Chapter 9

The butterflies in my stomach couldn’t stop bursting in joy the moment I heard those words from the woman I still loved all these years. It was like music to my ears that I would love to be on repeat all day and all night.

“Let’s start again. I’ll let you explain everything.”

I was awed on that day, and I couldn't believe that despite the pain I had caused to her three years ago, she would give me another chance to explain my side. To be honest, hindi ko naman talaga ginustong iwanan noon si Pamela sa araw mismo ng kasal namin. Damn, God knows that I had waited for that day to come; it was the day I was excitingly looking forward to—Pamela to become my wife and the mother of my children, to become Mrs. Martin finally.

It’s just that… I have my reasons that I couldn’t tell because I don’t want to put my loved ones’ lives at risk. I only did what I thought was the best for them.
