Who's excited about homecoming?

WHO’S EXCITED ABOUT HOMECOMING?

Chloe looked closer at the painting she drew a few days ago. She already drew the burning house which happened in real. It’s still hard to believe it. Is she physic?

“Did you buy the dress?” Sara leaned closer near Chloe’s bench in drawing class.

“What dress are you talking about?” Chloe asked, didn’t take her eyes off her painting. She is painting a princess. This time, her drawing is under her control.

“Don’t you know that?” Sookie poked her nose in the middle of their conversation.

“She doesn’t know that? Maybe she doesn’t have a date,” someone laughed over on the other side. Who will laugh like this except Becca’s friend?

“Shut up, Tiffany. Don’t you dare intrude between us.” Sara warned her but Tiffany avoided and walked over to Chloe’s table? the teacher is distracted by a phone call. So, the class was so noisy except for some students who are drawing without getting distracted.

“Just accept it. You don’t have a date for homecoming.”

“So what? I don’t care. I am already grieving Ruby’s death. Just go away,” Chloe replied, trying not to show her anger, which she never knows how to express. Who cares about Date in this situation? Tiffany is the same as Becca. Her friends will be cruel like her. Like attracts Like. Evil attracts evil.

“Iam talking with you. Stop painting,” Tiffany ordered and snatched the paintbrush from Chloe’s hand.

“Give it back to me” Chloe struggled to get it from her. Tiffany’s presence is annoying her and making her favourite painting class the worst one.

“I won’t. What are you going to do? Cry like a cry-baby,” Chloe doesn’t want to argue with her. She’s already in a grieving stage for her innocent friend. She can’t take any more problems.

“Take it, I don’t care,” Chloe shouted in front of the class and pushed every object down from her table. She rarely gets angry and goes crazy. Finally, she has thrown her painting down. All paints are spilt on the ground and her painting is spoiled. She didn’t give a damn care about her drawing. She can do it again and again.

“What’s happening here?” the teacher shouted, hung up the phone.

“Iam sorry, mam,” Chloe apologized and walked away without cleaning anything. She can’t bear the look of her teacher after making a mess at her table. She will never do something, but today her attitude feels different.

She walked up to her locker. She doesn’t expect anyone to follow her. But she heard someone’s footsteps near her. She thought it’s Sara or Sookie.

“Leave me alone” she shouted without seeing the person.

“What did I do?” she hears Ian’s Soft voice.

“Ian. Sorry, I thought it’s Sara,” she told him, biting her nails.

“You didn’t seem good. Anything you want to share?” He offered his help.

“It’s...” she started, but someone from Ian’s class called him.

“The class is going to start,” a boy shouted at him.

“I will come,” said Ian and turned to his friend.

“You should go,” she turned towards her locker, acting like looking for some books in her locker. Before Ian responded, someone walked towards Chloe.

“Here you are, being angry for a silly thing,” Tiffany spoke. Chloe doesn’t know why she is targeting her.

“Why don’t you go to your friend Becca than follow me?” she tried to act bravely which has never been her habit.

“Iam not following you, but it’s not the right time to see Becca,” her expression changed when Chloe mentioned Becca’s name.

“Hey, Chloe, can you come with me for homecoming?” Wes came behind tiffany and teased her. He doesn’t really want to go with her.

“No. There’s nothing wrong with going alone to homecoming. Stop messing around.” Chloe was about to cry. Having no date is not her problem, but seeing their faces randomly is upsetting her. Ruby’s dead now. Their attention is on her.

“What’s going on here? Someone should explain it,” Ian asked in confusion. Chloe stayed silent and Wes stepped towards her and grabbed her hands.

“I demanded you to come with me to homecoming. I didn’t request you.” he got hold of both of her hands tightly till it hurt.

“Let go of me,” In seconds Ian got Chloe out of his grip and spoke something not expected.

“Who told she doesn’t have a date? She’s coming with me. Now can you two go away?” Ian is still not clear about their conversation but he can somehow sense the disturbance they were causing.

Chloe looked at him in wonder. He’s always been her friend. Maybe he’s just telling this to make them go away.

“We are just playing with her. Who said I was going with her? I have a girlfriend. But are you seriously going with her?” Wes asked Ian, half-laughing.

“Yes. I will go with her, date her, kiss her. Have you got any issue with that?” Ian held Chloe close to his chest and firmly told this like they are already a couple. His words make her feel like it’s the truth.

“Whatever. Who cares about her?” Wes stepped back.

“But Iam watching you. I know someone in your family made a bigger problem with Becca. You are not going away with that,” Tiffany warned her. Chloe doesn’t have a single idea about that. But her words made her remember the video Ruby took in the bathroom. Her intuition is right. Tiffany is just predicting it but she really doesn’t know that’s the truth.

"I think they are blaming you and your sisters for Becca’s break-up," Ian told her the minute they left.

“What? she broke up with Daniel,”

“She didn’t. He did. Don’t you know about that? The news is spreading faster.”

“No,” she simply said and added. "You don’t need to come with me for homecoming. We are friends” Ian stared at her for a minute. She expected him he would say ‘Iam just pretending, idiot. You are my best friend,"

“Yes, I know. But I don’t care. Iam coming with you. I won’t let them come in your way again,” he said as he planned for this a very long time.

“But...” she’s still not sure about that.

“You are a senior,” said Chloe, looking up at him.

“One-year difference is not a problem. We are going as friends. It’s decided.” he confirmed, patting her shoulders. But he said he will date her, kiss her. That’s going on her mind.’he just said it to make Tiffany, Wes to leave. That’s doesn’t mean anything. I should not think about that. He’s my friend’ she thought to herself. Her thoughts suddenly shifted when she remembered about Becca’s breakup.

“And what about Becca’s break-up?”

“I don’t know. Someone took a video of her telling Becca is only being Daniel’s girlfriend for his money. My doubt is who would have sent it? Daniel isn’t a teenage boy. He’s an actor. How can someone in Roshord school easily contact him personally?” Ian wonders about that, tapping his feet on the floor.

“I don’t know about that too.” Chloe lied to him with difficulty. She’s no good at a lie. She’s the one who helped Ruby to send the video. She knows she can trust Ian. But it isn’t safe to tell this.

“What do you think about that? Will you appreciate the person who exposed it or curse them for doing it?” she asked him indirectly. She wants to know what will he think of her if he knows she’s behind it.

“Um... Becca isn’t truthful to him. So, I will neither appreciate nor curse. What’s done is done.”

“Why are you caring about that?” she added.

“No, I just want to know about your opinion,” she replied, sweat dripping over her face.

“Got to go. See you later,” Ian gave his beautiful smile and vanished from her sight. Soon, Chloe returned to her next class.
