LOGINChapter 3
Cheryl’s point of view It’s finally lunch break and my eyes scouted round the cafeteria for a familiar face before Sara and I settled down at our usual table close to a corner with our tray of lunch.“Who are you looking for?” Sara asked as she grabbed her juice bottle to open up.
I haven’t told her yet about the guy who came up to me with an envelope and the stunt Noel pulled on him afterwards.
The guy wanted back his envelope, but I told him I won’t be giving it back until I’ve read what’s written inside. So I told him to come take it back by lunch and now I’m eye searching for him.
I don’t think he’s around. Thank God, because I haven’t read the letter yet. I brought out the envelope from inside my bag.
“What’s that?” Sara asked the moment she saw it.
“I was gonna skip maths class this morning, then some kid came up to me and gave this to me.” I showed her the enveloped. “I’m about to check out what’s written inside. Because tell me why Noel was beating up the kid after he saw him give me an envelope.”
I stretched out the letter as I began reading through the content.
My expression scrunched. It’s a confession. Love confession. The kid is in love with me.
He started by complimenting my eyes, then my fashion sense and finally my personality. He ended his letter by asking me out on a date to watch my favorite movie because I’m apparently interesting enough for him to want to know more.
I don’t know. This wasn’t getting to me. This isn’t cute.
“What? What did he say in there?” Sara must have spotted my obvious irritation for her to grill out of curiosity.
I hissed as I rough up the paper into a crumpled piece. “The stupidest love confession I’ve ever seen,” I responded to Sara, my tone partially harsh at what I read and at myself for expecting a lot from a nerdy kid and an envelope.
He nearly lost his life giving me that envelope and it wasn’t even worth it. Rubbish.
“Did Noel know he was giving you a love letter?” Sara questioned equivocally, her brows creased together.
“I doubt. And if he does, why does it bother him? I’m telling you, you’d think that kid stole his money or something with the way he had him up against the wall and about to punch his guts out. If it wasn’t for the Principal, chances are the kid would be in a hospital bed right now,” I detailed for her to assess.
Perhaps she could discern what I’m failing to grasp about what Noel did.
“If I say what I think now, I might end up with a fork in my head.” Her head tilted as she rolled her eyes to make a knowing face.
I glared at her, “Don’t even try it!”
“I wasn’t. Listen I heard there’s going to be a party tonight at Jenna’s. Are you crashing? Heard Noel is gonna be there.”
A devious smirk cracked through my face at the heard of Noel at a party.
“Dan. One of his minions actually came up to invite me, which I thought was weird, and still is. But I guess I’d be crashing the party after all. Looks like Noel Williams has forgotten about his own rule to never attend a party or host one ever again. I’m gonna have to remind him of that.”
“I don’t think you should go,” Sara said, her opinion a sudden punch in my head.
I was already brainstorming ideas for the things I’d do to Noel tonight.
“What do you mean?” I asked her with a raised brows.
“I’m just saying. Isn’t it kinda suspicious how Dan would come invite you to a party that Noel, your arch nemesis would be attending? Safe to guess that they’ve had something planned for you, and it wouldn’t be as lenient as what you did to them. You need to think about it,” she explained herself and she made sense kind of.
Noel began ditching parties and avoid hosting them because of me. If he’s gonna start attending parties again, he needs to teach me a lesson to put a fresh memory in people’s mind.
However, I’m gonna attend that party. My mind is made up.
Good thing I’m now a step ahead of him. I know he has something planned for me, I don’t know what or need to. I’m just going to have to be extra careful and trust nobody.
On the other hand, I need to teach him a lesson for thinking it’s about time to go back on his rule to stop ditching parties.
And I need to do better than what I did the last time.
“Cheryl? Cheryl?!!!” Sara called out to me as I didn’t even realized I’ve zoned out from our conversation completely.
I looked her expectantly. Why was she calling me?
“Are you going to the party or not?” Her head shook alongside her words.
“Going. I know Noel has a plan, it’s time to work on a plan of mine too. That party is going to be a memorable clash.” I grinned, menacingly.
“What are you planning to do?”
“I don’t know yet, but I have the rest of the day to figure it out. Well until eight, the party starts at eight.”
“And whose party are you speaking to attend, freak?!”
My eyes snapped close so I could drag in a peaceful breath long enough to deal with the bratty voice that just invaded my ears.
I looked up to my side and there she was. Her two other clowns staged on her sides like the shadows they were.
“Yours Jenna, yours. I’m attending your party, and if I were you. I’d be careful of how you treat me just before a party. I’d hate to let my reputation pick you as its newest victim,” I responded to her and watched as her courage whisked off.
“I don’t care about your stupid reputation. I’m not scared of you or anything. I’m just here to warn you to stay away from Noel. I know you’ll be at this party so stay away from or you’ll be kicked out,” she said after a long silence, as though building back her guts.
“If it makes you feel any better. The boy you’re worried about is not half as worried about you as he’s obsessed with me. Yeah I know that doesn’t make you feel better, but when have I ever wanted you to feel anything but small and miserable in front of me?” I asked her with a smile on my face. It was a rhetorical question, but her imploding face was answering for me. I stood up, my height towering few inches above her.
She might be the queen bitch, but the sooner she learn not to block my path or pick on me, the better it is for her.
Her face just made me lose my appetite.
“Let’s go Sara, we’ve got a major party plan to work!” I kept my gaze locked on hers while I muttered to my best friend.
She just motivated me the more to turn that party into another mess of a party.
Chapter 10: Kill Him Later. Cheryl’s POV Unbelievable. Totally unbelievable! I can’t believe that jerk. Who does he think he is? So rules doesn’t apply to him when it’s his move, but does and should work for me when it’s my turn. He’s one heck of a dumbass who probably left his brain behind in his mother’s womb.Ugh! I’m so pissed. I wasn’t satisfied with how I left him, I left him merely stunned. I would’ve preferred I left him bawling, agitated and at the verge of exploding. I shouldn’t mess with his friends right? Well, that’s just about the entirety of my revenge plan. He’s gonna curse the day he made me his enemy. I had to skip Mr Turner’s class. I’m too angry and wouldn’t focus on any of his teachings, it’s better I visit the one place I can stay to get my mind off the chaos. The library. There’s this book I’m currently reading, some ancient fantasy romance fiction- and while I’m not an avid reader like many are, I do enjoy reading because it does calm my nerves or whatev
Chapter 9: You Bite, I Chew. Noel’s point of viewI don’t know what that redhead freak is plotting or thinks she can do, but one thing she shouldn’t do is- mess with my friends! I draw the line at interfering my brothers in our messy tangled lives. Now I have no idea what she has on Nick, but I need to get him vindicated. And the first step is to fucking find Nick! Where the hell did he vanish to? I already checked at our spot, his own favorite spot, and other places we’ve hung out. There was only a spot left and it’s beyond the school’s building. I sought out the destination, and relieved when I sighted him sitting alone by the tree’s shade alone. His back was rested against the tree, and his eyes closed like someone lost and deep in his thoughts. “Nick!” I called softly as soon as I arrived at a close range, “Nick!” I proceeded to tap him on his shoulder since he wouldn’t bulge to my callings. His eyes peeled apart, gazing straight at me in a lowered expression. “Look man. I
Chapter 8: Do A Better Job.Cheryl’s point of view I was behind his flat tires. The plan was to mess with the car’s engine and give it a problem, but then I realized I had zilch knowledge on cars so I settled for bursting the tires instead. And that’s just the beginning. He’s going to spend the rest of school year constantly repairing those tires. I’m guessing he’s found out about me and Nick from his words to me earlier. Good, that means the dynamite has been matched. I stood in front of my locker, about to open and remove a book I’ll be needing for my next class which is English. Then I felt her presence. I look to my side and there she was, a cupcake held with both her hands and stretching out for me to cake. It’s chocolate and according to a rule we’ve agreed on, if the both of us ever got in a fight with each other, a chocolate cupcake is expected to be given out by either one of us to reconcile. I glared down at the cupcake, and up at her, then back down at the cupcake. I
Chapter 7 Noel’s POV. A murder was attempted on me. I was pushed into the lake to drown, and I would’ve if Kate hadn’t come to my rescue. She’s part of the school’s swim team. Apparently she’s been in search of me for some reasons and came over when she learnt I was by the lake. Only she met me drowning. She pulled me out, and asked about how I got in. Which was a mystery to the both of us. Someone pushed me. I’m sure of it. I just don’t know who. I later skipped the rest of the night with Kate. She invited me over to her residence because her parents weren’t home and she was kind of alone except for her nanny that randomly checks in on her daily. I’ve been with her ever since that night. She saved my life and I’ve yet to figure out a way to repay her, so my company is sufficing till then. I caught a flu the next day of my dash into the lake and couldn’t go to school. But my friends kept me updated on Freak’s absence and how the school pretty much wouldn’t forget about what ha
Chapter 6: Taste Of A Different Medicine. Cheryl’s point of view Mom and my new stepfather doesn’t need to know the reason why I’ve skipped school for two days in a row and refuse to join them downstairs for any sort of family meal. Though I could have, because ever since he did what he did. He hasn’t stepped foot in this house for the past four days now. Yup that’s right, he skipped his father’s wedding. I also did. I mean it was a court wedding, and there wasn’t a need for me to attend. Albeit I was wanted there, and I had to use my shitty break as an excuse to skip. But they at least knew about my whereabouts. I don’t know about Noel’s. I didn’t bother to ask or was even curious enough to want to know his whereabouts. And quite honestly, I’ve silently prayed to the universe over the past few days that he got hit by a bus and landed in a coma or something. Yeah we’ve gotten to that point. He ruined my life. Why? For the sake of his sick demented amusement. He isn’t just a jer
Chapter 5: Too Far or Too Deep?Noel’s POV You’d think I feel good with everything I did to Freak tonight at the party, but I don’t. I mean I was feeling good until the statement she made before leaving. “Whatever we have going on was always suppose to be between us. Between the both of us only. You didn’t have to make my best friend betray me….” Those words repeatedly stalked my mind. Did I really went too far with tonight? I thought this was our game, to destroy each other. Or maybe she just said that to me so I wouldn’t think about how she got defeated and rather be caught up in a strange trap of guilt. I could’ve truly made her best friend betrayed her like she claimed but I did not. All I did was made her escort me to a party for the sake of the video that was made of us. Sara doesn’t know anything about the video. Only I do. Sara once had a crush on me and thought she’d try her luck. She sent me a box with my favorite chocolate candies, and a letter professing her love.I
