SELIORA POV

“Someone is here,” I whispered into Kaelion’s ear before slowly peeping into the hospital room.

It was Rex.

He was in the hospital room to finish what he started just like I had predicted.

I could feel Kaelion’s heartbeat race as he leaned towards me and watched Rex make his way slowly towards Zack who was lying unconscious on the hospital bed.

I could also feel his anger rising but this was not the time to act. I needed to see if there was anything Rex could do that which give me some clues about why he was doing this.

“Stop!” Kaelion growled, rushing out of where we hid as Rex pulled a knife out of his shirt.

He immediately gripped Rex’s hand while I watched the scene quietly.

“I trusted you, Rex. Why would you betray the pack like this?” Kaelion asked, his voice a bit calmer this time.

Rex didn’t look remorseful about what he had done. He only continued to struggle to release the knife in his hands.

“Why!” Kaelion barked, finally taking the knife from him and swinging it out of the open hospital window.

Rex’s eyes widened. “You really want to know why? It’s because you do not deserve to be the Alpha of this pack. I deserve to be the Alpha not you!”

“No Rex. Tell us the reason you killed Lexi and tried to kill Zack. I know you did it to hide them from telling something important,” I cut in.

“You are helping him,” Rex said, mockingly. “I really thought you were going to kill him so I didn’t have to.”

I could see the look on Kaelion’s face. His anger was rising and so was his heartbeat.

It was easy to tell this was going to end in a fight between him and Rex.

“He’s trying to provoke you, Kaelion. You have to remain calm,” I muttered, taking a step closer to where Rex was standing.

“What did he promise you?” I asked. “The one who is making you betray your pack like this.”

“You must really think you belong here, Seliora,” He answered. “You are nothing but a failed wannabe Alpha of a pack who has been wiped out.”

I knew exactly what Rex was doing, he was trying to distract me. The way his eyes looked between the door and the window told me all I needed to know, he wanted to run.

“He promised to make you the Alpha didn’t he?” I asked, watching the expression on his face go blank.

I was right.

There was someone he was doing all this for. But who?

If my father was truly the one behind the attack on the obsidian pack and was responsible for the death of Kaelion’s mate. Why would someone make Rex do all this just to cover up for him?

“Did Alpha Thane make you do this?” Kaelion who has been quiet asked.

“You are going nowhere until you talk, Rex,” I muttered, instantly locking the door and closing the windows with full speed.

Tonight was the night. I was not going to let anything stop me from finding out what was really going on. I had been in the dark for too long.

“Tell me why you did all of it and maybe I might just pardon you,” Kaelion demanded.

“Pardon me? That’s not going to happen,” Rex muttered, laughing hysterically while dipping his hands into his pocket.

“The kysnite stone,” Kaelion muttered, taking a step backwards from where I stood.

“I know you have been looking for this, Seliora. This is your chance to kill him,” Rex stated, squeezing the stone in his fingers while Kaelion groaned in pain. “I will give it to you but you have to let me go.”

“How is the stone not making you weak?” I asked.

“I had a witch do a protective spell on me for a day like this, the stone is going to render him defenceless in the next ten minutes. Do we have a deal for not?” Rex asked.

If Rex had offered me this deal two weeks ago, I would have gladly taken it.

“Okay,” I muttered. “You have to give it to me first.”

“No!” Rex refused.

“I am afraid I cannot help you if you do not trust me,” I stated, looking back at Kaelion whose eyes were beginning to glow.

“Fine,” He stated, stretching the stone towards me.

“One more thing,” I muttered. “Why did my father order you to kill Lexi and this man right here?”

“Your father is a pawn in this game, Seliora. There is so much more that you aren’t aware of,” He answered, finally placing the stone in my hands.

He then charged hurriedly towards the door and ran out while I looked back at Kaelion who had completely collapsed on the ground.

“You are helping him escape,” He mumbled, in a weak voice.

“No, I am not,” I answered, hurrying towards the window and opening it up. “Hurry up and get him, I am going to get the stone as far away from you as possible.”

Afterwards, I jumped out of the window and watched as Rex walked past the guards.

“Come on, Kaelion,” I muttered, walking away from the hospital while still fixing my eyes on Rex who was getting away.

Rex continued to walk towards the gate while I watched anxiously.

He then spoke to the guards at the door who started to unlock the gate of the pack house for him to get outside.

“Don’t let him go!” Kaelion yelled in a loud voice just as the guards were about to open the gate.

Seeing that Kaelion was approaching him, Rex pushed the guards off the gate and started to open the door by himself.

“Fuck!” I muttered, watching him remove the locks.

He was getting away while I could not do anything.

The last chance I had to find out what the big conspiracy he was talking about was gone.

  • SELIORA'S REVENGE; HER COMEBACK   chapter 57

SELIORA POVI was completely sure of this. After Jackson had earlier announced Zack had been attacked, I was certain it must have been one of the guards.Back at my pack, there was a way I was able to determine whether a person was telling the truth or lying by listening to the sound of their heartbeats.I did the same to the guards as Jackson interrogated them about the incident. They all had slow and steady heartbeats which told me all I needed to know, they were speaking the truth. This then made me conclude the traitor was a person of a higher rank in the pack. This narrowed my options and left me with two options. Jackson and the head of the pack of soldiers, Rex.Asking Kaelion to call out all of the pack members was a way for me to search Rex’s room. The search was difficult, I had to unlock his room and hurry because he could be back in any minute. For the first two minutes, I kept searching but found nothing that could prove him guilty. Afterwards, I tried to make my way out.

KAELION POVI had nothing to do with what happened to Alpha Thane and since I would really love to explain to Seliora, I had bigger things to worry about.Jackson looked really worried.“The prisoner from the blood moon pack was attacked and almost killed in his cell,” Jackson stated. “I think this might be the same person who attacked Lexi.”“What!” I exclaimed, angrily.Enough was enough.Today was the day I was going to find whoever was doing this. The traitor in the pack had to die today.“How is he?” I asked, storming out of the office angrily with Jackson. “How did the person who did this pass through the guards without being caught?”“He is in the pack hospital. All the guards on duty have been tied down. They all claimed not to know what happened,” Jackson answered. “Whoever did this is not an ordinary pack member, he is someone who nobody would have suspected,” Seliora spoke behind me.“Gather all the pack members, Jackson,” I demanded, as we walked out of the house.Zack co

SELIORA POV“Seliora,” I heard, Kaelion call out to me while my head continued to spin. “Take deep breaths.”“I..do..not..think.. I..can,” I stuttered, running my hands through my hair.I was having an anxiety attack. The last time I had one was when my sister died years ago.“You are all right,” Kaelion said pulling me into a tight embrace while I just remained there. After a few minutes, I managed to calm down.“You good now?” He asked, breaking the hug.“Yes,” I replied, walking over to the phone which was still on the table.“Why..Father?” I asked, as my hands trembled. He has broken my trust in him. Not only that, I wondered if he was ever going to tell me the truth that Kaelion didn't threaten to kill me.He lied without hesitation.“Forgive me, Seliora. I will make sure to come get you,” He replied.“I said Why?” I yelled, picking up the phone. “You did this to our pack, you ruined everything. I defended you with all I had in me.”“It’s complicated, Seliora. I had to do it bec

SELIORA POVI was sure either Kaelion or Jackson was behind this.“I haven’t been here to see him since we arrived back here yesterday,” Kaelion answered with a straight face.“You have to be lying! Why are you doing this?” I barked, facing Zack again before rushing out of the pack cell. There was no way I was going to wait for one more second and listen to more lies about my father.I could hear Kaelion calling out to me as I walked away but I was too upset. I had been looking forward to this day, for the chance to finally clear my father’s name only to be lied to instead.“You have to finally face the truth, Seliora. It's not going to change just because you refuse to believe it!” Kaelion stated, further fueling my anger.“It's all a lie, he is clearly lying and so are you!”I yelled, looking back at him. “You would do anything to make this lie about my father true. He clearly denied knowing my father yesterday. What changed?”“He was not telling the truth, Seliora,” He answered. “No

SELIORA POVI couldn't explain how I felt about the hug, but I could also not deny that it felt good.I could have instantly pushed Kaelion away the minute he pulled me in yet I stood there. I let him hug me after everything. After Jackson took me back to the pack house, I was thrown into the cell. A few hours later, the pack guards dragged me out and made me stand where everyone could see me.Not only was I angry, but I was mad at myself for not thinking.I had the perfect opportunity. I could have gotten the Kysnite and driven Kaelion and the Blood Moon Pack member to my father’s house, but I didn't.Instead, I decided to save the man who was responsible for all the pain I had to go through.“What the hell is wrong with you, Seliora?” I asked myself, walking over to the bed while running my hands through my hair.Back at my pack, I used to make sure I did the right thing. I was calculative, I did everything at the right time but each time Kaelion and I were together, I felt differe
