SELIORA POV

The loud sound of the pack gate opening made me jump out of bed.

It meant Kaelion was back from the burial ceremony, so we could go into his library.

I had no idea what I was searching for especially since he was going to be there with me. I only needed anything that could help me.

Maybe a place where he stores the pack weapons or a drawing of the house plan which would help me escape after I succeed with my plans or just something which I could use to finally take my revenge on him once I prove my father’s innocence.

“It won’t be long now,” I said to myself, feeling elated.

I would finally be free from this hellhole and go back to my family.

After a while of pacing around my room impatiently, I finally heard a knock on my door.

“Coming,” I muttered, comporting myself.

I needed to keep the sad face up to keep convincing Kaelion I was done fighting.

As I opened up the door, I thought about how foolish he might be to think I was going to let him get away with murdering my whole pack and just give up.

“We should go before it’s dinner time,” He said as I walked out of the room.

Afterwards, I slowly walked behind him.

“We are here,” He muttered as we reached the end of the hallway.

He then proceeded to open up the door but right before he could, Claire called out his name.

“That bitch just cannot stay away from him for a moment,” I thought to myself.

She hurried towards him with a smile and handed him a present while I looked the other way.

“I know today might have been the best day for you but it’s still your birthday, Happy Birthday,” She whispered to him, kissing him on the cheek before walking away.

I watched as Kaelion stared blankly at the gift before finally opening the door.

“Oh,” I exclaimed, stepping into the library.

It was much bigger than I had thought and how ancient it looked surprised me. I could tell the books have been here for more than one decade.

“You should get to work,” He stated, locking the door.

Looking around, I wondered where to even start since I had no idea what exactly I was searching for.

“Here,” He said, walking towards one of the shelves. “These books contain all the werewolf lineage and the marks that could help in identifying them.”

“All these?” I asked, scanning through the piles of old books. “This could take me all night and I still would not be able to find it.”

“Well, you had better get to work then,” He responded, pulling out two chairs and sitting on one of them.

Taking a deep breath, I picked out one of the books while wondering how I was going to escape Kaelion to get what I needed.

“Today is your birthday,” I muttered, hoping to distract him with small talk.

“Get to work, Seliora,” He simply replied coldly.

As I made my way towards him with one of the old books in my hands, I this was going to more harder than I thought.

“You should pick one too,” I muttered, sitting down.

He stared blankly at me for a while but eventually stood up and walked towards the shelf while I opened up the book.

I instantly started to check through it while occasionally peeping at Kaelion who had also started to go through one of the books.

After about an hour I finished looking through the book but there was no trace of the symbol.

Without hesitation, I returned the book to the shelf and picked up another.

After about four hours, I had gone through about four books yet there was nothing in there.

“Time’s up, we will continue this tomorrow,” Kaelion who had been quiet stated.

“No, we can not leave without finding out what it means,” I replied watching him walk towards the door.

“It's an hour to midnight, we will continue this tomorrow,” He demanded in a harsh tone, looking back at me.

“Damn it,” I exclaimed in a low tone.

If this was how it was going to be until we find the meaning of the symbols in the books, I might never have my chance to search through the library.

“Fine!” I muttered, standing up but as I walked towards the door, I noticed he kept struggling to open it up.

“Why isn't it opening?” I asked, noticing how furious he looked.

“Because it's jammed, Seliora,” He yelled, kicking his legs against the door in anger.

“You have your phone with you, right? You can call for help,” I said, seeing how worked up he was.

He instantly brought out his cell phone as I suggested but after staring at it for some seconds, he smashed it on the ground angrily while I looked on in shock.

“There’s no service in this damn room!” He yelled, proceeding to forcefully try to open the door.

I could tell there was something wrong with him, there was no way the door locking from behind would get him so worked up.

“Hey,” I muttered, noticing he was breathing heavily. “Someone is going to notice by tomorrow and come get us out.”

“I am not staying here till tomorrow with you in here,” He replied, hurrying inside the Library while I followed behind him.

My eyes scanned through the shelves and my heart skipped a bit right after I saw an inscription on one of the shelves which read “building structure”.

“This is it,” I muttered, stopping Kaelion struggled to open the windows.

After a while he stopped and continued to breathe heavily, distracting me.

“What is it?” I asked in a low tone gently making my way towards him.

“I..am..terrified..of..enclosed..spaces,” He stuttered, while I stared at him in disbelief.

I would never have been able to guess the Almighty Alpha Kaelion was claustrophobic.

KAELION POVSomething had changed. Her body language, her tone, and the way she could not look me straight in the eyes. It was all so obvious. The last time I saw her this way was when I took her brother Thlaric captive and had her surrender to me.“Wait up,” I said, watching her walk into the woods but she kept walking without looking back. “You are going the wrong way.”This made her stop and look back at me.“I know you hate me for what I did to your pack, but I am only asking that we work together without fighting,” I stated. “It is only until you go back to your family.”“Fine,” She responded. “I have rules too.”“I am all ears,” I said, moving closer to her.“You let me keep the stone for my safety until we are done,” She said. “Two, you do not question me, we do this way.”“Okay,” I answered. Her plans seemed to have worked so far, It would not hurt to give her a chance.“It's this way,” I muttered going the opposite way from where she was earlier headed. “The other way leads t

SELIORA POVThis side of Kaelion was soft and completely different. It always made me question whether he was the same person I saw in the ballroom on the day he attacked my pack.“I should get some sleep,” I muttered, turning towards the other side, away from him.The only thing that mattered to me was getting my father out of wherever he was and going back to my mother and Thlaric.I closed my eyes but I found it hard to sleep. All I could hear only the sound of the rain pattering against the roof. After a few more minutes of just lying down, I decided to get up and go sit outside for a while. I slowly removed the blanket over my body so as not to alert Kaelion and stood from the bed.“Where are you going?” Kaelion asked, startling me.I assumed he would already be asleep.“I need some air, I am going to sit outside for a while,” I responded, looking back at him. “I am coming with you,” He stated, standing up and picking up the blanket. “You should not be alone out there.”He wal
