The next morning Traci texted her that breakfast was from 7am to 9am. With their large crew it was easier to set aside a couple hours.
She went to breakfast and didn't see Traci. So, she sat at a table by herself. She did see some women who looked like they had on clothes they slept in. And some that had little clothing on. Those women gave her dirty looks. Traci walked in a few minutes later. Since it was Saturday, she wasn't working. She smiled at Jocelyn and sat down in front of her. She noticed her looking at the other women. She turned around and raised an eyebrow at them. They quickly looked away. "Don't mind them. They are just hang arounds." Traci replied. "Am I supposed to know what that means?" Jocelyn asked. "Sorry I forget. They hang around and enjoy the single men. They also can stay out back in a couple of the trailers. In exchange they have to earn their keep by cooking or cleaning." Traci explained. "Ok." She murmured. Soldier walked up. "I'm here to take you to the Tech den." "Ok I'm ready I guess." Jocelyn agreed. She got up and put her dishes in the sink. Soldier stood in the doorway waiting. Then she followed him down the hallway. Traci followed behind her. She noticed he had a nice firm ass in his cargo pants. His white shirt was stretched tight against his biceps. The man must work out. Then she chided herself for even thinking about him like that. He glanced over his shoulder just as he stopped in front of a door. Busted, he caught her staring at his body. He cheeks blushed red. He opened the door and stood aside for them to enter. Tech den was right. There were a couple of desks and all kinds of computer equipment. On another side of the room was a wall of monitors. Some stuff she had no idea what it was. "This is Data. One of our tech guys." Soldier introduced. "As of this minute Jocelyn no longer exists. Your new name is Jackie Harless. You can't contact anyone from your previous life. I know you have a mom and brother, so if you need to contact them then you'll have to come to this room and get one of us to place the call. We have equipment to block traces." Data explained. "Ok." She agreed. "Do you have any electronic equipment?" Data asked. "No, the other MC took them." She replied. "Good. In this folder you will find what you can tell people you meet. We kept it short. You've been working odd jobs until you decide on a career. You have no family except Traci here." He explained. Data handed her a folder. It had a driver’s license, social security card, and her new address. There was a paper that explained her name, jobs, and family. Data smiled then turned his attention back to his computer. They all turned and walked out of the office. Soldier shut the door. "I know it may seem drastic. But it's for your protection as well as ours." Soldier remarked. "I understand. I'm just thankful to be away from that mess. I'll do what I need to stay safe." She assured him. "Jackie. Hmmm, you do look like one. This is going to take some getting used to." Traci smiled. "You aren't kidding." Jocelyn now Jackie agreed. Traci smiled. "Well, what is next for you? Job?" "I'm not sure what to do next." Jackie replied. "Well, I think you should just lay low for a while. You're set up in the trailer, and if you need anything just let us know. The guys are checking on your ex to see if he's looking for you. We need to see what's going on with him." Soldier explained. "I'm going to head out. I've got grocery shopping to do. How about you come for dinner tomorrow?" Traci asked. "Sure, that sounds good. I'm just going to go back to the trailer." Jackie replied. "I'll walk you." Soldier replied. A week passed, and Prez requested Jackie to the tech office. Soldier escorted her there. He knocked on the door and then entered. Prez, Data, Hacker, and Jammer were all there waiting on her. "I don't want you to panic, but we have some bad news." Prez replied. "Just you saying that has me panicking. What's wrong? My mom? My brother?" Jackie asked. "Your brother was taken to the hospital. A group of guys jumped him and beat him up pretty bad. I've sent someone over to his hospital room to protect him." Prez explained. "Is he going to live? How bad is bad?" Jackie cried. "Just some bruises and a broken arm. Couple of cracked ribs too. Things that will heal, but not life threatening." Hacker replied. "My ex did it, didn't he?" Jackie demanded. "Most likely, we're checking into it." Hacker replied. "Can I please call him? My mom must be going out of her mind!" Jackie pleaded. They got her a burner phone that couldn't be tracked. She kept it brief when she talked to her mom and then her brother. Prez assured her he'd have someone watching them until they figured out how to deal with her ex. The next problem came a few days later. Her mom's house had been burnt to the ground while her mom was at the hospital with her brother. She begged them to come live with her but they refused. Her brother only had a few months of school left until he graduated. And her mom wouldn't leave him. She constantly worried about them. Her and Soldier had been talking and he would listen to her worries and give her a shoulder to cry on. "I don't know why they are being so stubborn. Don't they know I am worried sick over them?" Jackie whispered. "Hang in there, your brother graduates in six weeks. Didn't he assure you they'd move then?" Soldier asked. "He did. But six weeks seems like a long time, and anything could happen." Jackie agreed. "What can I do to help?" He asked. "Make me forget, even if for a short time? I'm so tired of worrying. It's emotionally exhausting." She replied.Allison walked quickly to her car and grabbed her phone. Not feeling like talking she sent Dallas a text that told her she was fine and just needed to process their conversation. She promised she'd explain later.Gideon, no Scribe as he reminded her, texted and called every day. He signed his texts as Scribe. He wasn't letting her forget he was different now, as was she. Their past had changed them both. She finally gave in when he requested a visit to their daughter's grave. After all she couldn't refuse him that right? That would just be cruel. So, she agreed to meet him at the cemetery. When she got there, he was already there, leaning against his motorcycle waiting for her. She parked and got out and walked over to him. These visits were always hard for her.She started walking towards her grave and he quietly followed. In her hand were some pink daisies she had gotten from the flower shop. She always made sure she brought some.Once they reached her grave she stopped. Scribe gasp
"The rumor she started about me being pregnant and leaving town so no one would know. Then she said I had an abortion and had no idea who the father was." Allison barely managed to say."Were you, and did you?" He demanded."Yes Gideon, I was pregnant with your baby. And if you think I would abort my baby, well I guess you never knew me!" She raised her voice."What happened?" He rasped.Allison sat on the bench. For this next part she needed support. It still sliced her heart wide open. Even though it had been three years now."The pregnancy was normal, no problems. I went to the doctor regularly. When I hit my eighth month, I didn't feel her move. Panicked I went to the ER, and they ran tests and did an ultrasound. She had died. The umbilical cord had wrapped around her neck and she was gone." Allison choked out through her tears."Oh Ally, I'm so sorry." He whispered."Do you know how hard it is to have to give birth to your baby that died? Part of you still has hope the doctors ar
The girls quickly finished up eating and left. They didn't say anything, but each knew the other's thoughts. They said bye and each got in their own car and left.Seeing Gideon had hurt worse than she had expected. It brought back all the old memories and devastation she had went through as if it were just yesterday. Allison was able to keep the tears at bay, until she was in her shower. After a long hot shower she got dressed and decided to take a nap until dinner. The cry had exhausted her. The two hour nap made her feel better. Now to figure out how to avoid him as out of sight out of mind right?Wrong, so wrong. Every time she had to go to town he was there. He kept trying to get her to talk to him. She kept ignoring him. After two weeks he was starting to wear her down. She was about to give in and let him have his talk. Then maybe he'd leave her alone."Ally the least you can do is tell me why you never responded to my voicemails or calls." Gideon replied."You can't respond to
Allison and Gideon aka Scribe were high school sweethearts. Scribe joined the army and Allison was going to college to be a lawyer. They agreed to do the long distance relationship, but as most, it didn't work out.Allison changed colleges to one that was ten hours away. She finished her four year degree, but her dad's health started to decline, and instead of going to law school changed to a business degree to help her dad.She just finished up all her classes and after a little over four years moved back home. Her dad was having trouble keeping up with the paperwork at their farm, and he had to hire more people to help him which meant funds were tighter. Her goal was to get a job in a law office, and then spend her evenings and weekends helping her dad. She was even moving back onto the farm, in her old room. Her mom passed away when she was 17. Her best friend Dallas and Gideon had helped her through her death. She knew it would happen sooner or later that she'd run into Gideon. Ev
They finally arrived in Addie's hometown. All her family met them at the apartment to help them get moved in. Edge refused to let her move off the couch. Only thing he'd let her do was give orders of what went where. The next day, Edge went to the Pawn shop to start his training with Preacher. He actually found the work interesting. He loved looking up history on some of the pawn items. He watched Preacher haggle prices with people wanting to pawn stuff. It was slower pace than the bar, but truly he had been burnt out from the bar for a while. He really had never felt truly home or family with the Knight's MC. He'd always have their back and they'd have his, but he just felt something was missing.A month went by, and Addie would join him at the Pawn shop most days and Edge would only let her sit behind the counter or in the office. He loved having her around. He had to assure her many times that he was not sick of having her around day and night. There was a meeting at the clubhouse
Prez sighed. "I understand your frustration and anger at the situation. You have my word we will handle it. I've had some rooms made ready for you and your family. I'll have one of the brothers to show you where they are as I'm sure you want to get back to the hospital to see your daughter."Levi stood and nodded. Edge walked back into the room. He nodded to Prez and Levi. The others left the room understanding Edge needed to talk to them privately."I should have paid more attention and realized Addie had something bothering her. I take full responsibility for that. I love Addie with everything that I am. She's my forever. I love her enough to do what's right for her. I realized today that she's unhappy here. Her happiness means everything to me." Edge explained."What are you saying?" Prez asked."Her going back home is what's best for her. And I want to go with her. I don't want to be without her, and I want to raise our baby together. So I'm asking if I can leave the club. And I'm
