KAELION POV

Seliora seemed to have stopped fighting this time.

In no time, I was certain she would discover why her father did what he did to my pack. Afterwards, I will then launch another attack to kill him, once and for all this time.

I had no idea what to do with Seliora afterwards, but for now, I had Lexi's burial to plan.

I hated that she had to die like this but hated the fact that she died in the pack house which was meant to be safe.

She was supposed to be under my protection.

If Seliora was right about one of my pack members being a traitor, I was ready to do whatever it took to find whoever did this to her even if it meant giving Seliora access to the library so she could get the information she needed.

“It’s time, Kaelion,” Jackson said, stepping into the office.

“She was supposed to be safe here, Jackson. I failed Lexi just as I failed every one of my pack members who was killed by Alpha Thane,” I muttered, picking up the empty bottle of wine that was lying on the table.

“This isn’t your fault, Kaelion,” Jackson responded but I was too angry.

Angry at the situation and how everything seemed to be going out of my control.

“Fuck!” I growled, smashing the empty bottle of wine against the wall.

“Easy, Kaelion,” Jackson stated, rushing towards me.

“We have to bury Lexi, the pack members are waiting. Pull yourself together.”

“I am going to find who managed to do this under my watch and shred him into pieces, Jackson,” I whispered to him, looking into his eyes.

“What do you need me to do?” He asked, nodding his head in agreement.

“Nothing, I have got all of this under control,” I muttered, finally managing to pull myself together. “Let’s go bury her.”

I hated burials so much.

Maybe it was because I had witnessed so much of it in the past few months or maybe it just reminded me again and again of all the people I had lost.

I didn’t know Lexi quite well but she was one of the few people in the pack who supported me. She never questioned my decision and was already ready to help.

As I walked outside of the house, I looked down on her body which had been wrapped in a white piece of cloth and placed in a coffin.

“Take her into the car,” I demanded, making my way towards the car.

The pack guards followed my instructions and after they were done, I got into the car with Jackson while some of the pack members also got into the bus.

“Drive!” I demanded.

The journey to the pack cemetery which was thirty minutes away reminded me of the day Misha was buried.

The journey to the cemetery felt like the longest journey of my life. I felt nothing but emptiness and only looked out of the window while imagining how good it was going to feel to avenge her death.

“Are you okay?” Jackson asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. “You seem lost.”

“I’m good, man,” I whispered.

A few minutes later, the car came to a halt and I stepped out of the car with Jackson by my side. Lexi’s coffin was taken out and carried towards the ground which been dug while Jackson and I followed behind them.

“Are you sure you don’t want me to do anything about this, Kaelion?” Jackson asked in a low tone. “This is a big deal, a member of our pack was killed in our own home.”

“I know it is. All I need you to do is stop this news from spreading. No one must hear about this,” I stated.

“It’s time,” One of the pack members stated as Lexi's coffin got placed down.

“We are here today to bury one of our own, Lexi,” I stated with a straight face. “She was a loyal pack member, a friend and so much more. She would be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts.”

Afterwards, a few more pack members spoke about Lexi while I looked on anxiously.

I hated being here. It was the same place Misha was buried.

About thirty minutes later, Lexi’s coffin was lowered into the ground and sealed.

I instantly turned back towards the car and entered with Jackson.

“Drive now!” I demanded.

As the driver drove off, my mind flashed back again to how I had made a promise to Misha's grave to not come to see her until I killed whoever did this to her.

“You know what, I do need you to do something for me, Jackson,” I muttered, looking sideways at him. “Since Alpha Thane has not come to get his daughter as expected, I need you to find out where he has been hiding.”

“Okay,” Jackson replied.

The journey back to the pack house was a silent one. A million things ran through my head as the gentle breeze touched my face.

Not only was the only person I wanted to kill so badly still out there, but there was a traitor in my pack.

A traitor who must have been in the pack for so long.

“Who do you think killed Lexi?” I asked, breaking the silence in the car while looking sideways at Jackson who had been quiet.

“I would say Seliora,” He answered. “She might have killed her out of anger just like she attacked you on the day of the pack regale with a knife.”

Jackson must have figured Seliora attacked me out on his own since I still haven't told him about what Seliora did.

“She did not. Lexi told me she didn’t do it right before she died,” I muttered.

“Why did you lie to me on the pack regale day about her not attacking you, Kaelion?” Jackson asked while I stared at him blankly.

I possibly could not tell him I felt a little soft spot for the daughter of our enemy.

No pack, no resources, only a house burnt to the ground.Kaelion had all the resources I had to look for my father. There was no way I was going to allow him to send me back to nothing. Not right now.Seeing him kiss Claire didn't come as a surprise. It only made me see the reality of things.I was so stupid to develop feelings for him. We will only ever remain enemies, nothing more.As I continued to make my way into my room, I ran into Claire who had a huge smile

KAELION POVThere had to be another way. There was no way I was going to get married to Claire, the cousin of my dead mate.“I will find a way to get this pack together, I am not picking a Luna until I am ready to,” I stated firmly, standing up and walking out.I could hear Jackson calling out to me as I made my way to the car but I continued to walk.I was too angry.“You have to give this some thought, Kaelion,” Jackson said, catching up to me. “You know Claire’s parent come from the lineage of one of the most powerful Alphas this pack has ever had, this alliance could be good for you.”“No, Jackson. I am not doing this,” I muttered, opening the door to the car.“How do you intend to fix the problems in the pack then? Most of the pack members are beginning to lose their trust in you,” Jackson said.“Is there really no other way than to do this?” I asked. “You could have proved to them that you still remembered their loss by bringing Alpha Thane’s head to them,” Jackson responded.“

KAELION POVMaybe it was time to let this go.To let go of finding out why Misha was killed. “You have to attend the council meeting by ten, go get some more rest,” Jackson said, before finally walking away.Since Misha died, I have not been a good Alpha to my pack. All I had been consumed in was wiping out the Ember fang pack and finding out why Alpha Thane killed Misha. On the day of the attack, I had planned to ask Alpha Thane before killing him. I had no idea he was not going to be home. After so many months I spent preparing for an attack on his pack, it made me so mad that I missed out on a single small detail like that.“I forgot about the meeting,” I muttered to myself, walking into the room.Spending time with Seliora had started to distract me. Jackson was right, I needed to make a quick decision about what to do with her.It was seven O’clock in the morning. I still had about three hours till the meeting.I sat down on my office chair and stared out of the window blankly.

  • SELIORA'S REVENGE; HER COMEBACK   chapter 62

KAELION POVSomething had changed. Her body language, her tone, and the way she could not look me straight in the eyes. It was all so obvious. The last time I saw her this way was when I took her brother Thlaric captive and had her surrender to me.“Wait up,” I said, watching her walk into the woods but she kept walking without looking back. “You are going the wrong way.”This made her stop and look back at me.“I know you hate me for what I did to your pack, but I am only asking that we work together without fighting,” I stated. “It is only until you go back to your family.”“Fine,” She responded. “I have rules too.”“I am all ears,” I said, moving closer to her.“You let me keep the stone for my safety until we are done,” She said. “Two, you do not question me, we do this way.”“Okay,” I answered. Her plans seemed to have worked so far, It would not hurt to give her a chance.“It's this way,” I muttered going the opposite way from where she was earlier headed. “The other way leads t

SELIORA POVThis side of Kaelion was soft and completely different. It always made me question whether he was the same person I saw in the ballroom on the day he attacked my pack.“I should get some sleep,” I muttered, turning towards the other side, away from him.The only thing that mattered to me was getting my father out of wherever he was and going back to my mother and Thlaric.I closed my eyes but I found it hard to sleep. All I could hear only the sound of the rain pattering against the roof. After a few more minutes of just lying down, I decided to get up and go sit outside for a while. I slowly removed the blanket over my body so as not to alert Kaelion and stood from the bed.“Where are you going?” Kaelion asked, startling me.I assumed he would already be asleep.“I need some air, I am going to sit outside for a while,” I responded, looking back at him. “I am coming with you,” He stated, standing up and picking up the blanket. “You should not be alone out there.”He wal

All that I could get the answers I so desperately wanted were gone.Kaelion was crashing out and instructing all the guards to make sure to find Zack and bring him back to the pack while I just stared at him in silence. After getting tired of listening to Kaelion instruct his guards, I walked out of the hospital and went into my room.I then locked the door and walked over the window. I opened it up and smiled at the moon which was now at its peak.Changing into my wolf form was the only way I could release the tension of the night.I soon felt my claws emerging and my senses heightened, just seconds later, I had turned.I let out a howl then launched myself out of the window.
