2. Ordinary Day

“I will stay here from now on, so I will definitely visit all the places here” Amelia still has a smile that looks so cute and innocent that it makes people think that she had never seen the cruelty of the world.

“Good good, but child, be careful if you are going to stay here, even though this city isn’t high in crime or anything, but there are still some, so you are still a young girl, be safe.” The driver was like an old father giving her all the instructions which every father would have given his daughter.

Amelia’s eyes softened slowly; her smile also converged into a slow but real smile.

She looked outside in the sky,

‘Life isn’t easy, but I will definitely bear it for me, for my future which is now bleak.’

She didn’t say anything, but she listened quite seriously while nodding her head; this made the driver quite happy.

After a like hour of the journey through more than twenty-five minutes in traffic; they stropped in front of the Emperor Hotel,

“Child, here we are” 

“Thank you uncle,”  After paying the fare, Amelia climbed down from the car, then bid goodbye to the driver.

Then she entered the hotel, after booking the room, she just freshened up then went to sleep, as she reached El Eastree in the afternoon, and she wasn’t really hungry as she had something on the plane.

When she woke up, it was already seven in the evening, after that she ordered something light to eat for in-room service, then she got ready and went out.

She was in some plain tee shirt and blue faded jeans; she looked lazy as she walked out with her hair down, which she newly cut to mid-waist.

She entered the high-end mall, which is just a five-minute walk from the hotel, as she stayed in the hotel in the famous high-end part of the city.

Then she just went to an electronic shop where she bought a new mobile phone, laptop, and many other electronic items; then she also purchased a new sim with her.

Then she went to the boutique and then purchased some daily clothes like jeans, crop tops, tee-shirts, some formals, and some beautiful dresses.

She was like a tourist, buying everything; she was spending money like second-generation rich children.

‘My first time shopping, I am so happy, she took many pictures of her whole shopping.

When she came back to the hotel, it was almost eleven in the night, but El Eastree is the city that never sleeps, and she slept the whole afternoon and was quite energetic.

 She had quite a few bags in her hand, but she was happy; her steps were light like she was flying.

Suddenly she bumped into someone, but the other party didn’t say anything, just moved forward; this made Amelia frown in displeasure.

But she didn’t say anything or argue, just spitting out “sorry” as she walked towards the elevator.

The other party who bumped into her turned around, when they heard ‘sorry,’ seeing a girl walking towards the elevator with lots of bags, they could see she was coming back from shopping.

Then turned around and walked away.

Maybe Amelia didn’t see who it was, but she is sure that the person who bumped into her is a man, due to the suit he was wearing, which she saw when he bumped into her.

She didn’t think much; this also flowed out of her mind when she entered the elevator.

She was leaning on the elevator wall and thinking something seriously; no one was there other than her.

She was residing on the fourth floor, 

She entered her room card and entered her room, after again freshening up because she has a habit of bathing if she went out, as old habits are hard to die.

Then she started to check the things she bought, then she neatly folded the clothes and packed them in her suitcase, then she opened her newly purchased laptop which was already ready to use as the software, and all the things were equipped in the shop itself as the part of service with extra money.

After choosing the companies, she first starts to find the job openings and sends resumes to them.

She then went to sleep, but sleep was far away from her.

Then she took her newly bought mobile, then she g****ed something, after seeing the things on g****e, her calm face didn’t fluctuate but her eyes misted.

Then she shut her phone and closed her eyes.

‘I hope my decision is right.’

This is the last thing in her mind when she falls asleep.

Next day,

Ring Ring

The phone’s ring awoke Amelia from her sleep; she didn’t get up but picked up the phone without looking at the caller.

“Hello”

“Hello, Ms. Amelia Hamstring?” A woman’s voice sounded from the other side

“Yes?” Amelia is too lazy to sit up, so she just talked on the phone while laying on the bed with quilts covering her head to toe.

“Hello Ma’am, Good Morning; I am Andrea Anthony, from Zandar Corporation; we got your resume for the position of secretary; I would like to ask you if you are available for the interview?” 

The other party was polite but with a pleasant voice that had no fluctuation of emotions.

Amelia suddenly sat up on the bed; even without caring how she was looking, she just went towards the window and opened the window bar to see outside.

It wasn’t that late, nine in the morning; there was still morning dew and birds chirping.

She felt refreshed, and her mood, for unknown reasons, rose.

“Hello Andrea, Good Morning, Yeah I am available for the interview” Amelia wasn’t in a hurry, or she wasn’t overly happy; she talked with her as usual calm voice.

This surprised the other party because Zander Corporation is the top company in King Creek, and it is also listed in the world’s leading companies.

Many are dying to be part of this. Whoever she came in contact with for the interview, everyone was happy, some laughed, some shouted in happiness, others were in disbelief, but she encountered the first person who showed nothing.

Even though she was surprised, she didn’t show it in her voice and still talked calmly.

“Okay, that’s good to hear; we have an interview tomorrow at ten in the morning. Are you okay with the timing? If you are, then I will send the location for the interview?” Andrea asked Amelia.

“Okay, I will be there for the interview; thank you” Amelia was also polite.

“Then I have marked your name for the interview, be on time; goodbye, have a nice day,” Andrea sounded from another side.

“Okay, Goodbye, have a nice day” Amelia hung up the phone.

She then stood looking outside from the window for another ten minutes, 

No one knows what she was thinking, other than the darting eyes; there was no expression on her face, no happiness, no sadness.

After that, she freshened up and dressed up in a floral dress with white sandals.

She then went to the restaurant and had some porridge and coffee for breakfast.

After that, she then went to the central library; she then picked books from different sections about the El Eastree. She started to read; she didn’t even have lunch; she was engrossed in studying that she didn’t complete until nearly five in the evening, which was closing time.

After that, Amelia just walked around the street, as the central library is in the center of the city, which is also the heart of the whole town because companies and other businesses surrounded this entire street.

After spending the whole day in the library, Amelia felt a little hungry, so she searched for someplace to eat something to fill her empty stomach; when she saw a restaurant, she directly entered and booked one private room.

It was evening; she couldn't get any lunch, so she planned to go for some dessert and some juice; after her light snacks, then paying the bill, she went to the bathroom.

After completing her work, she washed her hands when she heard two girls talking; even though he didn't want to pay attention, their talk still fell on her ears.

“Oh my!! Oh my!! I just met my crush,” One girl almost screamed.

“Really? Is he here?” another girl asked with excitement in her voice.

“Yes, I think he was here for some meeting when I was just about to enter our private room. I saw him enter the next room; I saw him from close up; he was so handsome, I felt my heart about to burst out of my chest.” The first girl explained to her friend.

“Is he that handsome?” The second girl asked with envy in her voice.

“Yes, I think those tabloids didn’t give justice to his appearance; he isn’t just handsome, but he is the male god, so handsome!!! You know what? I applied for the job in his office; tomorrow I will go for the interview. Imagine I am so near to my male god; if things go right, maybe there would be office romance.” The first girl enthusiastically talked with her friend while redoing her makeup.

“I envy you; think about working together with Ethan Zandar, I am thrilled if only I get a chance, but congratulations, if you get the job, don’t forget to treat me with dinner and one picture of him.” The second girl said with slight jealousy.

Amelia washed her hands without looking back; she just went out of the restroom.

She thought amusingly

‘That girl was confident about herself, even though the interview wasn't conducted, she already thinks that she got a job, such foolish thoughts.

Maybe nowadays people are like this; alas we will see what will happen tomorrow, maybe there will be some brain dead fans like this for the interview; there will be some shows I can enjoy.’
