We ate our lunch, making conversation and enjoying each other's company. It felt like we were actually getting to know each other more. Alexa POV I glanced at the clock as I finished my last patient summary for the day. I wanted to hurry home in order to get dinner started before Bryce arrived. As I exited the elevator of my condominium I saw my front door wide open, almost as if the door had been propped open. The closer I got to the door I could hear the fate whispers of voices. Two years later... Tonight was a special night for Karsyn as she was looking forward to celebrating her birthday at some new night club. As I heard him say my name I realized that I loved hearing him say it. It sent shivers down my spine. I smiled at him as he reached over shook my outstretched hand. “You’re Jayce Adams, right,” I asked him curiously. I could hear the faint sound of the alarm clock going off as I slowly opened my eyes to see the bright sun shining in. I smiled to myself knowing that for the first time in two years I met someone and was happy about it. I nudged Karsyn who was sleeping beside me and told her that it was time we got up and started our day. She moaned and groaned in protest but eventually made her way to the bathroom. I sat on the bed crying for what felt like hours as I started recalling past memories of Bryce. Why would he call me, knowing how thing ended between us.
