THIRD PERSON:

Sera was gasping for breath and nearly breathless from rushing as she hurried toward St. Catherine Medical Center. She no longer cared about her exhaustion or the pain in her legs. All that mattered to her was getting to the hospital as quickly as possible.

She clutched her bag tightly as she continued running. Her heart nearly leaped with anxiety and worry with every passing second.

When she reached the hospital entrance, she stopped for a moment to catch her breath. Her chest rose and fell rapidly as she wiped the beads of sweat from her forehead.

But even though she could barely breathe, she hurriedly ran inside the hospital again, desperate to see how Liam was doing.

When she reached the Emergency Room, she immediately looked for Alex.

She saw her sitting outside the ER with her head bowed.

"Alex...!"

Sera's voice was barely audible.

She immediately approached her friend.

"W-Where's Liam?"

Alex weakly pointed toward the Emergency Room door.

"He's still inside. He's with Dr. Gabriel."

It felt as though all the strength had suddenly left Sera. She no longer knew how to face the fear that was slowly tightening around her chest. All that mattered to her was that Liam would be saved.

She clasped her hands tightly together as she sat with her head bowed in the chair outside the Emergency Room. Her heart felt like it might break from worry with every passing minute.

As her tears finally began to fall, she closed her eyes and desperately fought against the fear consuming her thoughts. Her chest rose and fell rapidly as she tried to hold back her sobs.

But even though she felt as if her hope was slowly slipping away, she continued to pray. Desperate, she begged for a miracle for her brother, the only family she had left.

Sera clasped her hands tightly as her tears continued to stream down her face. She struggled to breathe through her intense crying and sobbing. She could barely form each word properly because of the tightness in her throat.

"De-ar Lord..."

She gasped and squeezed her eyes shut.

"P-Please don't take my brother away..."

"He's... he's the only family I have left..."

She let out a loud sob as her shoulders trembled.

"L-Let it be me instead..."

"Make me the one who suffers..."

"J-Just please, not my brother..."

She finally lowered her head and broke down sobbing.

"Please, Lord..."

"Please don't take him away from me..."

"I don't think I could bear losing him..."

Alex could only watch her best friend cry silently.

She had lost count of how many times she had seen the young woman in that state. Her body was always exhausted from working nonstop from dawn until midnight. She was always sleep-deprived. She always cried whenever there was no one else around to see her.

But whenever Liam was in front of her, she immediately hid all her pain and exhaustion. She forced herself to smile. She forced herself to stay strong. She forced herself to show that she could still handle everything, even though she was slowly running out of strength.

As Sera's best friend, Alex could not help but feel deeply sorry for her. She knew that Sera had already made countless sacrifices for her brother. Yet despite all the hardships she had endured, she continued to fight and refused to give up, willing to do anything to give Liam a chance to live and have a better future.

Alex's heart was slowly breaking. Every day, she witnessed how life was gradually draining the young woman before her. There was nothing she could do but watch Sera desperately fight for her brother while slowly losing herself in the process.

She quietly walked over and gently sat beside Sera. She did not speak right away. Instead, she slowly wrapped her arms around Sera's trembling shoulders. She could feel Sera's rapid breathing and the desperate way she was trying to keep herself from completely breaking down.

"Shhh..." she whispered softly.

"Liam will be okay..."

"Everything will be okay, too."

It was as if that was all Sera had been waiting for. She suddenly wrapped her arms tightly around Alex as the emotions she had been holding back for so long finally overwhelmed her.

"Al-Alex..."

Her voice was completely broken from crying nonstop.

"I-I'm scared now..."

"I-I don't know what to do anymore..."

"W-What if..."

Her words were cut short as her throat tightened again.

"What if I lose him?"

She completely broke down sobbing. She tightly clutched Alex's clothes as her tears continued to stream down her face. Her heart felt like it was breaking from the pain as she thought about the possibility of losing the only family she had left.

"I can't bear to see him suffering..."

Sera continued crying in her friend's arms. Meanwhile, on the other side of the Emergency Room door, eight-year-old Liam was quietly fighting the most important battle of his life.

THIRD PERSON:

Lauren entered the room and caught Damian sitting while massaging his forehead. It was obvious he was stressed and very tired from the whole day's work as a CEO. She smirked while watching the man. When Damian raised his gaze to her, Lauren let out a unique and seductive smile. Because she was only wearing a short skirt and a halter top, she easily slid down her panties and let it fall to the floor.

Damian looked at her from head to foot, and a distinct smirk appeared on his lips as a response to her seduction. While maintaining the seductive look at the man, she slowly approached him. Without hesitation, she stepped and rode to sit on his lap.

While sitting on Damian's lap, she started to move and grind. But despite their position, Lauren could still feel the man's lack of interest. Even so, the maiden still forced to heat up his sleeping desire.

"Ooohhh... Damian... ohhh!" Lauren moaned provocatively while continuing to grind. With every firm movement, she could really feel Damian's glowing readiness beneath her. But despite the man's physical reaction, his eyes remained cold and it was obvious he had deep thoughts he was trying to hide.

Because of the man's coldness and lack of emotion, Lauren gradually stopped her movement. Even before she could speak, Damian softly but firmly removed the maiden's grip and lifted her up to remove her from his lap.

"I am not in the mood. You can leave," Damian coldly said while looking straight into nothingness.

"What?!" Lauren snapped, incredulous. "Again?!" She wanted to push the argument further, but catching a glimpse of Damian's hard, unreadable expression stopped her. It was undeniable, he truly was in no mood. Frustration flared in her chest at the abrupt rejection. She snatched her designer bag off the edge of the table and stormed out, her footsteps echoing sharply as she headed for the door.

"Fine!! Mind your own life!!" Lauren snapped before shutting the door with a slam.

Damian was left sitting in his swivel chair, silently looking at the closed door.

After a while, he looked at the table.

There was the panties that Lauren accidentally left behind.

He slowly picked it up.

For a moment, he smirked bitterly, then gently shook his head.

Without hesitation, he threw that into the trash can beside his table before sitting down again and returned his attention to the documents spread out in front of him, as if nothing happened.

Quietly, he returned his attention to the documents spread on the table.

But even before he could continue what he was doing, he suddenly stopped.

A face spontaneously entered his mind.

The woman waitress.

He slightly knitted his forehead while trying to remember the name tag hanging on her uniform.

"Sera..." he softly uttered.

"Hmm..."He silently leaned back on his chair.

He could not understand why, but there seemed to be something unique about that woman. She was not the type of face that he would just simply remember, especially since every day hundreds of people are faced by him.

But Sera...

It was like there was something unexplainable that pulled his attention.

There was something familiar.

He closed his eyes for a moment before softly letting out a sigh.

He leaned back on his chair again and gently closed his eyes, but instead of disappearing from his mind, the face of that woman waitress only became clearer.

He slightly knitted his forehead.

He did not like the feeling that someone was able to disturb his mind.

THIRD PERSON: It was almost two in the morning when Sera finally made it home. She could barely feel her feet anymore from exhaustion. She slowly opened the door to their small rented room, careful not to wake her brother. The entire place was quiet. The only sound was the soft hum of their old electric fan. She slowly walked toward their small bed, barely big enough for the two siblings to share. There was Liam. He was sleeping peacefully. His face was pale, yet he still had the innocent look of an eight-year-old child who should have had nothing else to worry about except playing and dreaming. Sera sat down beside him. She did not realize that tears were slowly welling up in her eyes. She gently reached out with her trembling hand. Slowly, she caressed her brother's cheek. She closed her eyes as she felt the warmth of his skin. It felt as though an invisible hand had tightly squeezed her heart. She did not know whether it was a fever or simply the warmth of the chil

Third Person: Damian silently watched what was happening. There was still no emotion on his face. While the two women with him continued trying to pull the waitress toward their table, he remained seated, as if carefully studying the young woman's every move. He noticed her trembling hands. Her pale face. And the eyes that were on the verge of tears from fear as she desperately tried to free herself from the two women's grasp. "Please, ma'am..." "I-I'm just a waitress..." "I-I'm not an escort..." The young woman's words came out in broken fragments. She continued backing away while trying to pull her hands free. Suddenly, the scene he had witnessed that morning flashed through Damian's mind. Her... She's the woman I saw at the pedestrian crossing. The woman whose face had carried such deep exhaustion. And now... Those same eyes were still there. Tired, yet filled with determination. Just as one of the women was about to pull the waitress again... Damian slowly stood

SERA'S POV: As soon as I stepped out of the bakery, I immediately glanced at the old watch strapped around my wrist. It was exactly 10 a.m. I still had to head straight to my next job. I tightened my grip on my small bag as I hurried along the sidewalk. I couldn't afford to waste even a single minute. Another day of running without stopping. Another day of fighting. When I reached the pedestrian crossing, the traffic light changed to let pedestrians cross. I quickly stepped forward, almost out of breath from hurrying.
