Witches day out

It was past midnight when I woke up, not by my choice though; but by the blood curdling screams that echoed in the castle. I had so much forgotten that my daughter was still missing and there was a search party out there, looking for her.

I tried as much to keep my eyes shut since sleep didn't seem to consume me. However, whatever attempt I tried to keep still and not let curiosity control me, I found myself on the soft fluffy carpet on my bare feet.

The horrendous scream was getting louder and louder. Twisting the gold knob, I set my feet on the wooden carpet. I could feel my heart palpitating at every step I took and every creak the old wood made as I walked.

My ears were alerted as I followed the screams, and I found myself out the front door and into the woods I went; hoping I could bump into her accidentally. I didn't mind if there was someone who could possibly look for me. What I had in my mind was look for my child and get to where the screams were coming from.
