Chapter 2

"What babies?" The nurses asked.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY WHAT BABIES?" I screamed and asked them in return, blood pumping into my veins.

"Where are my triplets?" I asked, my voice breaking as my brain made up incidents that could have happened to them.

"Calm down ma'am. The police brought you here alone. You were not with any child." One of the nurses said calmly, insinuating that the head injury affected me.

"Police? There was no police." I informed them. "We were saved by a family in a black car. They took my babies and I was about to enter with them before I was knocked out."

I gasped as those words left my mouth. I immediately knew they were not the good samaritans I thought they were. They took my babies.

I grabbed the nurse next to me and begged, "You have to call the police, they took my babies, they are kidnappers!" I said crying like a helpless mother. "Please."

They all looked at me and shook their head with pity. One of them grabbed a phone and made a call to the police and within a split second, my eyes felt heavy and my head, light.

Before I knew it, I passed out while waiting for a response from the nurses.

I woke up again, fixed to a drip and when the nurse saw I was awake she rushed out to call the doctor.

"Here she is, doctor. I think the injury affected her brain a little. She keeps asking of her triplets." She informed him outside the room and I scoffed.

The Doctor laughed and entered before approaching me, "How are you, ma'am?"

I ignored his question, then I asked weakly, "Where are my children?"

He looked at me in disbelief before telling the nurse to prepare me for a brain exam. They believed I was mad.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I knew the Doctor and nurses were of no help. Immediately after they left, I quickly scanned my environment and located my bag. I removed the needle in my arm and the bandage on my head.

I carried my bags and looked out for any nurse or Doctor. When I was sure the coast was clear, I dashed out of the door and ran to the exit.

"Hey, stop. Stop running!!!" One of the nurses who attended to me yelled across the hall and I increased my pace. I paid no attention to anyone who called me as I ran out of the hospital and called a cab.

"Police station," I said to the driver as I entered it. I had to file a complaint and find my children.

I opened my bag and rummaged through my things to find my phone. I took it out and called my roommate. It rang for a while before she picked up the call. "Bailey, where are you and where's the car?” she asked with a harsh tone.

Sobbing, I replied to her, "We were involved in an accident and the triplets were kidnapped."

"Kidnapped? How?" She screamed.

"I don't know, I was knocked out," I answered her still crying profusely.

"Where are you now? She asked.

"I'm on my way to the police station to file a complaint. I need to find my babies." I said to her.

''We'll find them, I promise. I'll meet you at the hospital in 10 minutes." She assured me.

I arrived at the police station after a few minutes and Sasha arrived almost at the same time. We entered the station and started the process to file a kidnap case.

The police didn't believe us at first, just like the doctor and nurses, but after showing them proof that I had triplets and they were kidnapped, they started attending to us.

After a while of answering the officer's questions, he gave me a form to fill and I stood up to fill it out while he attended to another person.

I sat on the nearest chair and carefully filled out the form with my shaky hands. Sasha sat down beside me, consoling and reassuring me.

"Bailey, I think you should inform Lucas." She suggested.

I looked up at her with a serious face before speaking in my cracked voice.

"Why? He doesn't even know about them." I retorted.

"Nevertheless Bailey, he is their father, and he has the right to know about their existence and their present predicament, B." She called for short.

"B, he's a powerful man. With his connections, you can find your children easily. The police won't look for them like he would and you know that."

A glimmer of hope spread across my face but it was replaced with sadness. "They despise me, Lucas despises me. I won't get to see him." I said sobbing again.

"You would see him. Do it for your children B. Only nature knows what they are going through."

“What about the police?” I asked.

"Don't worry about them. I'll deal with them here while you find your babies in the supernatural world."

"Yeah, thanks Sash. I'll get going immediately after I submit this form." I said before I hugged her and stood up to meet the officers.

I submitted the form and went outside to meet Sasha. She handed me a bag filled with clothes and supplies I'll need throughout the trip.

"Thanks, Sash." I hugged her before entering the cab and headed to the nearest train station.

I booked a ticket and immediately entered the train when I arrived at the station. The journey to the Pack location took hours but I got there eventually.

From the sight of a human, a forest filled with thick trees could be seen. But as a werewolf, the invisible border could be seen shining under the sun.

As I stared at the border wall, I had flashbacks of how I was brutally sent out of the pack while I was unknowingly pregnant. As these memories came flooding in, I pushed them back.

"I'm here for my children. My children alone!" I said to reassure myself. It was a tragic past I didn't want to visit.

I closed my eyes as I stepped inside the border and into the Blue moon pack.

Immediately I entered, I felt the familiar and unwanted atmosphere around me. I walked to the trees to find the path that leads to the pack house.

I walked for minutes till I got to the community. I couldn't help but notice the lively atmosphere around me.

The streets were decorated with colorful banners and streamers, and people were milling around in the square, laughing and chatting.

Curiosity piqued, I made my way toward the square, eager to find out what was going on.

As I approached, the sound of music and laughter grew louder, and I could see that there were stalls set up distributing food and drinks.

The air was thick with the aroma of freshly cooked delicacies, and my stomach growled in response but I didn't pay attention to it.

I struck up a conversation with the person next to me.

"Excuse me, do you know what's going on here?" I asked, gesturing towards the festivities.

"Are you new here?" She answered with a smile and I nodded.

"We are celebrating the Alpha's mate." She finally answered.

"Mate? Which Alpha?" I asked out of curiosity and slight jealousy.

"Alpha Lucas is getting married." She beamed.
