Chapter 26

KAELION POV

I could not believe my eyes.

Seliora was here. At the pack regale. Her dress, shoes, and how elegant she looked, it was all so shocking.

In the twinkle of an eye, she was nowhere to be found; it was almost as if she had disappeared.

“Seliora is here, Jackson. How is that possible?” I whispered, looking towards him.

“The guard confirmed they locked her in the room. Are you sure it was her you saw?” Jackson asked but I knew I was right.

I would recognise Seliora in seconds in a room filled with people.

“I know what I saw, Jackson. Find her and make sure you get her out of here before she does anything she has planned out,” I whispered again, trying not to attract attention.

“You have to give a speech Alpha Kaelion,” Chris, one of the pack members who was in charge of the day’s activities stated handing me the microphone.

“Good afternoon members of Obsidian Pack,” I stated firmly watching Jackson walk away while my eyes scanned the room for Seliora. “I welcome you all once again. As you all already know, this event takes place every year in respect to our ancestors. The activities we have planned this year are surely going to blow your minds.”

“Thank you, Alpha,” Chris stated, taking the microphone from me while the pack members erupted into cheers.

“I need to leave for a minute,” I whispered to Chris before walking away.

As I hurried towards the kitchen entrance where I had earlier sighted Seliora, I ran into Jackson.

“She is nowhere to be found, I searched everywhere,” He stated.

“This cannot be good,” I muttered, clenching my fist in anger.

Despite all I had done to get Seliora to follow my rules, it was just not enough. She was still hell bent on defying me.

“Great party, Jackson. I had no doubt you were going to pull it off,” I muttered, looking around. “Right now I need you to go to the guest and keep everyone company, I am going to find Seliora.”

Jackson nodded his head in agreement while I took off. I started by searching again through the crowd to find Seliora but she was still nowhere to be found.

As I continued to look, I recalled how I clearly instructed the guards to lock her in the room and stay right in front to make sure she did not come out of her room.

“One simple task,” I muttered angrily when my eyes caught Seliora across the room.

I instantly started to make my way towards her but stopped after realising where she was going.

“What the hell are you doing, Seliora?” I said to myself, watching her climb the stage.

“It's her,” Jackson spoke from behind me. “The guards checked her room, and she escaped through the bathroom window.”

“Good evening ladies and gentlemen,” Seliora said, with a smile walking towards Chris before forcefully grabbing the microphone from him. “Allow me to introduce myself.”

“Shouldn’t we stop her?” Jackson asked.

“It's a little too late for that. It would only cause a bigger scene,” I replied to him, staring at Seliora.

I could not particularly explain what I felt at the moment. On one hand, I felt so much anger to see her up on the stage but I could not help but stare at her red dress which fitted her perfectly, and her ocean green eyes which one could easily get lost in.

“My name is Seliora, the daughter of Alpha Thane,” Seliora said. “As you all already know, your Alpha took me captive and has refused to let me go. He claims my father ravaged your pack and killed his mate but it's all a lie.”

“How dare you speak of our Alpha in that manner?” One of the guests yelled.

“Your Alpha is a murderer who impulsively killed a whole pack because of his dead mate,” Seliora replied angrily while I clenched my fist.

I just could not take it anymore.

“Stop this nonsense,” I demanded in a loud voice making my way towards her. “You must be drunk.”

All the pack members looked so furious and even though I was equally as angry as they, I could not harm her or let them harm her.

“I am in my right senses, Kaelion. You had your men lock me in the room so you didn't have to show my face to them all but here I am,” She uttered, making the situation worse than it already was.

Most of the pack members' claws started to emerge but Seliora didn't look fazed.

“Remember how you rejected me well? Well, I, Seliora also reject you Kaelion as my mate,” She added, walking towards me and then pouring her drink all over my outfit.

“Consider this a payback,” She whispered to me while some of the pack members growled and charged towards her.

“Leave her!” I instructed, in a loud tone before grabbing her arms and dragging her out of the party with me.

She kept trying to break free from my grip but I didn't let go of her until we both entered my room.

“Are you going to kill me this time or throw me into the cell again?” She asked as I shoved her onto the bed in my room.

“You humiliated me publicly in front of my pack members, Seliora,” I exclaimed, trying to contain my anger. “This defiance will get you nowhere, it’s only going to get you killed.”

“You have already killed me, Kaelion. You killed me the minute you wiped out my pack and left me with nothing. So please, kill me completely and end this torment,” She yelled, standing up and walking over to me.

“I did what I had to do for my pack. Your father started this,” I muttered, seeing how angry she was.

For the first time since I wiped out her pack, I felt guilty to see her this way.

“I also have to do this for my dead pack members,” Seliora stated, pulling out a sharp knife from

her purse.

“What are you trying to do?” I asked, wondering what was going on in her head.

“Kill you,” She responded, charging towards me with the knife.
