Thirst for revenge

I found it difficult to fathom what was going on with my life, especially with birds barging in my room and speaking to me. I mean it was already enough that I had to be told that I am a vampire and a witch. My life was totally ruined and there was no going back to fix it.

I laid down on the bed, drifting into my thoughts until I heard someone groaning beside me. I looked at Paula and she was awake.

“Hey, sweetie. Are you okay?” her grey eyes misted with tears. My heart couldn’t help but feel clogged at the sight of my little being hurt. I engulfed her in my arms, as if she’d escape anytime I blink.

“Mama, I’m scared.” She whimpered as small sobs left her lips. I rubbed her back. Soothing her.

“You don’t have to be my love. Mama is here and she’ll protect you” her breathing had calmed down, hence I lay her on the bed. A light tap resonated from the door. I waited to see who it was.

Thankfully it was Charmaine and aunt Marah.
