Chapter 25

SELIORA POV

Eager to see what Xavier got, I rushed into the room carefully, trying to avoid the guards.

After successfully doing so, I entered quickly and locked the door before emptying the contents of the bag.

“Wow,” I muttered, looking through the things.

Xavier delivered more than I had expected. The gown was a long straight red shaped dress while the heels were black. He also got me all the basic makeup products I needed including a mirror and a purse which I forgot to ask for.

Feeling excited, I packed up all the things and hid them under the bed.

I could not let anything interfere with what I was about to do.

I then lay down on the bed and closed my eyes. I thought through my plan one more time before drifting off to sleep.

“Miss Seliora,” A voice called out, waking me up from my sleep.

I slowly closed my eyes and jumped out of bed once I realised it was morning.

“Coming,” I muttered, checking whether the bag was well hidden before opening up the door.

“Here,” The maid stated, handing a tray filled with so much food. “You have all you need to eat for today.”

“What time does the party start?” I asked, taking the large tray from her.

“Noon,” She responded, walking out while I placed the tray of food on the bed.

I began to open up some of the plates when I heard the sound of the door lock rattling from outside.

I instantly rushed towards the door and tried to open it up but realised, I was trapped in.

“What are you doing?” I yelled, banging on the door.

“The Alpha instructed us to lock you in until this evening,” A masculine voice which I assumed would be one of the guards said.

“Kaelion,” I muttered, clenching my fist.

He was always one step ahead, he must have somehow sensed I was planning something.

“You are wrong, Kaelion. Nothing will stop me from attending this event,” I stated, rushing towards the window.

I opened it up but it was too small, my head would barely fit inside it.

“Fuck!” I exclaimed, looking around the room.

There was no other way I could get out, it was either the door or the window.

Out of frustration, I kicked open the door of the bathroom with my right foot. The door swung open and it gave me an idea.

I could jump out of the bathroom window instead.

I walked into the bathroom and peeped through the window. It made me even happier to see that the window was going to lead me right opposite the staff quarters.

I then walked out with a smile and ate some of the food the maids had earlier brought. I needed all the strength I could get if I was going to do this.

Afterwards, I took a bath and waited patiently for an hour before starting to get ready.

I started by slicking my hair in a ponytail since I had no styling tools then did my brows afterwards.

The makeup came together more than I expected. The foundation and all of the things Xavier packed into the bag were exactly in my shade.

“He might be the only member of the Obsidian pack I spare,” I muttered, applying the red lipstick and the setting spray on my face.

I learnt to do makeup back at my pack by watching videos but had to stop because of my duties to my pack.

After I was done, I put on the dress which fitted perfectly and stared at myself in the small mirror.

“Go out and show them what you are made of Seliora,” I stated, picking up my shoes.

I could not wear them yet since I still needed to jump out of the window.

I also picked up the purse and walked into the bathroom. I peeped out again and could see the party was almost starting.

Most of the guests were arriving.

I quietly opened up the window then threw my shoes and purse on the ground.

Taking one last look around, I stuck my head in and jumped out of the window. No one seemed to notice since the guards were busy watching the guest.

I swiftly bent down to pick up my shoes before quietly making my way into the staff quarters.

“Hello ma’am,” A voice spoke behind me, startling me. “The event is taking place in the building, you should not be here.”

“I need to see one of the maids,” I responded in a tiny voice, rushing off before she could see my face.

As I walked, I noticed some of the maids failed to recognise me.

Seeing that most of them had no idea it was me, I navigated the staff's quarters slowly so as not to raise suspicions.

A few minutes later, I found a door that led me right into a big kitchen.

“You should not be back here ma’am, the pack regale is starting in just one minute,” One of the chefs stated as I walked in.

“I lost my way,” I muttered, hurrying towards the kitchen door.

I then opened it up and it led me exactly into the pack house living room where the event was taking place.

“Wow,” I exclaimed, seeing how well the house had been decorated. I almost could not recognise that I had stayed in there for some days.

The house was filled with guests who looked gorgeous, and the party was much more of a big deal than I had expected.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” I heard a voice say. “You are all welcome to this year’s pack regale, please put your hands together for Alpha Kaelion.”

I watched as Kaelion walked towards the guest slowly dressed in a brown suit with a black tie.

For a moment, our eyes met, his eyes piercing into my soul. I could feel my blood boiling yet could not deny the pull and attraction I felt towards him.

“Champagne?” One of the maids inquired.

“I could use a drink,” I muttered, picking up a glass from the tray before walking away.
