Chapter 38

OAKLEY

We went to the Luna office so we could file the reports on the recent events. We chatted some about what happened and how haven had been. Beth had come with us as well.

“I wonder what your powers are?” She mused. She looked thoughtful.

“Well we won’t be finding out tonight. A lot has happened and everyone is tired.” Luna Angela said. We both nodded in agreement. I was pretty tired and I could feel marks exhaustion through our bond as well. We all made arrangements to meet the next day in the Luna office so we could do Luna training, plan a Luna ceremony and try and find out what my powers were. Once we finished up they left and went to their rooms and I went and knocks on the door to marks office. It opened up almost right away. He pulled me into his arms and buried his face in my neck.

“Let’s go get cleaned up and go to bed.” I said to him. He nodded, let go of me and grabbed my hand. We walked up the stairs together holding hands. Once we reached the bedroom and closed the door we both started to strip in silence. It had been quite an evening and we were both very tired. We got into the massive shower together and got ourselves cleaned. It was peaceful and the silence wasn’t an awkward one but one between two mates who love and understand each other. Once we finished showering and all the other nightly routine stuff we made our way to the bed, crawled into it, he pulled me into his arms, I snuggled into him and we both passed right out. It was a dreamless night.

I awoke to the sound of the alarm. It was an annoying buzz. Mark groaned and rolled over to turn it off. He rolled back over and pulled me into his arms.

“we need to get up.” I giggled.

“5 more minutes.” He murmured. As much as I wanted that as well I was hungry and wanted to have breakfast before my meeting with his mom and Beth. As if on cue, my stomach growled loudly.

“Let’s go get you fed.” He chuckled. Kissing my nose and then letting me go he got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. I made my way to the walk in closet to find some clothes for the day. I had no idea what to wear for Luna training and for discovering whatever my powers were. I finally settled on a pair of blue jeans and a plain black shirt. Once we were both dressed we headed down to the dining hall. I could smell the delicious food before we even entered the room. We made our way to the food, grabbed plates and filled them up and then headed over to where his parents and my dad were sitting. We chatted about nothing in particular as we ate. Once we finished we deposited our dishes in the bin and then headed towards the offices. Mark pulled me into a hug, nuzzle my neck with his nose.

“Mmm you smell so good angel. I don’t want to be away from you.” He murmured as he nipped at my ear. I giggled and pushed him gently away. He pouted but I knew it was just fun.

“We will see each other soon.“ I told him as I backed up towards the door of the Luna office. He just stood there staring at me until I turned and entered the room.

“Alright, now that we are all here let’s get started.” Luna Angela said. Straight to business. we went over more of the Luna duties and then moved on to discuss when the Luna ceremony would be held for me to take over.

“In three weeks time there is a full moon. I think that would be perfect for the ceremony. And it gives time to get invites out and everything ordered and set up.” Luna Angela said as she looked up at me. I was super nervous but also excited.

“Okay.” I nodded.

“Great! I’ll put in on the calendar and start organizing a planning party. We will also need to let mark know and send out invites as soon as possible.“ Luna Angela said as she started to write some things down.

“Can we avoid inviting my previous pack?” I questioned. I did not want that drama.

“Oh of course dear. We already planned on having nothing to do with them.” She said as she looked up from her writing. I gave her a small smile in thanks.

“Okay so it’s my turn now.” Beth said, standing up from the couch she was sitting on. I turned to her so my attention was on her. I felt haven perk up in my mind. She was interested as well in what we could do. She came up to us, took my hands in hers and closed her eyes. I could feel energy coming from her but I was unsure of what she was doing. After a few moments she opened her eyes, dropped her hands and sighed.

“I was hoping that I would be able to detect what your powers might be but you’re closed and locked tonight.” she said.

“Sorry?” I wasn’t sure what else to say. She just laughed a little.

“It’s not your fault child. As frustrating as it is it can also be a good thing because then others cannot detect it either. it’s a good way to surprise people.” She said. I nodded. That made sense.

“We know you’re very powerful. we all felt it last night with the rogue.” She said.

“I want you to close your eyes and look inside yourself. See what your power looks like to you, feel for it.” She said.

I closed my eyes and shut everything else out as I tried to focus on whatever might be inside me. After a few moments I could feel a slight hum of energy. I reached for it and tried to bring it forward, carefully. I could feel it getting stronger and it started to get bright. Eventually i felt as though I was surrounded by nothing but a bright light and energy humming all around me, flowing through my veins and dancing across my skin. And just as quickly as it came it went away. But something felt different. I still felt like me but more powerful. I was confused. I opened my eyes to see Beth and Luna Angela staring at me wide eyed.

“What?” I asked them.

“You were just glowing super bright for a moment and then it just stopped.” Beth explained. I nodded. I didn’t imagine the light. It was real.

“You are very powerful.” Beth mused, more to herself than me.

“Alright. I think we should go out to the training field and see what you can really do.” Beth said. So we all headed out the door and towards the field.
