Chapter 1

I never thought that getting into a car with my triplets could end up like this. I had always been cautious and careful while driving, but this time, things were out of my control. We were on our way to my friend's house for a family gathering when suddenly the car's brakes failed.

The car started to speed up, and I panicked. I tried to step on the brakes again, but they were not responding. My triplets, who were sitting in the back seat, started to cry and scream. I felt helpless, and all I could do was pray that we would be okay.

As we were heading towards a red light, I realized that we were going to crash into the car in front of us. I honked the horn repeatedly to warn the driver, and fortunately, he moved out of the way.

I panicked and quickly turned into the street hoping to slow the car down. As the car sped through the bumpy street, it lost control and crashed straight into the wall.

We hit the wall with such force that the sound of metal crunching and glass shattering around me was deafening and the airbags were deployed immediately, and we were thrown forward. I felt a sharp pain in my head, and my vision started to blur.

I woke up and my first thought was shock and disbelief. It all happened so fast that I couldn't quite comprehend what was going on.

I felt a sharp pain in my head and a rush of warmth spreading across my face. My heart was racing, and I struggled to catch my breath.

It took a moment for me to realize that I had been in a serious accident. My car was smashed in on the driver's side, and the windshield was shattered. I looked around, trying to assess the situation, but everything was a blur.

Despite the chaos around me, I remained conscious and alert. I knew I needed to stay calm and try to focus. I could feel the blood trickling down my forehead, and my neck was sore from the impact.

I turned to check on my triplets, and thankfully, they were strapped in tightly and had no visible injuries.

They were crying and scared, but they were alive. I tried to calm them down, but I was struggling to stay conscious.

I quickly unbuckled my seat belt and tried to open the door but it didn't budge. I had to gather the little bits of energy from my wolf to knock the door open and step out.

As I stepped out, a gust of wind hit me and brought the scent of petrol. My eyes widened in shock as I realized the car's fuel tank was leaking and dripping fuel. It could explode at any moment.

I walked to the back seats with my wobbly weak legs and tried opening the back door. Like the driver's door, it was also stuck.

I pulled the door knob several times before it finally yanked open and I went inside to carry my triplets one after the other.

I took a wrapper, grabbed one of the triplets, placed her on my back, and secured her with the wrapper while I carried the remaining two in my arms.

After securing my children, I yanked my bag and carried it with the little strength I had as we walked home.

As I walked away from the car, a few feet away, I heard a loud explosion that sent me staggering to the ground and I crouched to protect my babies.

After the loud boom, I stood up and turned around to see my car engulfed in flames, the explosion sending shrapnel flying in all directions. I could feel the heat from the fire even from where I was standing, and the shock of what had just happened sent me reeling.

I watched as the flames engulfed my car, the heat radiating off of the metal and the tires popping from the intense heat. Smoke billowed into the sky, blackening the once-blue horizon.

As I stood there, watching my car burn to the ground, I felt a mix of emotions. Part of me was relieved that I was able to get my children out and walk away from the car on time.

Tears began to fall from my eyes as I thanked the Moon Goddess for her mercy and protection while forgetting my sorrows.

Despite my weakness and injured body I carried my children and walked down the silent street hoping to find someone to help us.

From a distance, I saw a black car entering the street. As it approached us, I screamed, "Help, help, help. Please help me."

I was unable to wave my hands to signal to them so I prayed my voice was enough to get their attention and it was.

The black car parked in front of me and a couple alongside a lady stepped out.

"What happened?" They inquired and I explained my ordeal to them. As the woman supported me, one by one, they carried my children from me and into the car wanting to take us to the hospital for a checkup.

I placed my leg into the car and heard a loud thud accompanied by a sharp pain at the back of my head.

I unconsciously placed my hand at the back of my head and brought it to my eyes and it was filled with blood. It was then my brain registered that I had been hit with a stick.

I closed my eyes and fell on the floor with a thud as I lost track of my environment.

I woke up afterwards and the next thing I knew, I found myself in the hospital. I could hear the nurses talking to each other, and I felt a sense of relief that my babies and I are alive.

I was happy that the family we saw helped and rushed us to the hospital after the tragic event.

They wrapped a bandage around my head after treating my injuries and attended to my wounds. I sat up and signaled to the nearest nurse.

Although my head was aching badly, the welfare of my children was paramount.

She walked towards me with the other nurses and checked my vitals.

She looked at my card before asking, "Miss Bailey Willers, you were involved in a fatal accident but you were rushed to the hospital just in time. How are you feeling now?"

"Fine, fine," I said, not caring about myself. "How are my babies?" I asked her.

She turned her head and looked at her colleagues with a strange expression, using their eyes to communicate, and I began to feel turmoil build up inside me.

"What babies?" The nurse asked me.
