Chapter 2

"So, pa'no ka kaya napapayag ni dad? Knowing that you almost killed me with your stares earlier?" I slowly walked near him as I stare at my dad who's now walking out also.

"It's none of your business," he coldly said. I pouted, acting cute because of his seriousness. I mean, can't he just act nice?

"Why are you so mean ba? Don't you like me?" I smirked a little. Kung ayaw niya sa 'kin, bakit siya pumayag in doing this? Maybe he likes me and he wants to know me, kind of like that.

"No. Hindi ko 'to papasukin kung walang kapalit, I don't like you." Nalaglag ang panga ko sa sagot niya. Is he really this straight forward?

"Wow, how brave are you to say that straight into my face?" I like this guy's attitude. Well, he's mean but.. Mean in a hot way?

"Brave enough to say it twice, miss. I don't like you." Napairap ako sa sagot niya. There was no hint of joy in his voice. It was formal, cold and serious.

"You're boring, you know that? Ang plain mo, sobra. But anyways.." hinawakan ko ang braso niya at hihilain na sana siya patungong kwarto nang marahas niyang inalis ang hawak ko. "What the?"

"My business for tonight is done. I hope you'll have bad dreams, Adeline." He coolly walked away from me, making me stunned. What? Did he just hoped for me to have bad dreams?

"Oh how so sweet of you! Dream of me, billionaire!" I shouted but he simply raised his hand and waved it to answer my shout. "Tch, so jeje. He could've just said goodnight, seriously?"

I rolled my eyes and walked to the near staircase, leading me straight to my room. Ah, what a boring night, it is. I mean, I should have invited my friends but if I did that? I wouldn't meet Kaius. Good thing I decided to be with myself, eventhough it was boring.

"Adeline, may bisita ka." Dad voice echoed in my ears. Morning came and as I enter the dining room, I saw the familiar back of the guy who wished me bad dreams.

"Good morning, dad. Good morning my second daddy-- kidding." I giggled and sat on his side. When I looked at the two, they were both serious and they look stupid. I'm just being honest.

"Adeline, will you go out with Kaius for the day? I mean, you two should date. Enjoy each other's company, get to know each other, right?" As we were in the middle of eating breakfast, dad made a very very great suggestion, making me smile widely.

"That? That would be a great thing to do. I think I would enjoy a date with Kai," I exclaimed. I looked at Kaius who's now looking confused at my dad. "You'll go out with me, right?"

"He will, but don't make him your personal assistant," dad said with the judging tone. I rolled my eyes and eyed him.

"I won't, but we would buy things we like, of course. I mean, why not buying things when you have the money?" I looked at Kaius once again and smiled sweetly. He sighed when he realized I was waiting for his answer.

"Sige, pero may meeting ako by four p.m. kaya hindi rin siguro magtatagal," his answer made me satisfied. I gave him a victory smile when he looked at my way but he only shook his head. I was about to speak when my dad's phone rang.

"Ah, excuse me. I need to answer this." He stood up as he answered the call and walked away.

"What's wrong?" I looked at Kaius when I heard his worried voice. My smile immediately rose up once again.

"Why? Are you worried of me?" I playfully asked. Of course I won't tell him what's wrong, why would I? Not because I want him to be my toy means I could trust him.

"Tss, nagtatanong lang. What's wrong?" He repeated his question. I smirked at him and shook my head a little.

"Ang chismoso mo naman," I giggled but he just glared at me. I won't tell him that it was my father's mistress, of course.

"Nevermind. Be quick, hanggang alas kwatro lang ako." He stood up immediately. I was shocked because of his action but I realized that he finished eating. But still, wala ba siyang table manners? He should have waited for me, right?

"You can talk and sit beside me, you know? I won't bite." He stopped walking and looked at me, thinking on what to do. "Well, unless you like."

"Puro kalokohan. Finish it and follow me outside. Then we'll go shopping," he sighed.

"How is the call with the mistress?" I asked. He was a minute frozen until he looked at me with confusion on his face-- well, he's not a bad actor.

"Anong ibig mong sabihin?" He coolly sat down in front of me and gave me a confused look. I laughed sarcastically because of his answers.

"Alam mo? No wonder bakit tayo iniwan ni mom. You focus on those kind of things. Business, money, girls and stuff." I opened up the topic. I know na iiwas siya but why do I care? I want to say all of this straight to his face again and again.

"Adeline, ilang beses ba kitang kailangang sabihan na hindi ko babae 'yon?" I gave him a sarcastic smile as an answer to what he said. But I was not that satisfied so I spoke once again.

"Really? Ilang beses ka nang nahuli, yet you still deny it? Just admit that you cheated that's why mom left." I stood up as I said those words, he looked up to me. "Excuse me, I lost my appetite." Then I immediately walked out of the room.
