I watched as she tortured and then removed the head off the rogue completely. She had already managed to get more information from him then we had been able to in months from any of the other rogues we had captured. It seemed as though this one was tired of whatever they were doing and was not a fan of vampires. I kind of wished we could have thrown him in the cells and gotten more information but he almost killed a child so I wasn’t going to argue.
As soon as I felt her aura drop I made my way over to her slowly. She just sat down and stared at me. I ordered the warriors to take care of the body of the rogue before I gave the pack the all clear to go about business like normal.
Zorro was in awe of his mate. He had only seen her from far away and was enjoying being this close to her. Even if she did have blood all over her jaw. He rubbed himself against her side. she let out a sound like a purr and swatted at his head gently. He nipped at her tail and was about to take off running when I stopped him.
“We need to check on the child, make up the reports and she needs to get cleaned up. We also need to check on Oakley
and the rest of the pack. I know you want to be with your mateZorro and I want that for you but we need to be an alpha first and she is the Luna now so she had a duty as well.” I told him. He huffed but he knew I was right. He sat down and looked at haven, I knew he was speaking to her, letting her know what I had just told him. She huffed and then stood up. I asked a couple of the warriors to bring us some clothes so we could shift back. once they brought us the clothes they turned around so we could shift back and change. the sound of bones cracking and rearranging could be heard in the silence as we shifted back. We put on our clothes and turned to head to the pack house. we walked silently, hand in hand, not talking about what just happened, both of us processing it. I stopped and turned to her when we reached the front of the pack house.“Are you okay?” I asked her. She looked at me for a moment, like she was contemplating something.
“Yes. I’m okay. Haven was very brutal back there. I was afraid you would think differently of us.” She told me. I pulled her into a hug.
“I will never think differently of you. And she was very brutal. I think Zorro was turned on secretly.” I chuckled at that last bit. she giggled.
“We should get inside. We have a few things to tend to.” I said. I grabbed her hand and we walked up the stairs and into the door together. I could hear some sniffling in the kitchen. I guess that’s where my mom had taken the kid. The warriors mind linked me that the bodies had been taken care of and their security checks showed things were safe for now. I gave the all clear to the rest of the pack and then we headed into the kitchen. My mom was sitting at the table with the kid, giving her cookies and soothing her. Beth was standing at the counter, looking at her phone. I was just about to speak when a couple wolfs flew into the room and towards the child, the mother crying as she pulled her into her arms. The dad thanking us over and over again.
After waiting for everyone to calm down i sat in a chair at the table by the child.
“Why were you at the park?” I asked her gently.
“I..i..I wanted to show I was brave.” She sniffled quietly.
“What do you mean?” I asked her.
“All my friends say that I am a scaredy wolf and I wanted to prove to them I wasn’t.” She told me.
“Well your friends are wrong. But what you did was very dangerous and you could have lost your life. Imagine how your parents would feel if something had happened to you. Do you know how scared they were not knowing where you were?” I explained to her. She stared for a moment and then turned to her parents.
“I’m sorry mommy and daddy. I didn’t mean to scare you. I won’t do it again.” She told them. Her mom hugged her and her dad pat her head gently.
“Please don’t ever do that again sweetie, if you’re having trouble with your friends then you let us know and we will sort it out.” Her mom said to her. She just nodded and then went back to her cookie. I looked up to my mate to see her looking at me with adoration in her eyes. I don’t know what I did but I wanted to know so i could keep doing it. I enjoyed the way she was looking at me.
“If you guys are okay here we need to go file some reports of the evening events.” I said as I stood up. They nodded and thanked us again. We all left the room to go to the offices. The warriors, my dad, beta and gamma who were all involved were waiting outside the office. I turned to Oakley.
“You will have to go into the Luna office with my mom. She will show you how to file a report.” I told her. She nodded at me, gave me a kiss and then went with my mom and Beth to the Luna office. The rest of us headed into my office to file paperwork on the incident. Once we were in the room and the door was shut my dad spoke up.
“Man, haven was brutal back there.” He said. everyone else nodded in agreement.
“Yea, remind me to never get on her bad side.” I said. I sat in my chair and grabbed the required items to file a report. Once everyone had told their version of what happened and it was filed I dismissed them all. I took a moment to process everything. this situation with the rogues was getting out of hand and the alpha council was not at all helpful. I was stumped. I turned on my computer to send out a mass email to the alphas who did seem like they wanted to help and explained about the rogue camp and everything. I left out the details of Oakleys wolf, they didn’t need to know that yet because I wasn’t sure who I could trust. Once I was done I shut down my computer and sat there for a moment going over everything that had happened that evening. It wasn’t long before I was feeling exhausted. I got up to go find Oakley so we could head to bed.
MARKI couldn’t believe it when Rebecca told us everything that had been happening. I was happy for her that she had found her mate. I loved when my pack members were happy and I had a feeling her mate would make a good addition to the pack. I was going to have to take care of this situation with Serenity before it got out of hand. She had gone to far. I just wasn't sure yet how I was going to handle it. I would be having a meeting later with the beta and gamma couple and my own mate and parents and we would have to figure something out together because I had never had a situation like this before. I had to much going on with the vampires and rogues to deal with her petty jealousy. We all got up and headed over to the pack hospital. When i checked to see about visiting I was told he was all patched up and resting. A few days and he would be fully recovered. Maybe with his mate he would recover faster. I could only hope that he would accept his second chance mate and not reject her out
OAKLEYWe walked into Marks office and I was assaulted with the scent of my mate and I felt myself melting onto one of his couches in front of the fireplace. I didn’t realize how tired I was.“Are you okay?” He asked me. I wasn’t even sure why I was so tired.“Yea. I am just tired for some reason.” I said. He chuckled.“I think because you have been doing a lot these past few days compared to what you were doing before and it might all be catching up to you. Tomorrow is a Saturday though so we get a day off.” He sat down next to me and pulled me into his lap. I snuggled into him and his warmth. I knew I couldn’t stay there or I would fall asleep.“We can’t just take a break. Not with a vampire camp on our borders and rogues trying to get in here.” I said, sitting up. Before he could say anything there was a knock at his door.“Come in.” He said in his alpha voice. The door slowly creaked open to reveal Rebecca standing there.“Come in and close the door. Have a seat.” He told her, ges
OAKLEYWe reached the pack house and had just enough time to shower before lunch. We made our way to the alpha floor. I started thinking about that rogue in the hospital and how much I could relate to what he went through with his rejection. I knew how hard it was. I hoped he had a second chance out there.“What are you thinking about?” Mark asked. We had just gotten into our room and I realized I was just standing in the middle of the room. I moved towards the closet to pick out some clothes for after showering.“I was thinking about the rogue and his rejection. I know what it feels like. We should let him join the pack if he wants. I wouldn’t force him to go back to where he came from. At least give him some time to heal and get on his feet. Help him to see that there are good ones out there and that life does go on. Maybe he will have a second chance out there. And he doesn't have to stay here forever. But being a part of the pack until he does decide what to do is better than bein
OAKLEYI remembered what my mom and Selene had told me in the dream about my dad getting a second chance mate. I was happy it didn’t take long to find her. He deserved to be happy. I watched as he walked down the hallway following the scent of his mate. I followed him while the others took care of the kid.He stopped at a door that opened at the same time he arrived. A woman in a doctor coat with a stethoscope hanging around her neck stepped out. she was pretty with long curly brown hair, brown eyes and about my height. She looked at my dad and her eyes widened.“Mate.” She whispered. He nodded at her.“This can’t be. I had a mate. He passed away in a fight against rogues.” She said.“I lost my first mate as well. You’re my second chance also. Perhaps you would like to get some coffee and talk?” My dad asked her. She nodded and they headed off towards what I was assuming was the cafeteria.I turned around and made my way back to where everyone else was. I didn’t want to impose and I c
OAKLEYWe waited in the meeting room for everyone to join us, we didn’t have to wait for very long. Once everyone was settled mark got right to it.“So as all of you know the rogues demanded to speak with me last night at the border. They wanted me to give Oakley to them. They said we had a week to turn her over or they were going to take her by force.” He said. Once he finished everyone either started growling or making comments that insinuated they would not let that happen. I was happy to know that they all would fight for me but I also didn’t want them to have to do that.“Settle down everyone.” Mark said. He waited for everyone to calm down. Then he continued.“As you know they have vampires working with them. Or actually they are working for a vampire who has sent some of his people to make sure they are doing as he tells them too. We have contacted a friend of the family who is a vampire. He will be here this evening to assist with training. While a lot of us have never fought
MARKI awoke to the sounds of birds chirping outside. I noted how it had been a bit since I had been on a morning run. But I felt like the reason I hadn’t was absolutely worth it. I looked over at my mate sleeping soundly. kissing her forehead gently so as not to wake her, I slipped out of bed and went to the bathroom. After relieving myself and brushing my teeth I went to the balcony. Sitting in one of the chairs I remembered what had happened the night before, before my mate went into her heat. When the rogues demanded they speak to me. I didn’t want to worry my mate but I knew I needed to tell her what had happened. How they demanded I turn her over to them or they would attack. Of course I had no intentions of handing her over. I knew that we would be able to come out of an attack against them with minimal damage but if they had vampires on their side then it would be harder. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t hear my mate approaching.“what’s wrong? I can feel your troubl
