunately valid. ‘You can't keep interrupting my ceremony like this, Xaia.’ I tell my wolf, frustrated myself by his stubborn lividness. ‘How dare you abandon our mate for this woman!’ He snaps curtly, not having it. ‘Stop being silly! I've told you I'll go to her once we're done here. I want her too, it's not just you.’ I snap back. “Klein?’’ Aurelia calls, staring at me unbelievably. “Did you literally just ignore me?’’ She says with shaky voice. I would have felt instantly guilt
Chapter 4Azalea's PovI slip out of the bed, surprising not only Alpha Klein but even myself at my strange readiness to defend his unprecedented attack. He tugs my arm angrily. “You won't speak of rejection to my face.’’ “Why not?’’ I fire back, yanking my hand from him. But his grip is too firm. ‘‘Don't be silly now, wolfless!’’“It's Azalea. Not wolfless!’’ I yell again. I'm so done with his neglect. I won't keep letting him treat me disdainfully while he showers another woman with love.“Who cares wtf your name is?’’ He frowns, then spins me over really fast. He traps my both hands behind me and slams me against the wall. That hurt through my bones. “You don't get to make demands with me, Mate.” He spells into my ear. “I'm not done with you yet. And until I am, no one is rejecting the other.” “I'm sick of this..!’’ I gasp, pain coursing through my arms. “You hate me so much that the thought that we're mates makes your skin crawl, so why won't you reject me?’’ “I ASKED YOU TO
Chapter 3ALPHA KLEIN'S POVI step back, unarmed by her demand. My phone rings from the table behind, and Aurelia rolls her eyes, exiting into the bedroom. I don't go after her now. I return for my phone instead, swallowing the lump in my throat as the call connects. ‘‘Saxon.’’ My beta. “Alpha, we just caught one of Héctor's spy in the woods.’’ He reports. ‘‘He won't say much though, he claims to be visiting his grandmother here.’’I scoff. “Bloody punk. Bring him back and throw him in a cell. Days of starvation will force the truth out of him.’’ “Sure.’’ The call disconnects, and I squeeze the phone. That little prick, Héctor! Until when will he learn that challenging me is a death game? I don't have his time yet, father is on a deathbed and his life matters more to me currently. Speaking of which, I should go to see him soon. All he ever does is talk about my mate which is so tiring. How I must find her and when I do, I shouldn't let her slip away. Or the pack will equally s
