Michael’s POV

The girl looked like she had been through hell; blood trickled from the wounds on her arm, and her breathing was hard as the wolfsbane coursed through her veins. It won't be long until she passes out.

“Are you deaf?” I asked her again, with my voice louder than I had intended it to be.

She looked at me with fear and confusion. “I don't know,” she whispered in pain.

“You don’t know if you are deaf?” I questioned.

She hesitated and glanced back at her mate. “I don't know if I should go with you.”

She was reluctant to go with me, and I understood her fears; her body trembled and was weak as she reeked of blood and wolfsbane.

“I will not ask again.” I said in annoyance, “This is not a request; it is an order.”

Her lips opened a bit, probably to argue, but she shut it almost immediately; her eyes flickered between I and the mate, who stood frozen to the ground.

I turned to face him; my wolf growled in anger, and I tried to calm down. I was enraged; he had dared to harm his mate… hunt her down like a prey. I wanted to rip him apart.

“You!” I yelled, “You will forget this woman exists; you will not speak of her name, search for her, or even think about her. Do you understand me?”

He hesitated, but I gave a low growl, and he quickly nodded. “Yes, Alpha Michael,” he responded.

I stepped closer. “And your men?”

“They will forget as well,” he stammered a bit.

I didn't trust his words, so I raised my hands, compelling a group of men behind him, “Forget her,” I commanded, “forget everything that happened here. Leave”

The men blinked in unison, and without a word, they turned and began walking back into the woods. Their leader gave her one last look and followed them.

I turned back to her, and she was clutching her stomach; her face had turned pale, and strength was nearly gone; I couldn't even feel her wolf anymore.

“You’re coming with me, pup,” I said with authority as I scooped her into my arms; she whimpered softly and relaxed into my hands with her head falling against my chest.

“I will take care of you,” my wolf murmured.

Her breathing was shallow; her weight was very light, which wasn't surprising considering how malnourished she looked.

I carried her through the woods to my car, where my driver was waiting. I noticed his eyes widened and his brows furrowed at the sight of the bloodied woman in my arms, but he said nothing.

“Open the door, Mark,” I ordered. He hurriedly opened the door, and I placed her gently; she whimpered softly again as her body settled on the leather seats. I climbed in beside her and gestured for Mark to start moving.

As the car sped through the streets, I glanced down at her.

Her eyes were closed; she was slipping in and out of consciousness; her body was struggling against the effects of the poison.

“You will be fine,” I said, even though I was not sure she could hear me.

Her head tilted to the side, and a faint whisper escaped her lips, “Freedom…”

My heart skipped a beat at her words; she had been desperate enough to reject her mate and face death just for a chance to escape.

Whatever hell she had endured had broken her to the point where she would rather die than remain bound to that pack.

I pulled out my phone and dialed my doctor's number. “Dr. Jay,” I said as soon as he picked up. “I need you at my penthouse ASAP—severe wolfsbane poisoning; bring everything you need.”

“I’m on my way, Alpha,” he replied.

I ended the call and turned back to her; beneath her bloodied face was a beautiful girl with perfect eyebrows and full lips.

The car ride to the city was a silent and quick one. We finally arrived at my penthouse; I nodded to the security guards, who quickly stepped aside.

The elevator to the top floor felt like a whole eternity; every second felt like a thousand years as I kept glancing at her pale face.

We finally got to my door, and I gently lay her down on the couch; my head fell to the side, and her lips moved, but no sound came out.

Her eyes fluttered open briefly. “You saved me…” She said, her voice was soft.

I kneeled beside her. “You need to save your strength; the doctor will soon be here.”

She smiled as she struggled to keep her eyes open. “You're an angel,” she whispered.

I froze at her words, unsure of how to respond. Over the years, people had called me names; they had referred to me as a demon, as a monster, even called me the devil, but this… this was new.

“You are my angel.” She repeated, her fingers reached out and brushed my face before falling back.

Her delusional state tugged at my heart; I knew it was the wolfsbane, but her words made my heart race.

I wasn't an angel; I was far from being an angel, but the way she looked at me, the way she touched me even in her weakened state, made me wonder if I could be something better.

The doorbell rang, jolting me out of my thoughts. I stood up and went to open the door.

I opened the door to see the doctor; I stepped aside to let him through. “She is on the couch,” I said.

Dr. Jay wasted no time; he set his medical bag down and began examining her. In a few minutes he had cleaned up her wounds and administered antidote to neutralize the wolfsbane.

“She will recover,” he said. “She just needs to rest and replenish her strength, keep her hydrated, and ensure she eats as soon as she throws up—the next 24 hours will be difficult for her,” he said.

I knew what he was talking about; she was going to see things that weren't there and also hear strange things.

I turned back to the couch; her body seemed to have eased a bit. I took a seat beside her; she stirred slightly and turned her head towards me.

She opened her eyes slowly. “Where…” she started to say, but her voice trailed off.

“You are safe,” I said as I leaned in closer, “You are in my home.”

Her brows furrowed, and she tried to sit up, but her body refused to cooperate. “Why?”

“Because you are mine,” I said.

Lana’s POVI stood by my window, scheming and calculating in me head, then I noticed Michael but he soon disappeared into the back seat of his car like some mysterious god off to wage another war. His driver, Mark, rounded the vehicle quickly and slid into the front seat. Seconds later, the engine purred to life, and the car eased out of the estate gates.Good.He was gone. And not for just a few hours.A few days.I turned to my girls, they were both leaning on the balcony railing with me, sipping coffee like this was just another morning. But I could see it in their eyes: they were waiting for me to make the first move.“He’ll be gone for three, maybe four days,” I said, swirling my cup, watching the steam rise and fade into the cool morning air. “Council business. His father practically dragged him away.”“And he just left her here?” Asha asked.“Please. Of course he did. That stray has him so twisted, he doesn’t even realize what a mistake he’s made bringing her into this house.”

  • SAVED BY THE RUTHLESS ALPHA; Audrey’s Second Chance   CHAPTER 15

Lana’s POVThe hallway felt colder than usual.Or maybe it was because I saw him.Michael.I froze the moment I turned the corner and spotted him walking toward me... his usual unreadable face, his eyes dark with that infernal Alpha calm that masked the monster underneath. My hand unconsciously moved to my neck. The bruises had faded thanks to the healer, but the memory hadn’t.The memory of his hand wrapped around my throat, the fear, the humiliation… the way I couldn’t breathe... not just physically, but emotionally.Michael had never touched me like that before. Not even in anger. But yesterday…Yesterday, he almost killed me.And all because of her.The stray. The fragile-looking wolf he carried into the manor like she was made of gold and starlight. The one he defended publicly. The one who had ruined everything I’d worked so hard to build.Michael’s gaze flicked toward me as he passed.I held my chin high, refusing to meet his eyes. But I couldn’t stop the tremor in my hand.I

  • SAVED BY THE RUTHLESS ALPHA; Audrey’s Second Chance   CHAPTER 14

Michael’s POVThe council chamber had barely cooled from the earlier tension, but my Beta was already waiting when I stepped onto the lower terrace behind the manor.Ryan stood by the edge of the stone railing with his arms crossed and eyes focused on the forest in the distance. The sky was beginning to darken and streaked with burning amber and violet clouds. A storm was coming. Not just in the sky but through blood.“We’ve got a problem,” he said without turning.“Start talking.”“It’s not just border tests anymore, We’ve lost sixteen wolves in the last six days.” Ryan announced. That snapped me still.

  • SAVED BY THE RUTHLESS ALPHA; Audrey’s Second Chance   CHAPTER 13

Audrey’s POVThe door clicked shut behind the maid, and I was left alone in the VIP guest suite.I didn’t know what I expected...a some small, spare room in the farthest corner of the manor? A cold bed and silence? Maybe something that screamed “you don’t belong here”?But this…This was excessive. The room was large, it was twice the size of the one I had in Michael’s penthouse. Cream-colored walls, gold-framed art, velvet curtains that swayed slightly from the breeze rolling in through the balcony doors. A chandelier sparkled above my head. There was even a fireplace, though it sat unlit. A fully stocked bookcase lined one wall, and a vanity stood near the walk-in closet like it was meant for royalty.I stepped forward carefully, still favoring my injured ankle. There was no denying it: the room was beautiful. But it didn’t feel like mine.I ran my fingers across the velvet duvet cover, as if the texture could distract me from the heaviness in my chest.Just a guest. The words rang

Chapter 12Michael’s POVShe walked away. She didn’t look back. And even though my wolf howled inside me, clawing to follow her, I let her go.For now.My jaw clenched as I turned to one of the maids lingering nearby, a nervous girl in her twenties who couldn’t decide whether to bow or run.“You,” I snapped. “Escort the girl to the VIP guest wing. Personally. And make sure she has everything she needs.”The maid’s eyes widened. “Y... yes, Alpha.”I turned away without another word. My father’s voice rang out before I could even take a step.“Study. Now.”Daniel didn’t wait for confirmation. He simply turned on his heel and walked down the hall, flanked by his guard. I didn’t follow immediately not because I was disobeying, but because I sensed something.I looked up.Lana.Still standing there in the hallway like a damn statue. Her arms were folded tightly under her chest, and her eyes shimmered with false tears, but the bitterness radiating off her was anything but innocent. The hall

  • SAVED BY THE RUTHLESS ALPHA; Audrey’s Second Chance   CHAPTER 11

Audrey’s POVHis arms were strong around me, grounding me, protecting me but I still felt exposed.I had barely stepped into the grandeur of the Ironclaw Pack Manor before the sharp voice of a woman I didn’t recognize sliced through the air like a blade.“Who is this trash?”The words hit harder than I expected, and for a moment, I forgot how to breathe.I turned my head slowly in the direction of the voice, unsure what I’d see.She was tall, poised, and dressed like she’d just stepped off the runway. Not a single strand of her chestnut brown hair was out of place, and her deep blue dress clung to her body in a way that screamed power and attention. Her expression, however, was anything but elegant. She was glaring at me like I had spit in her drink.Michael didn’t flinch. He didn’t even blink. But I felt the tension roll through his chest like a silent growl waiting to break free.Without saying a word, he gently set me down, careful of my injured foot. The sudden loss of his warmth
