Chapter 34

OAKLEY

I told mark about the dream I had the previous night. He pondered it some while we showered and dressed for the day. He had put on a pair of blue jeans, a black top and sneakers. I put on a pair of black skinny jeans, pink T-shirt and sneakers. Once we were all dressed and ready he turned to me.

“Do you feel any different?” He asked me. I took a moment to see if I did.

“Other than feeling a little stronger, no.” I told him.

“I feel a little stronger as well.” He mused. selene did say he would be stronger now that we had marked each other. I took a moment to feel the mate bond. Having been to tired and blissful last night I didn’t feel it snap into place but now I felt all the feelings he was feeling through it. The pull for him was much stronger and when we touched the sparks, or tingles, intensified. I hadn’t heard of that happening before so I wondered if it was because of my powers.

“We should head down to breakfast my angel.” He said. He took my hand and we walked to the door just as there was a knock on it. Mark opened the door for us to see his mom standing there.

“Good morning!” She said to us cheerfully.

“Good morning.” We responded in unison.

“I came up to make sure you guys were going to make it to breakfast and also Oakley, I have arranged a lunch today with the ladies and they are all so excited to meet you.” She told us.

“Oh okay.” I said. I wasn’t sure how to feel. I was a little excited but also nervous.

“Did you talk to dad?” Mark asked her.

“Yes. Beth will be joining us as well.” She replied. Mark nodded. We all made our way down to the dining hall together, chatting lightly about things happening with the pack. It wasn’t until we were almost to the dining hall when she finally noticed our marks. She had turned to say something and stopped dead in her tracks.

“Oh my goddess!“ she exclaimed.

“You marked each other! I knew I felt a shift in power! That’s fantastic! Oh! Now we can plan a Luna ceremony!” She was super excited. She hugged us both and then raced off. We just looked at each other and laughed. Her excitement was kind of catching. We walked into the dining hall, holding hands and smiling. We made our way over to the buffet area and grabbed a couple of plates. We loaded them up with food and went to the table his parents and my dad were sitting at.

“Congratulations.” Alpha Simon said. I blushed and mark mumbled thanks. We sat down and were eating and chatting, having a good a time. I looked over at the door to see serenity and her minions walk into the dining hall. She glared at me but kept walking to where the food was. They got their food and sat down. She kept looking over at me, glaring but I didn’t let it bother me. when breakfast was done mark needed to go to his office and get some work done and his mom took me to the Luna office to do some training on what my duties will be. The office looked almost exactly like marks office except the colors were more of a bright, girly theme. I actually really liked it and didn’t see any need to change anything. Due to the training I had received in my previous pack there wasn’t much for me to learn except a Luna does more with finances then a beta female does. I mostly needed to get acquainted with the pack and the working of this pack over my previous one. Silver moon pack was far bigger.

Around 11 we had stopped what we were doing.

“I am pretty confident in your abilities and there really isn’t much for you to learn other then the pack members and our different businesses but that will all happen over time.” Luna Angela said. I smiled and nodded, I was pretty confident and happy about all of this.

“Thank you.” I said to her.

“It’s about time to head to lunch. Do you need to do anything before we go?” She asked me.

“I don’t think so. I could say goodbye to mark though and let him know we are going.” I told her.

“Oh, hes in a meeting. I already checked. I told him we were getting ready to leave. We are staying on pack lands so there isn’t much to worry about. In fact we are going to your grandmothers bakery. it’s the perfect place for coffee and she makes some really good sandwiches. She also knows us all from growing up.” She said. I smiled at that. She sure did know how to make good sandwiches. And pretty much everything else she cooked or baked was good.

”are you okay with walking? The weather is so nice right now and it won’t be long before it starts to get cold.” She asked.

“Of course. I enjoy walking.” I responded. We headed out the door and towards town. Everyone we passed greeted us with signs of respect and hellos. We walked the couple blocks it took to get there, chatting easily like we had known each other forever but at the same time getting to know each other. I was glad that she was nice and not one of those lunas who were all about the money and status. we reached the bakery and went inside. we walked over to a table where three other ladies sat, drinking some coffee or tea.

“hello ladies! This is Oakley, Oakley this is Beth, Marie and Sierra.” She said, pointing to each of them. Sierra and Marie were both wolves. I had seen them around the pack and dining hall a few times. Beth was not from the pack and she was not a wolf. I could feel a power emanating from her, it was strong. I was guessing she was a witch. I could see her eyeing me with curiosity. We sat down with them and they started telling me some stories about the times they had with my mom. Most of them good, a few funny, very few that were sad. It was so great to hear all about her. every once in awhile my grams would stop by to refill our drinks and make sure we had eaten enough and would give us her input on some of the things that had happened. She had plenty of stories about the 4 of them together.

After a while Sierra and Marie had to get going to their pups and mates so they could take care of their dinners and such. Beth stayed behind to chat with Luna angel and I.

“I understand that your wolf is just like your mother’s and you might have the same powers as your mother?” Beth said. She did not hesitate to get right into it.

“Yes and I had a dream last night where my mother and Selene visited me.” I could see the shock on their faces. I told them everything about the dream.

“This happened after you guys marked each other?” Beth asked.

“Yes.” I nodded.

“You have the same powers. Maybe stronger, I can feel the energy coming from you.” She said to me.

“I may need to stay here for a bit to train her.” She said turning to Luna Angela.

“Of course. You know you’re always welcome. I have already had a room made up for you at the pack house.” She told her. We finished our drinks and got up to leave. I said goodbye to my grams on the way out and then we made our way back to the pack house, chatting a little more about my mother.

Suddenly I felt a probing of a mind link that felt urgent. I opened up the link.

“My angel where are you?” Came marks voice urgently. It had me concerned.

“im walking back to the pack house with your mom and Beth. What’s wrong?” I asked him. I didn’t realize I had stopped walking but I felt Beth and Luna Angela stop beside me and look at me with concern.

“Rogues.” mark said in a tone that sounded like he was panicking.
