“It's not good enough. What is this? How could things be this way?" Chadler Donovan lost it and scolded Vincent Cox, a senior member of the IT team. It is Vincent's job to keep the servers that Horus Tech Corporation, a business that provides security systems, in good shape.
"Yes, sir. I checked. There is no break at all; server three should be fine.” Vincent tried to show that it was wrong by arguing.
Chad got more angry instead of taking it. He didn't think twice about scolding Vincent while he was sitting at his desk in the middle of the room, with only a partially see-through fiber wall between them.
"You think your job is for kids? Don't work here if you can't be thorough!" Chad yelled again. Vincent could only have a low gaze. There is one mistake. While the process was going on, he went out for lunch for a short time. It turned out there was a hole that Vincent hadn't fixed, which let data slip through and made customers angry.
"I'm going to try,"
"No need. You're just wasting my time!" Chad cut in cruelly. He didn't even care if everyone was watching him scold Vincent.
“Sir, please. I can fix everything," Vincent asked pitifully in front of Chad Donovan, which would cost him his job.
“I don't care what you want. You won’t be able to recoup Horus’ losses this time because of customer complaints!” Chad pointed at Vincent. Vincent started to gasp, and he looked around.
Vincent let out a gasp and looked around. Vincent said, "I'll fix it," again, hoping to save his job.
"I don't care. Don't expect any company to accept you!” Chad's threat made Vincent's eyes widen. Now he will definitely be fired.
Some people started laughing at him. Vincent is indeed a geeky guy who has only worked for six months after being unemployed for years after graduating from college. From one corner, Heather Meadow also looked at him with a disappointed look.
"Get your things together now. You are fired!" Chad yelled again. As if hit by lightning, Vincent went limp as soon as Chad fired his gun. Vince, who was lost, seemed to be made fun of by his coworkers one by one.
"Please don't. Vincent began to cry and said, "Please don't fire me!" He begged Donovan to help him.
"Speak to the wall!" Chad laughed and then went into his office, where he told Vincent he was fired and left him in tears. Some of the people who had laughed at him were still making fun of him when he turned around.
But what could regular staff members like Vincent do? Many other people who want to work will be competing for their spots because it's not easy to find work in New York.
Vincent doesn't know what will happen to him now. He no longer has a job, so it will be hard for him to pay all of his bills, like rent, mortgage, health insurance, and other living costs.
Vincent limped back to his desk to get his things because he was tired and sad. Everyone in the room was back to working on their own projects. Vincent Cox is not important to anyone.
He looked up when Heather called out, "Vince?"
"I thought you were smart, but you're even dumber than the last senior IT staff," Heather said, making Vincent feel even worse about himself. When Vincent looked at Heather, she was shocked and looked down at him without laughing.
"I hope you understand what went wrong." Have a nice day!" He went on again, then turned around and walked towards Chadler Donovan's room like nothing was wrong. Donovan is the CEO of Horus Tech Corporation.
Vincent could only look at Heather as she walked away. Vincent told this woman how he felt about her, but he no longer has a job. He got into all of this because Chad Donovan didn't give him a chance. Vincent often works past the standard work hours, but he was fired right away when he made a mistake.
Vincent tightened his hands because he was angry, upset, and ashamed. He gave the door to the CEO's room a sharp look. Vincent lost all hope and could not think straight.
"Made him pay!" Get rid of him! Someone told him something in his ear. Vincent started to breathe more quickly. It seemed like it was going to blow up.
"Kill him!"

Vincent's eyes slowly opened. It's not very clear because there is dirt near his eyes. Pain—yes, his body felt a bit sore. His fingertips moved slowly. He got up slowly, then turned around. The sun was starting to rise, marked by the bias of its rays over the walls of the buildings flanking the alley where he was lying.
The sound of a baby's voice made Vincent frown. He sat down, and across the fence, baby Kyron was sitting there, crying in confusion.
Vincent was confused and stood up a little unsteadily. He looked up, then his eyes blinked.
"Oh, my glasses!” he said, suddenly shocked. Vincent looked like a fool looking for glasses, even though he could see very clearly. When Vincent finally found his glasses, he put them on, but his vision was blurry. Only then did he realize that his vision was normal—even too normal.
“I can see clearly. My minus is gone," he added it again, turning his hand to look at it. He could even see baby Kyron crying because his trousers were starting to be bitten by mice. Even though they were almost ten meters apart.
"Hey!" Vincent shouted, running towards baby Kyron, then, without realizing it, jumped over the three-meter-high fence and landed perfectly. His hand quickly grasped a mouse the size of an adult's fist in front of baby Kyron, who was starting to stop crying.
Vincent squeezed the mouse. The rodent squealed in pain. Her little eyes were getting rounder, as if they were going to jump out. Vincent can't control his strength, and BOOM, the rat explodes in his hand. His blood splattered like a bursting water balloon and slightly hit Vincent's face.
He only realized he had killed the plumber rat a few seconds later. Baby Kyron even chuckled while clapping his hands. Meanwhile, Vincent frowned in surprise.
“Are you even laughing? Are you happy to see me kill rats for you?” Vincent joked, somewhat annoyed at baby Kyron, who was still giggling at him. Vincent's nose smelled the rat blood that stained his hands. He brought his palm closer, and he smelled a rather interesting smell.
It was very strange because, in the past, he was always nauseous with the rancid smell of blood. But now I feel like I want to lick it. But no, that's rat blood, isn't it?
Vincent simply wiped his palm on the side of his trousers. Now he stood up and wondered what he had just done. Didn't he just jump over the fence like he was half-floating?
His hand felt his neck, and he felt a wound, but the blood had dried. Vincent was confused about what he was experiencing. He turned to baby Kyron, who was still looking up at him.
"If I was able to jump over the fence earlier, do you think it was a coincidence?" Vincent asked Kyron. Kyron just chuckled with a sweet smile without clear language. Vincent nodded again. Now he is confident enough to try again. He should be able to jump twice over the high fence.
"Look at me!" he said again to Kyron as he took a running stance and then jumped over the fence. Unfortunately, he wasn't tall enough.
"AAAHHKK!"
Vince was meant to go through a big, tall iron fence, but he fell down onto the hard surface of the block. Vincent hurt himself when he fell on the fence too."Aaahh, I must be crazy," he moaned in pain. A short time later, Vincent realized he had hit an iron fence so hard that it broke. He rose from the fence's iron surface and stood on it without making a scratch."What happened to me?" Vincent said something and looked at his hands, which were moving back and forth. He didn't know what had happened to him. When Vincent turned around to look at Kyron, he was still sitting there, as if he were waiting for Vincent to come back."I'm not myself. What did really happen? I..." Vincent again put his hand on his neck. It was time for him to eat and drink. The bite from last night was still on his fingers.Vincent had a different mood. He was changed in a big way by what happened to him.Vincent walked away with a cold face, leaving Kyron to sit there and stare at him. Kyron then crawled af
Michael and Jake go to Horus Tech Corporation, which is where Vincent works at. A number of witnesses will be questioned about the murder of the company's CEO. People who work for Chadler Donovan, like Heather Meadow, are the first ones to be questioned.Heather looked very sad about her boss's death. Her eyes were puffy, and her nose was red. Heather cried because she felt sad that her boss had left her.“Shall we begin, Miss Meadow?” asked Detective Mike Emerson. Heather nodded. They were provided with a meeting room that was not that big to ask several people.“Do you know Vincent James Cox? The IT senior who was fired a week ago, "Mike started his question. Jake sat in the same room, a little away from the table his friend was using. He folded his legs and wrote down the necessary things in his book."Yes, I know him," replied Heather in a low tone.“How close?”"Not even close. We only ate lunch together a few times." Heather answered without much thought."What are you talking a
Vincent closed his eyes, enjoying the sweetness of blood that should be disgusting to normal humans. The screams of pain were like a sweet song to his ears. He was happy to hear the dying roar of his victim. The extraordinary taste of blood was now washing away his dry throat. While enjoying it, Vincent realized it and widened his eyes. He quickly let go of his bite, his mouth full of blood. The pickpocket went limp and fell to the ground, unconscious. Either he is dead or not.“Uh, what happened to me? What did I do?” Vincent panicked. He swallowed the remaining blood many times in his mouth. Meanwhile, the old man he was helping carried Kyron to check on the situation."Sir?" he called to Vincent, who was standing aside. Vincent turned his back and wiped the blood with his wrist. The old man approached Vincent, who was a little confused. He had to find out what happened to him, but what?“Sir, are you okay?” The man asked the confused Vincent. He wiped away the remaining blood befor
The pickpocket that Vincent and the priest left behind started to open his eyes. His breath was ragged, like that of a hungry wild animal. His eyes turned red, as did the skin on his extremely pale hands. He started to stand up and look in all directions.Vincent threw his friend, who crashed not far from him, and he also woke up. Some people just passed by in front of the alley without caring about them.“Ahhk, my head!” groaned the friend holding his head while sitting. He raised his head and saw that his criminal friend in the robbery this afternoon was standing a few meters away, staring at him. It was getting late as the street lights were turned on.“Hey, Tom. Why are you just standing there? Help me up!” he shouted at his friend. His friend was still staring intently while the other man was still rubbing his head and nape alternately. The man called Tom finally walked towards his friend. feeling that your friend will help you reach
Vincent came out of the room with a good, fresh look. Although he was only wearing an old long-sleeved t-shirt and jeans, he looked much better. It was late afternoon, and it was time for dinner. He came over to Kyron, who was sitting on the floor, busy playing with an empty bottle."Hey..." Vincent touched Kyron, who grinned widely when he saw him. Vincent also smiled at him."You look good in those clothes, kid," said Zach while serving dinner at the dining table not far from them. Vincent just smiled as well.“Let's have dinner. I've also made porridge for your baby," said Zach again. Vincent nodded and thanked him. He picked up Kyron and put him on a chair. Because Kyron was a baby and he was too small to sit and eat in a normal adult chair, Vincent then put Kyron on his lap."Better?" Vincent asked, to which Kyron babbled as if he were saying yes."Smart boy!" said Zach, smiling.“Are you a Catholic?” Zach asked again,
Vincent took off his hoodie and put it on before he left the room. After Kyron slept, he took steps to look for information and wanted to return to his apartment. Vincent didn't take much with him; the police had to tow the car because his identification tag was still inside."Are you going out?" Zach asked Vincent, who had just closed the door slowly.“Uh, yes, Father. I have to go out for a moment. "I have to get some things from my old apartment," Vincent answered rationally. Zach nodded in understanding."Yes, of course. How about your baby?""He is sleeping. Can I leave him for a while, Father? I won't be long.” Zach smiled and nodded.“Sure, I'll read a book first before going to bed. Be careful and come back quickly. There's a lot of crime in New York at night," said Zach while patting Vincent's arm, who was a little stunned. His mind had flashes of memories of fleeing with Kyron and getting bit by a police officer who was
“Honey, come inside. Let me talk to Vincent." Mr. Jamieson gently asked his wife to come back into the room. With a flat expression, the woman turned to go into her room. After that, Mr. Jamieson spoke to Vincent again.“Tell me the truth, Vince. What happened?" Mr. Jamieson insisted, half whispering to Vincent. Vincent turned slightly towards the door, then pulled Mr. Jamieson's arm away from the door.“Mr. Jamieson, please help me. I'm being slandered. I was accused of shooting my ex-boss, even though I wasn't the one who did it. I came to get my things!” said Vincent, also lowering his voice so as not to make a noise. Mr. Jamieson seemed to frown slightly.“The police came this afternoon to question some neighbors. Luckily, I wasn't home yet, so they couldn't do it. If what you said is true, then why would they question everyone?”Vincent took a deep sigh. He was a little hesitant to tell him what happened.&l
For a while, Vincent was walking a little erratically, and the police almost caught him. He approached the door of the apartment where Brandon lived. When he arrived at the door to the apartment, Vincent, who had already raised one hand, hesitated. His brow furrowed.“What would Heather say if she saw me? Will she report me to the police?” he muttered doubtfully. Vincent gave up his intention to knock on the door. It would be better if he just waited until Brandon came out. If Vincent still had a cell phone, it might be easy for him to contact Brandon. The problem is that the cellphone was left in the car, and now it has been towed by the police.Vincent was forced to wait near the stairs without knowing when Brandon would come out. While sitting quietly near the steps, Vincent leaned his head and then tilted his head slightly upwards. His eyes caught a very small spider walking on the wall. Even though the distance between him and the wall was quite far, t
