26: A Day To Remember

Zeke stayed with me for most of the day. Really, we only left the room to get food and then we went back to talking about everything and nothing.

I showed him every picture and video I had of my babies. And he was excited.

I didn’t cry, which was a plus. When I told him, he laughed and made a joke about how I never used to cry.

I shrugged. “Life changes us in the most surprising way.”

“I know.” He said, smiling down at a video of Ryan and Nina. He was handing her his game controller after she broke hers.

She doesn’t even know how to play the game.

“They remind me of us.” He comments and I laugh.

“It is a circus watching them, because they are just a replica of us. Some things they do give some whiplash because there is no way that is possible.”

“Well, we are seeing that it is.” I nodded and smiled.

I was tired of lying down so I stood up and started walking around the room.

Zeke kept the tab and started watching me.

“What?” I asked, tucking a stand of my dyed hair behind my ear.
