Chapter-5

Cynthia

Age-14

After Aaron left me there all alone, I didn’t waste any time and started my walk back home. I knew now I will have to come clean to my parents no matter the consequences. Hearing Aaron’s pain for my parents makes me feel stupid now. every reason that I thought was good enough now only looks like an excuse.

The reason I wanted to hide my beast from my parents was that I thought I would turn blonde after finding my mate most definitely and even if not that I thought turning 18 would help me. But knowing how Dad wanted to elope with us to save me changes everything.

I can’t let them destroy their lives for me. I know shifting with my color will bring much more wrath than now but I can’t help this anymore. The least I can do is tell my parents the truth and no I will not escape this clan. Things have changed now. I have a mate now. Aaron, Alpha King Aaron. I probably knew him all my life but strangely my first memory of him is when I was around 8.

AGE-8 CYNTHIA

“Will you be okay here sweety?’’ Mommy asked me with her sweet smile as she patted my head.

I nodded with all the excitement I was already feeling. Today we were visiting, Daddy’s best friend, King Aaron and he had the prettiest blue eyes just like the sky no-no it’s darker than that. I just know they look very pretty and they also sparkle.

Mommy and Daddy didn’t want to bring me because they said, King Aaron is very sad today and I will just trouble him. But I wanted to come so badly, I just knew I have to come. I didn’t know why until now. it is because King Aaron’s home has the best playground.

They have so many swings that I almost screamed with excitement but then I recalled what Daddy told me. They only brought me here because I pinky promised him to not make any big noises.

“Tessa! Did you already pass your condolence to the royal family?’’ Momma’s friend with red hair asked. I don’t know her name but I know she smells like roses.

“No, I was just about to go, Seth is already there,” Mommy replied while I was busy trying to free my hand from hers to go to the swings when the red hair lady looked down at me.

“You brought Cynthia? Why?’’ the lady hissed at Mommy.

“She wouldn’t stay, believe me, I had no choice, I tried to leave her with Mom but she started crying her heart out, even Riley was starting to wail with her. I had to bring her.”

The lady shook her head and looked down at me, whoa! she also has blue eyes. Why don’t I have blue eyes too? I like them so much. I will ask Daddy to make my eyes blue too, Mommy says Daddy can do anything for us anyway.

“Little lady, don’t make trouble and stay where your parents left you.” She said and started to pat my head but I jerked my head back.

“Cynthia Michaels! Stop being rude, now! Don’t take it personally Maya, she’s been like this since morning.’’ Mommy scolded me softly.

“Never mind! Let’s just go now.’’ She, the read-haired lady huffed and strolled toward the big house of King Aaron.

“Thia baby! Please don’t go anywhere until I come, okay?” Momma said and kissed my head but after she also went in the same direction and I ran toward my swings, whoopie!! I am going to have the best time.

The park was as big as our entire school, just without the buildings. I was running around trying every swing I liked. King Aaron is so lucky that he gets to live here. I head Mommy and Daddy call this place palace once but I will just call it his house. Everyone should have a house and King Aaron lives here so that makes this place his house. I was still busy swinging when suddenly I heard King Aaron.

“What do we have here, a little princess?”

I looked behind me to see King Aaron standing with his hands folded. I giggled looking at him but stopped swinging.

“No Princess! I am Cynthia, you don’t remember?” I pointed at me and looked up toward our King.

“NO! I would never, how can I forget our sweet Cynthia?” King Aaron asked with his pretty blue eyes widened, seeing his funny expression made me laugh.

“You are funny,” I said and smiled up at him.

“Can I join you little Thia?” He asked suddenly looking tired and when I nodded he came and sat on another swing set beside me. When he didn’t start swinging, I remembered how Daddy told me he is sad today.

“Are you hurt somewhere, King Aaron?” I asked him. If he is hurt, I will call Daddy, he can make every pain go away.

“I- I am little princess, I just- my heart hurts.” He said and stood up from the swing while rubbing his long neck.

“I am sorry Thia, I am probably not the best playmate for you right now.” He said in his sad voice which hurt me too that’s why I decided to share my magic with him.

“King Aaron?’’ I called as he was leaving. Leaving my swing I ran toward him as he slowed down and turned toward me.

“Can you bent down?” I whispered shouted.

“Huh? Do you want me to”

“Yes! Yes! Just do it.” I said and look around me to see if anyone was there.

When he got on his knees and we were finally eyes to eyes, I told him my secret. “I am going to share my magic with you, but you have to promise me you won’t tell anyone, not even Daddy. He knows about my magic but he told me not to share it with anyone, especially, not boys and you are a boy. So pinky promise me you won’t tell anyone.” I said and extended my pinky finger to him.

He looked confused but extended his own pinky and locked it with my own. “I promise.” As soon as I heard his promise, I closed my eyes and hugged him as tight as I could, hoping to pass on my magic to him so that he could heal. Mommy and Daddy say my hugs are magical and could heal anyone but one day when I tried to heal Cole’s broken nose with my magic, Daddy explained to me how if I use it too much with other people, it could even finish.

He also told me that other boys can eat up most of my magic so I should not share it with them. But King Aaron is Daddy’s friend and he is very hurt today, I had to heal him.

After hugging him for a good amount of time, I finally broke the hug and looked up at him but instead of smiling like I was expecting him to, he was crying.

“Are you still not healed?” I asked frowning at him.

His sparkling blue eyes, filled with tears looked down at me, and he again surprised me by smiling. “You have a magic Cynthia and Daddy is right don’t give it to other boys easily.” With that, he stood up and patted my chick.

“I am healed but now I have to go and do what I should have done long ago.” He said and starting to leave me again and not liking that sight, I again called him.

This time he only half turned and wiggled his eyebrows funnily making me giggle once again.

“Can I ask you something, King Aaron.?”

“Yes! Little princess, anything.”

“Why are you so tall?” I asked and craned my neck to see his pretty face smiling at me.

King Aaron laughed. “Because I eat my greens and drink my milk.” I scrunched my face in disgust but he just laughed again and went in the same direction as Mommy.

AGE-14 CYNTHIA

Now that I think about it, it feels like even then I knew he was my mate. I was not a cry baby but that day Mom says I was crying like a newborn. It's like I knew I need to comfort my mate. I need to be there for him. But what about Aaron? Will he ever find out? Or will I have to go and spell it out for him?.
