Chapter Fifteen

As we left the clinic I took the lead and escorted us towards the garage elevators only to have him gently grab my hand and pull me in the opposite direction. As we made our way to the valet parking area I began to get nervous.

“You didn’t have to valet park,” I told him.

He smiled but didn’t say a word. We walked hand in hand towards valet services and I admitted to myself that it felt good holding his hand. It was a warm and secure feeling making his presence beside me feel safe. Despite him holding my hand and feeling his warmth I wondered why he was here with me now. We had not spoken or seen in each other in a month and now all of a sudden I get a lunch invite.

I glanced down at our hands entwined with one another and saw that his hands twice the size of mine swallowing mine whole.
