I quickly headed downstairs, to the kitchen, where I was met with Marian and Soph. Kimi had gone for her training. They’d all been waiting for me and had gone to the kitchen from the living area because they thought Kane and I were about to get into an argument, according to Soph.

I guess they weren’t the only ones who thought so, because I noticed that the omegas were walking on eggshells around me when I stepped out of the room, with their heads bowed. They had no idea we fought last night, and we were in the process of giving each other some space.

“I’m hungry,” I announced with a sigh, ignoring Soph’s words, and Marian jerked to her feet, eager to give me some food.

We had our breakfast at the dining area, over a conversation about Caden and everything that had been going on in the pack in the past days.

“I went to the human market the other day, and on my way back, I heard a few wolves talking in hushed voices about wolfsbane and…” Marian paused and put her index finger
