We headed out to the training field which was empty. I looked at Luna angela questioningly.
“I sent out a mind link asking for the field to be cleared. You have enough going on, I figured you didn’t want the stress of anyone else watching also.” She told me. I nodded.
“Thank you.” I said. She smiled back at me. We reached the center of the field and then Beth turned to me.
“I want to test first and see if you have any elemental powers. For the first one I want you to imagine a thunderstorm. Think about what the lightening looks like, the way it lights up the sky, the sound of crackling thunder, how dark and gloomy the clouds look, and the feel of the rain when it hits your skin.” She said to me. I nodded and then closed my eyes. I took a deep breath and then began to think of all those things she mentioned. A few moments later I heard Luna Angela gasp as I felt rain drops hit my cheeks. I opened my eyes to see dark clouds forming above us. I decided to add another step and imagined the feel of the wind whipping around us. No sooner than I thought it did it happen. Our hair was blowing all around us, the sky opening up to let the rain fall, the lightening lighting up the sky and thunder booming. I looked over at Beth to see her looking at me, smiling.
“Okay, now imagine a nice warm sunny day.” She yelled to me over the sounds of the storm. I did ask she asked and as quickly as the storm came it vanished, leaving the sun shining in its place.
“That’s amazing.” Luna Angela said. Beth nodded.
“Now for the next one, I want you to imagine fire. I want you to think about holding a ball of fire in your hand.” she said. I was a little nervous at that but I held up my hand and did as she said. Eventually a small spark started to appear and then it started to grow until there was a big ball of fire dancing in my hand. I stared at it, fascinated. I moved it around my hand, between my fingers, back and forth. After a few moments I imagined it disappearing and then it did. We moved on to things like water and earth. I created water the same way as I did the fire and then I opened up the earth and closed it back up, I grew a tree and then picked it up and threw it. I was fascinated by the things I could do.
“Alright. We need to take a break. We don’t want to do to much at once.” Beth said. It was low very overwhelming and I could feel myself getting tired from it. We decided to call it a day and then meet the next day to explore what else I could do. Then we headed to the dining hall for lunch. It wasn’t long before my grandmother and Melissa joined us. We were all just chatting about things when the Luna ceremony came up.
“Oh we need to go shopping!” Melissa said all excited.
“Oh yes! You will need a new dress.” Said my grams. A Luna ceremony was a little bit like a human wedding but also different. Luna Angela would hand her title over to me and she would retire with her mate. We made arrangements to go shopping sometime in the next few days before the ceremony. Once we finished eating we parted ways and I went with Luna Angela to visit a few of the facilities that the oversaw so the alpha didn’t have too.
We went to the little village and went to all of the stores, checking in with the owners and seeing how they were doing. Making sure their businesses were doing well, that they didn’t have any troubles and seeing if they needed anything. Everyone seemed to be doing well. After that we headed over to the pack school. There were 3 buildings. one that had k-5, one that had 6-8 and the last was 9-12. We went to each of them, I got a tour and we checked to make sure all was going well with the students and any activities that had coming up. After that we made our way to the orphanage. There was not many pups there and it seemed as though everyone did their share to make them feel like they had a family. Luna Angela explained that the orphanage Is where they would go if something happened to their families and they didn’t have anyone else but that after they had time to adjust to loosing everyone and everything they knew and received counseling then they would be placed with a family. Usually to a couple who had trouble having pups of their own.
Once we finished we made our way to the pack hospital. We first checked that they had all the supplies that they needed and made a list of things they were low on to order. Once that was done we would check in with any wolves that were there for injuries or who had just had pups. Occasionally they would get an elder who was at the end of their life and their families wanted them to be comfortable. It wasn’t common.
Then there was a room with a couple of wolves who were in comas but there was nothing more they could do to help them. It was up to them and their wolves. There was a gentleman who had lost his mate to a rogue, a teenager who had been in a car accident and had a head injury, a lady who had lost her mate to an accident and a child that they had no idea why it happened. It was so sad.
I walked over to the gentleman who had lost his mate. I picked up his hand in mine and there was suddenly this buzz of energy that went through me to him. I was suddenly transported from the hospital room into what looked like a cabin. It was cozy. There was a fireplace with a couple of rocking chairs in front of it, a tv above it and seemed to be playing a reel of memories. Between the two chairs was a small table with a lamp and what looked like a photo album. I saw a door with a grey wolf sitting in front of it, he whimpered when he saw me but didn’t move. I saw an older man sitting in one of the chairs, looking much like the one from the hospital. I moved to sit in the chair next to his.
“Who are you?” He asked me, not looking away from the tv above the fireplace.
“My name is Oakley. I am the new Luna of the silver moon pack.” I told him.
“ahh so mark finally found his mate.” He said.
“yes. Where am I?” I asked.
“You’re in my mind. Although I do not know how you got here.” He answered. I nodded. This must be another one of my powers. I could feel the sadness coming from him.
“You lost your mate.” I stated. He nodded, a single tear falling from his eye.
“Have you thought about coming back? It must be lonely being here like this.” I said to him.
“How? How can i go back when she is not there to be with me? Being here isn’t any different than being there without her. It will be more lonely.” He cried.
“I understand. But is this what she would want for you? Do you think she would be happy knowing your here like this? Or don’t think she would want you to live your life for the both of you?” I softly asked him. The grey wolf by the door had made his way over and was sitting in front of the man who had finally looked away from the reel and at the wolf.
“How long have you been here?” I asked him.
“Two years.” He whispered.
“That’s a long time. I think you should come out and see what’s out here. I’m not saying to replace your mate but you could have a second chance. Not a replacement but maybe someone who has lost their mate as well.” I told him. He sighed and then nodded. Then he sank to the floor and put his arms around the wolf in front of him and started to sob.
“I’m so sorry. I’m sorry I have done this to us. I will make it up to you and be better.” He said to the wolf. After a few moments of him sobbing into what I was guessing his wolves fur he finally stood up.
“Okay. Let’s do this.” He said. He walked towards the door with the wolf next to him. When he opened the door there was nothing there but a bright white light. He stepped out and then everything around us disappeared and I was suddenly back in the hospital room, holding the man’s hand, Luna Angela calling my name and gently shaking me. I shook my head and then looked at her.
“What happened?” She asked.
“I don’t know. It was strange.” I said to her and then explained to her what just happened. After I finished talking to her we heard a groan and looked over to see the gentleman waking up from his coma. Luna Angela was shocked at first but then called for the nurse.
“It must be one of your powers.” She said looking at me. I nodded, but then looked around the room At the others there. I didn’t know how many of them I could wake at one time because I was pretty tired but I knew I had to try. I made my way over the the woman who was there that had lost her mate as well. I pulled a chair up next to her bed and sat down, grabbing her hand.
MARKI couldn’t believe it when Rebecca told us everything that had been happening. I was happy for her that she had found her mate. I loved when my pack members were happy and I had a feeling her mate would make a good addition to the pack. I was going to have to take care of this situation with Serenity before it got out of hand. She had gone to far. I just wasn't sure yet how I was going to handle it. I would be having a meeting later with the beta and gamma couple and my own mate and parents and we would have to figure something out together because I had never had a situation like this before. I had to much going on with the vampires and rogues to deal with her petty jealousy. We all got up and headed over to the pack hospital. When i checked to see about visiting I was told he was all patched up and resting. A few days and he would be fully recovered. Maybe with his mate he would recover faster. I could only hope that he would accept his second chance mate and not reject her out
OAKLEYWe walked into Marks office and I was assaulted with the scent of my mate and I felt myself melting onto one of his couches in front of the fireplace. I didn’t realize how tired I was.“Are you okay?” He asked me. I wasn’t even sure why I was so tired.“Yea. I am just tired for some reason.” I said. He chuckled.“I think because you have been doing a lot these past few days compared to what you were doing before and it might all be catching up to you. Tomorrow is a Saturday though so we get a day off.” He sat down next to me and pulled me into his lap. I snuggled into him and his warmth. I knew I couldn’t stay there or I would fall asleep.“We can’t just take a break. Not with a vampire camp on our borders and rogues trying to get in here.” I said, sitting up. Before he could say anything there was a knock at his door.“Come in.” He said in his alpha voice. The door slowly creaked open to reveal Rebecca standing there.“Come in and close the door. Have a seat.” He told her, ges
OAKLEYWe reached the pack house and had just enough time to shower before lunch. We made our way to the alpha floor. I started thinking about that rogue in the hospital and how much I could relate to what he went through with his rejection. I knew how hard it was. I hoped he had a second chance out there.“What are you thinking about?” Mark asked. We had just gotten into our room and I realized I was just standing in the middle of the room. I moved towards the closet to pick out some clothes for after showering.“I was thinking about the rogue and his rejection. I know what it feels like. We should let him join the pack if he wants. I wouldn’t force him to go back to where he came from. At least give him some time to heal and get on his feet. Help him to see that there are good ones out there and that life does go on. Maybe he will have a second chance out there. And he doesn't have to stay here forever. But being a part of the pack until he does decide what to do is better than bein
OAKLEYI remembered what my mom and Selene had told me in the dream about my dad getting a second chance mate. I was happy it didn’t take long to find her. He deserved to be happy. I watched as he walked down the hallway following the scent of his mate. I followed him while the others took care of the kid.He stopped at a door that opened at the same time he arrived. A woman in a doctor coat with a stethoscope hanging around her neck stepped out. she was pretty with long curly brown hair, brown eyes and about my height. She looked at my dad and her eyes widened.“Mate.” She whispered. He nodded at her.“This can’t be. I had a mate. He passed away in a fight against rogues.” She said.“I lost my first mate as well. You’re my second chance also. Perhaps you would like to get some coffee and talk?” My dad asked her. She nodded and they headed off towards what I was assuming was the cafeteria.I turned around and made my way back to where everyone else was. I didn’t want to impose and I c
OAKLEYWe waited in the meeting room for everyone to join us, we didn’t have to wait for very long. Once everyone was settled mark got right to it.“So as all of you know the rogues demanded to speak with me last night at the border. They wanted me to give Oakley to them. They said we had a week to turn her over or they were going to take her by force.” He said. Once he finished everyone either started growling or making comments that insinuated they would not let that happen. I was happy to know that they all would fight for me but I also didn’t want them to have to do that.“Settle down everyone.” Mark said. He waited for everyone to calm down. Then he continued.“As you know they have vampires working with them. Or actually they are working for a vampire who has sent some of his people to make sure they are doing as he tells them too. We have contacted a friend of the family who is a vampire. He will be here this evening to assist with training. While a lot of us have never fought
MARKI awoke to the sounds of birds chirping outside. I noted how it had been a bit since I had been on a morning run. But I felt like the reason I hadn’t was absolutely worth it. I looked over at my mate sleeping soundly. kissing her forehead gently so as not to wake her, I slipped out of bed and went to the bathroom. After relieving myself and brushing my teeth I went to the balcony. Sitting in one of the chairs I remembered what had happened the night before, before my mate went into her heat. When the rogues demanded they speak to me. I didn’t want to worry my mate but I knew I needed to tell her what had happened. How they demanded I turn her over to them or they would attack. Of course I had no intentions of handing her over. I knew that we would be able to come out of an attack against them with minimal damage but if they had vampires on their side then it would be harder. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t hear my mate approaching.“what’s wrong? I can feel your troubl
